  1. I just saw my breakfast on the floor. BTW, just want to know, how does sound travel in cold empty space? Or are those special speakers that energise subatomic masses to hypnotise the enemy?
  2. And if we add Reggie into the mix, what's it called? Wow, seriously, are they going to resolve this triangle after all these years? I mean, yeah, I read those hand-me-down-from-my-uncle Archie comics. 70 years. phew. That's gonna be a record, definitely beats "Days of our Lives" by about a few decades.
  3. Thanks. It helps alot, especially the part at the lookout. I never understand that. Like I said, M+ (movie and OVA both) are a big mess when it comes to storytelling. I didn't need help in Macross, M7 or M0 to help me understand the all the characters' motivations, hurts, feelings, etc. Heck, even EVA TV is clearer to me than M+. M+ feels more like a very good CGI animation demo rather than a good movie/OVA, imo. (I believe M+ is the 1st Macross or anime project to heavily make use of EXPENSIVE CGI effects. I still remember those heavily advertised CGI shots in magazines.) Anyway, MF and M0 more than made up for the M+ mess.
  4. I guess an M+ TV series with 13 or 26 episodes of re-telling the story properly will be necessary. This is in reference to those who likes the Lucy fan-service scenes, me who finds the action sequences in the movie edition lacking, and for everyone with finds the story in both the OVA and Movie disjointed and in general, goes huh? What's that rape sequence all about? What's the bloody backstory history between the 3 of them, and maybe expand Lucy's story/role as well. p.s. ok, I admit I like the Lucy fan-service sequence, especially since she's voiced by Ranma-chan (Megumi Hayashibara). But the movie is already short of good storytelling time for the 3 main characters. Adding Lucy into the mix didn't make it better. In general, M+ spoils my Macross experience much more than M7. Anyway, length of a series isn't necessary to tell a good story. Mzero did a good job, imo. I know all the characters background well enough from just the 5 episodes of the OVA.
  5. Thanks for the heads up. BTW, how's JSI's molding quality, model accuracy, etc? I have no idea about this company's products. So far, all the model kits I bought are Japanese or Korean. Thanks for any comments.
  6. Mooo...Mooo...I think you get the picture. It's not new to Yamato to issue re-colors. Or for that matter, all Japanese anime toy producers do the same thing. And yet, we buy them all anyway. As Obi-wan would have said "Who's the bigger fool, the fool or the fool who follows him?" or Pokemon's "Gotta Catch Them All"
  7. As you said above, that's the main reasons for exclusives. Just look at the Queen Blade/Macross figure magazine/store/expo exclusives. Guess if one is desperate enough, one can always hunt it down thru evilbay. However, I've not been that desperate for almost 3 years now.
  8. I got my Eva Rei and MF Ranka Lee from Hobby Search. And yes, they're EXPENSIVE for a 4GB memory stick. Cute, but costly. Oh well, I can always skip a few meals. http://www.1999.co.jp/search_e.asp?Typ1_c=...p;ItKey=Buffalo
  9. Same here. Guess I'll just have to make sure my LD player doesn't burn out from playing the LD version I got from Japan. Still, I wished they had replaced the un-necessary Lucy fan service with more action sequences instead.
  10. WOW! Impressive. If LEGO ever release Macross License products, at least they know who to look for to work for them.
  11. ARGGG!!! You have to remind me of her/him. Yeah, I need to budget for Yellow too.
  12. Glad to see Beagle's Houquet still on target. She's the only one I'm getting. Need to save the rest of the cash for the 1/2000 SDF-1 and those 1/72 Bandai MF Valk kits.
  13. To Bri and Roy Focker: Your points of views noted and understood. Yeah, now that I recall, I have problems explaining to my ex why I was in my University Anime Club, especially after the media cover stories on the Urotsukidoji phenomenon. So at that time immediately afterwards, all anime seemed to be associated with tentacle porn, rape, and orgies. This, after coming from the 80s era of anime dealing with romantic love stories and classic literature (Candy Candy, Heidi) and giant robo/mecha stuff. No help to me that the University club also screened Bubblegum Crisis and AD Police when I took my ex there. (especially the latter series with the replicant sex workers, train rape, and sex with cyborg scenes)
  14. Good news then. Mospeada Sales at HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?SaleGroup=SP00705 Of SPECIAL NOTE: BEAGLE 1/10 Mospeada Variable Type Armor Cycle VR-052F Stick Type going for 35% OFF RETAIL at 15,600 yen. Just want to highlight to Mospeada fans here. Personally, I'm only gonna buy a Houquet or Yellow. (Hot Red and Cool Blue), if they ever make one. However, since this one is going for clearance already, I think the likelihood of more Mospeada releases are pretty slim now. Looks like the anniversary hype is over. I never liked the stardard issue ones Ray and Stick ride in. Anyway, I'm out of spare cash from a long list of other pre-orders and the economic meltdown, the current bear market rally not withstanding.
  15. This highlight makes me bought an online ticket for this evening's show.
  16. The seams are definitely visible, since the clothes are cast in 2 parts (at least) and meant to be removable. So no choice there if one wants a castoffable dollie. Unless, all the dollie wears is an apron (cough...QB MILF Cattleya) or thin strappy armor plating (cough...QB Leina) Check out Nanael, the polka dotted panty wearing QB angel. The clothes seams are definitely visible. I wasn't big on dollie figure collecting either until the MegaHouse QB figures came along - great quality, scale (their 1/8 is comparable to 1/6 from other companies) and price compared to other maufacturers. Also Yamato and Bandai wasn't doing a good QC job on their mecha/giant robot stuff/chogokin. Unlike you lucky chaps in US/HK/Japan, we in SG don't have the luxury of having broken parts/bad QC parts replaced. Hence, I switched from spending US$200 a pop (inc shipping) on giant robos to collecting US$50 a pop on dollies. Correction: I think for this Sheryl figure, you may have 2 switchable bodies instead: 1 with the blue riding suit, 1 with the black bra strap, so you have to pop off the head and maybe lower body to attach to either one. Why? Because the price is 6800yen, higher than the normal 5700yen for a bikini monster Ranka. That 1000yen usually means some additional part. Also, notice the color of the gloves between the 2 costumes are different, and the arms are usually not removable from the long sleeves. Just my guess though. Hope to see the actual product in 2 months time.
  17. Actually, if my sources are correct, all 3 companies listed above are BANDAI subsidiaries. Don't ask me why BANDAI needs to have 3 subsidiaries selling essentially the same thing, or why it couldn't release them under it's own BANDAI brand either. Guess I'm lucky (or is that unlucky?) I don't have a significant other to love and grow old with. It's alright. It's already written into my destiny. The week I was born, the No.1 song on the billboard charts is Gilbert O'Sullivan's Alone Again, naturally. My recommendation: spend the money on your GF.
  18. Thanks for reminding me I've lots of anime to catch up on. For me, this list just shows me that the producers know who their target audience is - normal hot blooded males. For males of other disposition, there's other lists to cater to them. Just as the female audience will have their own list. Sometimes the lists overlap, but very seldomly. For me, the Macross series is basically a GIANT robot series with love triangles. Hence, the target audience is still males. If the series managed to capture a substantial female crowd, that's an unintended bonus for the producers.
  19. The raised parts are supposedly for wrist comfort. Unfortunately, since the way the padding is position usually means your wrist ends up in the valley of the Cleavage, hence the support isn't there. Pun intended. As I've stated, I have similar types of mousepads by the same company from the current fan service galore with thin plot anime - Queens Blade. And it isn't very good for game mousing. For game mousing, I suggest you look for other professional gaming products instead. This pad isn't even for normal mousing. It's meant as a anime tie-up collectible, nothing more. Thanks for that Lucy topless scene reminder in M+. Definite gratituous fan-service scene there. The plot doesn't even require one to see Isamu bed Lucy in fact. Oh well...
  20. As a big collector of MegaHouse figures (Thanks to their line of Queen's Blade boobage), I can assure you their quality is excellent (as far as fixed posed female figures go ; no comments on their less than excellent poseable Mospeada male action figures... ) However, if you're thinking of swapping between dressed up and un-dressed poses often, I suggest you get 2 of them. The thinner plastic clothes and figure head/arm/leg pegs don't like to be handled too often, and you may rub the nice body sculpt with the clothes' paint accidentally too.
  21. Well, I watch anime for the fantastic artwork done, when it's for mecha (GiTS) or boobs (QB, Ikkitosen) or both (MF). And let's be honest, Japanese TV animation artwork far surpasses the American TV ones these days. I used to like American animation (think 80s Superfriends, He-man, Flash Gordon, Galaxy Rangers, MASK, Starcom, the 1st series of early 90s X-men, Batman, Superfriends animation), but apparently, for some unknown reason, USA quality has gone to the dogs after that. I guess we can always blame 'out-sourcing'.
  22. I take it you don't like Queen's Blade then? Now that's a series made for the otakus with various forms of fetishes all fully covered. (Lolicon, MILF, big boobs, flat chests, petite polka dotted pantied angel, SM strapon devil, etc) The latest addition to the family is a texas chainsaw equipped loli valkyrie. Wow, I didn't think a boobied mousepad based on MF female characters will actually generated so much debate on moral/social/otaku values. How about some comments on the usefulness on the actual product itself? I've own a couple of similar mousepads myself (courtesy of the Queen's Blade series), and I can tell you honestly, it's not a good mousepad. It's actually bad for game mousing. I prefer my US$15 razor Extreme X solid aluminium mousepads over these gimmicky ones for mousing anytime. If one knowingly pays 4000yen for a limited release character collectible mousepad, then that's ok. But if one thinks for 4000yen, you will get a supreme gaming mousepad, one had better shop elsewhere. Again, I stress, the 'boobs' don't support your wrists properly while mousing (because of the "Valley of Cleavage"), and the pad surface isn't very good for smooth mousing either. That's my reviews after using the QB/Ikkitosen series of similar type mousepads.
  23. And then I can collect them all to satisfy my Harem-con. Anyway, very nice buy.
  24. I'll definitely spread my purchases over a few years, unless there's a clearance sales at 90% discount or I strike the lottery. I did a search for M7 CDs and the list is I'll probably try to get those with duets first, then those with songs by Milene, the soundtracks and finally songs by Basara. (Might skip Basara if cash is really tight... )
  25. Is that pre or post dating the Alpha and Beta/Theta from Mospeada? Thanks
