  1. To this day it is the only film that has done 3d right. Since it is still not possible for a TV to replicated the 3d as it needs to be Avatar was a theater only experience. Since the plot of Avatar was nothing special it makes seeing it in a theater for the spectacle the only selling point. Side note - Luckily this latest 3d fad seems to be sputtering out again. A couple years back it was near impossible to see an Imax movie in 2d, so far every one I have wanted to see this year was either 2d only or the option existed.
  2. 2 stores is hardly worth worth the time it took to write the article. A different format of store too - much smaller. This is TRU in name only, kinda like Atari when whoever bought it revised the brand name.
  3. > I'm just coming from the stance that not everything is inherently evil I just want to state that I do not equate "cash grab" with "evil". Grabbing Cash maybe but not a cash grab. I'm still going to re-up my annual pass to Disney (though I am on the plan that only went up 10% instead of 25%) so certain cash grabs I put up with while others I do not.
  4. There is a massive difference between rereleasing years later and a couple months later with "new" footage. Maybe I'm just old and remember second run theaters doing rereleases as a matter of course.
  5. Agree with you about the older Cameo laced show. Part of the problem with the older ones were it happened when SD was losing focus, I'm guessing due to a ratings slide, so they brought in those celebrity guests and that kind of thing never works out - it just overshadows the original heart of the show. If they get the balance right with this new show it might work out well. The trailer at least looks like they might have done so.
  6. I want to say one of my usual snarky bits but this might actually work.
  7. Avatar and Titanic were rereleased years later. A few shorts months later is just a shame faced cash grab.
  8. It looks like they captured the feel of the old show, which would be a relief after some of the shows they had. Hopefully no "real" ghosts or monsters like a couple of those specials they had a few years back too.
  9. Darn Kids! Get off my internet! The Opening Credits for the Banana Splits. It was four guys in animal costumes on a cheap set used as filler in between cartoons (also done cheaply)
  10. I won't be seeing it in the theater but I WILL be seeing it. I have not been this dumbfounded since I saw Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
  11. In the time since that has been announced and today there has been nothing more done then a few scripts passed around to keep the option open AND in the meantime a Banana Splits HORROR movie has been made (or at least has a trailer out)...
  12. My mind is blown away at the idea that anyone would come up with a Banana Splits movie AND get it funded but then I see this.... I still can't believe it is not a joke.
  13. That would be pretty much par for the course then. The amount of needle threading I've seen of their previous sessions are epic. Asked if they have the rights to Macross they keep saying they have full rights to "Robotech".
  14. About an hour of listening to Reba's singing ought to do it. She seems like a nice person but her singing...
  15. I could live without it but I'll be watching it when it makes it on Netflix. Hopefully they get some large monsters in the mix - though it just isn't quite the same without the destruction of real model buildings by guys in rubber suits.
  16. Quite the slit on the side of Lisa's skirt there. I think they mistook the line edging for a slit when making the figure.
  17. I like the look when she says Dana Sterling - like they know it must be a relation to Max, Sterling being such a unique name...
  18. I'm just here to say I'm still upset that the Maelstrom ride was replaced with the Frozen one. That was an awesome ride.
  19. Another nod for Chernobyl. We NEED more engrossing docudramas like this in the world. Engrossing from start to finish, excellent acting, writing, directing, and cinematography.
  20. As for why the negativity for this film. It can be summed up in one scene. Ever since Austin Powers (?) had the evil guy showing his evil plans via power point the idea of actually doing something like that on screen is laughable - and this film did the equivalent. Sure the human bits in most Godzilla films are filler but they were not, usually, laughable.
  21. I think you have that backwards. I didn't hate the movie, I just found it utterly forgettable. EDIT - And I'm a guy that LOVES Godzilla vs the Smog Monster and that Godzilla on Monster Island debacle.
  22. Upping the Anti again. Even the Death Star only take out planets, this threat is for the entire solar system. It might be a decent action flick though.
  23. I watched a video from a guy who said the wait was 2 hours. What you can do is get in line near the end of your 4 hour window and they will not kick you out of the line. I'm not getting in a 2 hour line for anything... Rise of the Resistance is supposed to be the premier attraction for Star Wars Land with the Millennium Falcon being a B ticket perhaps (yup, I remember those ticket books).
  24. It might very well be good but I REALLY REALLY wish someone would think through the premise of shows like this. Nobody is going to send teenagers to an island with Dinosaurs running loose.
