I would actually say SW fans knew what they wanted. After RoTJ, there was an entire Expanded Universe that carried the characters along believable arcs with compelling stories and villainous villains. But then it was thrown out, and everything the fans thought they knew that happened after RoTJ went with it. So instead of Han and Leia struggling but surviving in their marriage and having several children and vaunted careers, Han is still just a smuggler who has had no growth and is still struggling to make do, and estranged from Leia who is now just a commander of a fringe force. Rather than an Imperial Remnant and a resurgent Sith, we get the oddly named First Order and the Knights of Ren who have no backstory other than a title and a nightmare scene only a few seconds long, and Snoke who has no history at all when compared to Palpatine. And instead of Luke struggling to rebuild the Jedi, while winning and then losing Mara, he's turned into a curmudgeon who is so frozen with fear that he won't do anything when his friends and family are threatened. This is the guy who faced the evil Emperor and saved his father's immortal soul, but instead he's just turned in an old fart spending his days wandering an island and drinking blue titty-milk... And envelopes were pushed when Mara was killed by her nephew, Han and Leia's son, and when Chewie died... This was the fear when they threw out the EU. I remember remarking when the decision was made, as to why they wouldn't use it? The plans and back stories were there to be cherry-picked and thrown up onto the big screen in a grand cavalcade of sagas, events supported by and fondly looked upon by the fans - but instead... ugh... That is where the worst decision of all was made. Sadly, I had that thought too and it was echoed by others in reviews. It's similar to the first trailer for TFA and TLJ, but yes a definite pron vibe. As to Kylo, he's not a Skywalker who would be descended from Luke, but a Solo. He was Ben Solo. I would find it incredibly odd for him to suddenly take on the name of the man who, in his eyes, was intent on killing him. I would find it much more likely, if he ever returned to the Light, that he would instead seek to atone for killing his father by retaking his rightful name. And I really hope that Kylo dies at the end of this anyway, having fully embraced the Dark Side and never giving up on it. I think The Rise of Skywalker refers to Rey. Not because she may still somehow be Luke's daughter, but because she may choose to take on the name in remembrance and honor to Luke. If they do keep that she has no parents and was just thrown away, then she has no last name anyway and is free to choose how she will identify herself. If Palpatine is in this as much as I hope he is, then I hope we get a scene where she states to him, 'I am a Skywalker, like my Master before me...'

Sadly, no interest. Not no interest in a Star Wars series, but no interest in the character of Cassian. Why couldn't they have done a series about Wedge? Set it just after Ep 6 and tell the rebuilding of the Republic. That would be interesting.

I guess it's just you and me, man. Save you a seat in the theater! I'll try and keep my Hype from Rising though, because the trailers for TLJ looked good too. But still, Rian is not directing and I did like TFA even though it was a hybrid between a reboot and a sequel. So far, all this looks really good. And of course, Palpatine for the win! When the franchise is in danger, you call out the Emperor!

I have no idea! My fingers twitched and hit something in a certain sequence and put that up, which was impossible to get off the post. I dunno!

I will be seeing it in theater. I liked TFA (as well as JJTrek) and will give JJ a chance to pull a Hail Mary play. It would be great if the opening scene could be Finn waking up from the coma he was in, and we find that TLJ was a dream... It will be hard though, because Rian left most of the right fruit on the vine and picked almost all the sour ones. Time will tell, and certainly not teasers or trailers, as they all looked better than the actual movie...

Which is why it would need to be refurbished. I'm assuming its tech is a bit hardier than any modern or WWII age equivalent, but doubt seriously that it would be flight worthy without a complete tear-down. But this is the movies. That can be done in one two minute montage scene. As for Poe, again movies can be very forgiving of character idiocy and he is the likeliest candidate - unless Rey gets the hot seat...

Could be fan-art, could be a test-shot. As for Luke's X-Wing, it definitely looked like it was put there to stay. Luke had no intention of ever leaving Atchoo after he got there and stupidly cut himself off from the Force. (thanks Rian!) I can imagine it being resurrected though. With no other ships left but the Falcon, and knowing an X-Wing is just sitting there waiting to be refurbished and used, they could pick it up. I could see Poe flying it - if they are doing that.

I agree it is not a perfect movie, but rather than answer any of the questions left by TFA, all Rian did was to ignore them or just give more questions. A lot that was left hanging in TFA was left hanging, which is not good for a story teller creating the middle of a trilogy. And that would be fine too. But be careful, when you quest for new designs you may end up getting just another thing like the StarFortress bomber... I would love to see some new designs, but at the risk of getting more Resistance bombers - or that gawd-aweful B-Wing-bashed transport! - I would prefer something familiar and beloved.

Captain Marvel was a great movie. It was fun and energetic and Brie Larson was perfect for it. Saw it three times and I may go for a fourth. If Kalama Kahn shows up down the road and it is done with the same strength as has been shown in most Marvel/Avenger movies then I'll more than likely enjoy that too. Bring it!

I do hope that they do that. The Resistance at the end of TLJ had nothing but the Falcon and a couple dozen Rebels, and if they keep to the story line, then no assistance is coming either. They have to get ships from someplace and I would love to see some legacy ships from ANH showing up again, esp if they don't make any visual changes to them From what I've heard and the look of the helmet in that poster, it has been pieced back together again. I hope there is a good reason for it. He can't undo much, but I really he can walk some of the Rian stuff in TLJ back. I hope Lando doesn't die... There were no good things that Rian did in TLJ... I liked The Force Awakens. It was a fun movie that set-up the new trilogy, but all the good in it was dropped by Rian who didn't want to play from JJ's 'mystery boxes' and did his own thing instead. IMHO what he did sucked. He could have given us a back story for Snoke. No, he killed him instead. He could have given Rey a better backstory than that she was simply abandoned, but no according to Kylo, she was. He could have given us the Knights of Ren, but not. He could have pushed ahead with a grand tale of the Resistance struggling against a resurgent Imperial Remnant, but instead he gave us a two hour car chase with a National Lampoon's Side-trip to Las Vegas tacked on... I was disappointed with most of TLJ, not the least of which with what he did to Luke. Everything about Luke in TLJ was an utter failure, and then he has him die off with a whimper... I will say that scene with him against Kylo was awesome - until it was revealed that it was nothing but a fake-out. If somehow JJ could erase TLJ, I would stand and applaud, but that would be just fantasy. I have hope though that he can pull Rian's Mess out of the trash he willingly dumped it into and give us a good end to this trilogy. I feel like dropping to my knees in prayer... (if I was religious...)

The thing is, there is room for Kamala Kahn later down the road. Give it another ten years or so and we may see her.

Thanks! I'm staying mostly away from the decals though. I'm going to paint all of the colors on it, and only use the pennants, registry and windows of the decal sheet. And yes, those panel lines are wide and deep. The one good there is about them is that being so helped with masking the panel borders.
