1. Just want to see if Renato or any of our other Japan based members are going to be at the Tokyo game Show 2005, which is being held from 16th to 18th September? Of course if anybody does go, please make sure to check for news on any new upcoming Macross games. It would be great if we could finally have a sequel to the Sega/AM2 DYRL PS2 game. Graham
2. Why do I think if Yamato were to come out with a SV-51, they will stuff it up? 327955 If they get someone like Nishikawa (the guy who designed the 1/48) to do the sculpt, everything should be good and dandy. I've got confidence that they won't screw up the SV-51. But do you realize that a 1/60 SV-51 is going to be huge. I've got the Hasegawa 1/72 SV-51 and VF-0S and the SV-51 absolutely dwarfs the VF-0. Graham
3. Pretty difficult getting bootleg anime DVDs at the moment here in Hong Kong as the HK Customs authorities have been really stepping up their raids on the bootleg anime DVD shops recently and most of them are currently closed. Ands it's not like in the past, where Customs would just raid once a twice a year only and the shops would be back in business after a few days. Now, they are getting raided as soon as they try to reopen and most of them seem to have shut down for good. Graham
4. Saw the pre-production samples a couple of weeks ago together with Blackaces, Neova and Valk 009. The figures looked excellent. On seeing them, I immediately placed a preorder for Hicks, even though I don't collect or currently own a single 12" action figure. Graham
5. Gotta try to get hold of this somehow. Graham
6. When was the last time you saw an anime character of any age with hairy armpits? Graham
7. Awesome videos, although the crashes made me go ouch. Luke, you do realise that you are going to have to make a flyable APHOS as well now . It would be great if we could find some way for Kawamori to see these videos. I bet he'd get a real kick at seeing one of his creations fly for real. Graham
8. Wow, just looked at this thread for the first time. Absolutely amazing SV-51. Hope you can take and post some video clips of the thing in flight. Graham
9. Perhaps instead of those Valk icons, we could have a Spiritia level meter or something Graham
10. Not really keen on the pilot color . Mind you I've never really been a fan of the VF-1A Cannon Fodder anyway. Still going to pick up one, but only one. And that fugly box is going straight in the trash Graham
11. While space combats are great and all, it doesn't make sense to have them in every single episode just for the sake of having some space combat. The present story arcs don't require space combat and it woud be a bit out of place just to throw in some random space combat to please fans. I'm sure once these story arcs play out then we'll get some kick ass space combat. As Gaijin mentioned in an earlier post a little while ago, season 2 has had lots of CG effects already, just most of it has been in land battles with the mechanical Cylons. And you have to admit that some of those firefights were pretty cool. Graham
12. Regarding recaps, I can live with a maximum of 1 in a 26 ep series, none in a 13 ep series and an absolute maximum of 2 in a year long series. They have really ovrdone it with the high number recaps in GSD. Graham
13. Bah, it's already September 10th in this part of the world. You guys are like so yesterday . Graham
14. Heh, from the look of those pictures, if the Shadow Fighter tries firing it's gun in fighter mode, it's gone shoot itself in the back of the cockpit Graham
15. I notice at the recent Wonderfest, that Liquid Stone is also selling a 1/6 scale version of the Studio Nue Powered Armor. Here's the pics from Noel's Wonder Fest report thread in the toy forum. ToyboxDX also had some news about this kit recently and IIRC, I think a price of US$500 per kit was mentioned.....ouch! We all know that Liquid Stone is not known for being cheap . Not sure if the kit includes the 1/6 scale trooper figure or you need to supply your own 1/6 scale figure. Graham
16. Nope, no APCs anymore. The Dropships are still quite easy to find, but when we went shopping on Monday we didn't see a single APC and we looked in all the shops in Mong Kok. Graham
17. Went shopping with Blackaces, Valk009 & Neova on Monday evening and we found a couple of shops that had stock of the limited edition black version Aoshima Dropship (limited to 500pcs). Not sure why anybody would want a black version though? Graham
18. I'm betting that just like the Yamato 1/60, the Toynami Alpha was not designed using CAD, hence the poor parts fitting. Graham
19. But the SD Lunamaria is so cute Graham
20. Nah, this one reminds me more of a lobster . Graham
21. Here's a pic of my shrine to Luna. Taken on my camera phone, so it's a bit blurry. I'm still missing at least 2 Luna figures . Graham
22. Somebody please tell me that we get to see a Lunamaria Hawke sex scene before the end of the series? Then I'll forgive Bandai/Sunrise for those endless recap episodes. Also, I still think Lunamaria should get her own spin-off series or OVA. She's the only character I like in all of GSD. Graham

YF-19 two seets?

The Macross Compendium has the following to say about the YF-19's rear seat: - Note, that it is optional, not standard. Graham
24. Finally started watching this today after a friend lent me the whole set. Great stuff & really funny. Lots of homages to Macross as well as many other sci-fi anime and movies such as 2001 in episode # 3. I'm not usually into comedy anime, but this had me chuckling away. The only thing I'd recommend (as usual) is avoid the gawd awful dub. IMO the accents for the two main characters just make me cringe. Watch it in Japanese with the English subs, far superior. Graham
25. That thing has been out since 81? Are you sure? I got my set of three when they "first came out" in 2002. I'm pretty sure they were not available before that... 325545 According to the packing on the US version of the Kaiyodo toy, Studio Nue drew the design all the way back in 1979. The Armor design was later revised and updated by Nue in the 80s and used for the Starship Troopers OVA that came out in the mid-80s. Fast forward to a few years ago and Kaiyodo wants to release a Powered Armor toy and model, but it turns out that releasing the OVA version would entail higher licencing fees, so they go with the 1979 Nue version instead.
