Post Skywalker Saga Star Wars Movies
Seto Kaiba replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nah, this is a Star Wars project. The obvious villains are the writers. 😜 Writing is the franchise's Achilles heel. An all-star cast and stunning visuals are simply a matter of throwing enough money at the project. You can't simply buy a compelling creative vision or turn that vision into a viable screenplay by just throwing money at it. It doesn't really matter how good your actors are or how bottomless your VFX budget is if the story you're telling is badly composed or just boring. Like The Acolyte, The Book of Boba Fett, Solo: a Star Wars Story, etc.- 401 replies

The cheapest option is probably the hg kit. It’s practically toy like, but requires some assembly. Although it is a modern Bandai kit, so assembly is fairly simple

These models are the same ones linked to before. See the thread linked here. I just checked and all links are still valid. https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/51863-macross-models/

Bandai has been a bit better with their model teases lately. They usually get a tease then almost immediately a preorder. Not too long ago, there’d be a teaser image and then not even a prototype. I remember the rg gm and a few other Zeon kits that never happened.

Yikes to that box art?! I think I prefer bad Sunbow animation. Actually it all makes perfect sense now, no wonder my parents back in the day would say things like "Do you need this? It seems like a waste of money?". With art like that it is fully understandable that it was not making a convincing case for the toy. 😄- 17574 replies

Takara's Toyrise line of Votoms might be of interest to you, they are priced around 8000 Yen (incl. tax) but go lower on pre-orders. Though be aware that they are only 1/48 scale (~8.5 cm). Current line up consists of Scopedog Red Shoulder Custom, Melchia variant, "Space Dog" and Turbo Custom. https://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tsparkofficial/toyrise/ https://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tsparkofficial/toyrise/sd01_redshoulder/

Almost done then screwed up the roundel on the wing…in the process of replacing it and flattening the No steps placards.
-
Are there any relatively cheap Votoms available right now that lean more towards toy to be played with than $200+ collector item?

Treated myself to a birthday present. I like the blast effects included with the Commander figures. I wish Bandai would include them with their Valkyries.- 17574 replies

I was just saying in one of the other threads, gundam fans are still meming about the missing MG Age kits to this day, and those aren't the only things that have gone missing after announcements or prototypes going on display.
-
Loved the Macross Cannon from the moment I saw it! Great job on the kit. Is this available?
-
Beautiful! Which marketplace? I haven’t been following the usual 2nd-hand retailers lately.

valve console sounds interesting -
i'm skeptical but will wait. they had a history of taking metal build orders and never fulfilling them in the past. I was certain Riobot wouldn't be limited print as Bandai but a bit worried. Maybe i shouldn't....

sc_planet started following Macross II Cannon

I am a big fan of the mecha design of Macross II, especially the Cannon. Very glad to see the product in wonder festival 2024 which was a huge improvement from the release many years ago.
