  1. That will take 2, maybe 3 or 4 massive bombs of remakes to happen. Dumbo was a flop so the count is at one so far.
  2. I'm currently reading through The Wheel of Time series. On book 5 I believe. After I finish this book it is the latest Expanse book. In between I also read history and Asimov books. All of the Foundation series and the robot series that takes place before Foundation "Caves of Steel" being one of the titles. Before that was the Star Carrier series, the Space Marine Core series by the same author (not the name of the books but I forget the titles), the Trafalgar Incident series, the Lost Fleet Series, the Blood on the Stars series (thought this one would be a stinker at first but he threw a couple of good curve balls), and the Destroyermen series. Basically if it is non-jingouistic military scifi I'm apt to read it. Or reasonably priced history books on Kindle.
  3. All the reviews for this movie are really bad, a pity since my wife and I were both looking forward to it.
  4. If this is their idea of a lure to see this movie then I might not even watch it on Netflix.
  5. I would hope they keep the existing sound track but it is twenty (?) years old now. (I just can't believe it has been that long ago) Anyway - the opening song is still one of the catchiest ever and most people outside of anime still have not heard it.
  6. If any movie studio has any deal with HG other than "Here is your check, stay out of our movie" I would be shocked.
  7. Azonia and Khyron look like Neanderthals.
  8. Supposedly the movie is filming. I had to double check the date on the post to make sure it wasn't an April Fools joke... https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/akira-shooting-lost-souls-noah-hawley
  9. I watched the first episode last night and was favorably impressed. It really does follow the first series only. The english VA are good and the animation style works well - the modern computer style but fluid and better cell shading then most of them have.
  10. They obviously had something big planned for Leia in the last movie, I'm guessing somehow getting Darth Millenial to turn toward light. Carrie's death put an end to those plans. And Luke, well we always knew he was coming back as a force ghost.
  11. And yet another writer/director combo announced. Hard to keep track of them as they go by. On the plus side there is a new RPG on the way from a different company - can't be WORSE then the Palladium game (I hope). https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/robotech-unveils-fleet-of-updates-for-comic-and-live-action-movie-at-wondercon
  12. I liked the original series but once I saw the second Addams Family movie there could be no other Gomez Adams the Raul Julia. I will give this a look when it gets to cable or netflix though. Anyone ever see the THIRD Addams Family movie? Do yourself a favor and don't...
  13. That creature on the left reminds me of "Mac and Me" which is not a good thing of course. (not that it could be mistaken for Mac or the family but there is a resemblance)
  14. I can't say I'm desperate (or I would search more) but the list of old OVAs or series would be. Future War 198X Dirty Pair Megazone 23 (I know that one is out there somewhere). Fight Iczer 1 (that one too) Robot Carnival (Netflix has that one I think and I really ought to sit back and watch it) The Daicon IV opening (here it is - my friends and I had it on VHS and would step through it frame by frame to try and name all the characters and ships we knew).
  15. I can't tell is this is as bad as I thought it would be (and that was pretty darn bad) or WORSE.
  16. Plus - you can't do Game of Thrones in a movie since it takes time to percolate that only a series can give. The Old Republic does appear to allow a more Game of Thrones like vibe to it however.
  17. Doesn't really matter unless you have a 7 day hotel reservation - it is still impossible to get a Slinky Dog Dash Fastpass without those. Same for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train and it has been open for years now.
  18. Hell has frozen over (both by Bill and Ted 3 filming and me finding this thread to post it in). https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/bill-ted-3-face-the-music-announcement-keanu-reeves-alex-winter
  19. I guess it is not so bad an idea s the Star Trek meets Transformers comics. Really though - can't they keep ANY comic book characters in separate universes?
  20. Just watched it, well some of it, on demand and both my wife and I were bored through the part we did see. When we turned it off it still had 93 minutes left and it felt like it had been running forever up till that point. I guess I'm getting too old to enjoy endless (CGI) fight scenes with a little cornball dialog thrown in.
  21. Not just the day. I've been trying to get a Fast Pass for Slinky Dog Dash and Seven Dwarves mine train for a year now (well, since Slinky opened) and have not managed it even with a 5 day stay at a Disney hotel once. Trying again in January.
  22. Watched this, well most of it, on Netflix today. Such a disappointment. It was all I could do not to fall asleep. Voice wide Pooh and Tigger were spot on (since the normal guy was doing the voices that makes sense) but Owl, Rabbit, and Piglet just didn't fit. Eyore was just as I remember too (though I did not check to see if it was the same Voice as before). The characters just didn't look how I would have expected either.
  23. Says the millions standing outside the entrance to the land...
