  1. Past hour
  2. I kinda get that feeling as well, especially since there’s so much talk about what went on just before we get to what’s going on here as though we missed something somewhere
  3. Next inline for Hot Toys Star Wars figures
  4. Each arc is almost like a 3-hour movie. Kinda thankful they didn’t try to stretch these out into a season a piece. Yeah, there’s the initial “What did I miss?” feeling at the start of each arc. But it’s not hard to figure out what’s happened in the interim.
  5. That's not what's happening here. Every three episodes take place over a short amount of time. They aren't taking place over a year.
  6. Today
  7. They kept the original blue-white coloration that was chosen back in the days when Gundam's animation was hand-drawn. It was chosen because a pure white makes it harder to draw light effects. 'course, the whole "White Gundam" thing goes back to the original series where the Gundam was called the "White Guy" or "White Devil" by Zeon for its white paintjob... and Tomino's desire to have the whole thing just be flat white before getting overruled by marketing.
  8. By looking where the new toy differs from the original I can see what I think are some indications of what they were trying to do. This is what I have come up with so far.
  9. Wow, now that's an expensive piece of something not many of us are even aware of, or care of to spend that type of money. It's a cool piece, but for that price, well, yeah, no! It's cool that you have a set of them.
  10. This is the early days of the Rebellion, after all. The Rebel Alliance hasn't been founded yet at this point in the timeline. Luthen et. al. are maintaining and supporting a network of independent rebel groups as best they can, but each group is still a separate entity with its own chain of command and its own agenda and priorities. There's no central command. No official training regimen. Each rebel cell has to make do with the volunteers they can find and whatever teachable skills they bring with them. For every elite rebel group like Luthen's, Hera's, or Saw's that has had actual military training, prior combat experience, significant technical skills, and/or the benefit of plot haxx like Jedi and Mandalorians, there are dozens like the Ghorman Front or Maya Pei Brigade that are made up of normal people whose only real qualifications are being angry enough with the Empire to pick up a blaster and shoot someone over it. The ones with good leadership, discipline, planning, and luck will last long enough to gain experience and grow more effective as insurgents. The ones who don't... well... you've seen what happened to the Maya Pei Brigade. That's why Mon Mothma's call for a Rebel Alliance is such a game-changer. Consolidating the individual rebel movements into a single cohesive organization allowed the rebels with critical skills and experience to train the inexperienced civilian volunteers into effective spies and soldiers for their war with the Empire.
  11. Mike I have been enjoying the reviews you post here on Macross world. I an really enjoying this set, and I have had no QC issues with mine. I have appreciated the improved cartoon accuracy of the Haslab version as well as the improved stability and articulation in all modes. I have not found the Sword to be to be that awkward to play with. if you have him hold it two handed, I tabbed the sword handle in his right hand, and just have the left hand wrapped around the handle. He is holding it with his right elbow bent at 90 degrees, and the left arm pushing down the handle to hold the sword at the angle I want. He was easy to balance without using the stand, and easily held the pose for hours. I am feeling the opposite, he handles his sword really well for how huge it is! I am the least satisfied with Blue Bolts, I like the idea of it transforming to a robot, bit the execution of that idea falls short in my opinion. You can re-arrange the parts to make different weapon configurations, but none of them are held together solidly enough to be fun to play with. The most solid one is the the way it is mounted on Omega Prime, or the vehicle mode, but to put it on Ultra Magnus's robot mode you have to disconnect the two tabs that keep it stable. Trying to tab the white shoulder hinge into the holes in his forearms is a pain to get it in the hole, the minute you put pressure on the gun part to attach it, the white hinge collapses into the blue shoulder part, because there is not solid stop to prevent it. the hinge piece is hard to get back out because the only grip you can get on it is the groove cut in the end of the post that i have to use my fingernail to get out. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the "Fan-mode" for using all of the fire truck parts as additional armor for Omega Prime.
  12. That build is looking great! I never new the glue could be removed from old decals. Always figured they would be ruined once you water to them. Thanks for the great tip! Did you apply Decal Setter? Or another adhesive to make the decals stick? Great Build.
  13. Thanks!! Yes need to source the posters next 😁. This is the third floor!! Took several of us, alcohol, and good spirits to get these up there. We had one heck of a workout. I partnered with HighFlow in Netherlands to spec these cases. Happy these turned out great and share the love to protect these. https://www.highflow.nl/?match=all&subcats=Y&pcode_from_q=Y&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&search_performed=Y&q=macross&dispatch=products.search
  14. I really wish this 2nd, and last season was actually 4 full seasons as originally intended. Each of these 3-episode blocks feel like an anime compilation movie. We just seeing highlights of things. Interesting plot points that you want to see expanded will be gloss over during the next block.
  15. Great work @pengbuzz! Nice work on the hinges, and the helmsman is clearing trying out a new evasive manuever.
  16. I don’t get it. Isn’t this what happens with most collectibles that have a limited run?
  17. My watch group finished up the new batch of Andor episodes last night. I'm pretty satisfied with the story thus far. They didn't... the Ghorman Massacre hasn't happened yet. Apparently, as something of an olive branch to the Legacy fans, they decided to keep the pre-Disney version as a separate but less-severe event as a way of establishing the rising tensions on Ghorman. The series'll be headed back to Ghorman in future episodes, since the massacre is a pivotal event that directly gives rise to the Rebel Alliance. Yeah, Saw is... a unique personality. He was never the most stable person in the galaxy. When we first see him in The Clone Wars about 17 in-universe years before these Andor episodes, he was already a bitter and violent man fighting in a guerilla resistance movement against the Separatist occupation of his homeworld Onderon. Then the Republic sent Jedi and clones to train the Onderon resistance, which only made them better at guerilla warfare. He became even more unstable when his sister was killed fighting the Separatist droid army... and it's basically been all downhill from there. 20 years of nonstop guerilla warfare against the Separatists, and then the Empire, with the accompanying stress and paranoia has not done great things for his mental state and he's going to get even worse in the next few years until he dies on Jedha in Rogue One. It's not surprising Luthen is still willing to work with him, since Saw's partisans are basically the oldest and most experienced rebel faction out there and the ones with the fewest qualms about their goal of burning the Empire down. Once Mon Mothma forms the Rebel Alliance, his lot refuse to join because most rebels think he goes too far and Saw thinks every other rebel group doesn't go too far enough.
  18. Captain's log: Thursday, May 1st, 2025. Some of the components for this 1/48 project are going to be on the large side, and because of that, I'll need to cobble some Renshape blocks together. You can see this in pic 21, and this piece will eventually become the main hull/chest of the mecha. In pic 22, I'm checking the block size with the paper template before I stick it down. I want the block to be a little bit larger. Pic 23: I'm putting that resin bar stock to work on the lathe now. While I can carve resin faster than metal, I still have to mind my pace because whenever you machine a part, it gets hot. If too much heat builds up in the resin, it can become soft and cause the cutting knife to jam and potentially damage the part (and the machine!) Pic 24: here I am test-fitting the part for snugness by mating it with an existing crotch component. This piece will eventually become the mecha's 'waist.' Because many of these parts are big & heavy, I prefer they fit tighter so as to hold together better when built. Pic 25: here's the inglorious side of machining: piles and piles of resin 'hay' and Renshape shavings. You'd be shocked at how much of this stuff is produced with every project! Pic 26: I'm going to turn some Renshape on the lathe, and it's a pretty big part, so I start by checking the measurements on my diagram using my trusty compass-cutter. Pic 27: using the same compass-cutter, I now score a circle to the exact diameter I need from a larger block of material. Pic 28: I then trim the part from the larger plank of Renshape, leaving at least 3mm of wiggle-room. Pic 29: here I've removed most of the excess with the band saw, and the part is almost ready to be mounted to the lathe. Pic 30: using some CA glue, I attach a resin mandrel to the part. The latter is perfectly round, so the lathe chuck will hold it securely, while the knife can attack the Renshape end. Pic 31: because the part is so big, I enlist the dead-center to help hold the part during machining: this is critical, especially in the early stages when the part isn't perfectly round and the cutter jams into Renshape then air at high speed, causing the part to vibrate. Once again, I have to proceed slowly because of the vibration and the largeness of the part. Pic 32: after a LOT of machining (and vacuuming!), the piece within is being revealed! This will eventually become part of the missile pod's interface with the shoulder joint. Pic 33: more blocks being readied with paper patterns, about to go under the band saw. Pic 34: the tedious process of carving-away excess material begins; there's just no way around it. Pic 35: once the band saw has done its part, the chest module now goes to the mill for proper surfacing. Pic 36: It may not look like much, but these parts were a LOT of work! Things are starting off slow, simply by virtue of the size of the components needing to be made and the preparation they require. By next week, you'll see a drastic improvement, with lots of recognizable parts coming together, so stay tuned! 21.HEIC 22.HEIC 23.HEIC 24.HEIC 25.HEIC 26.HEIC 27.HEIC 28.HEIC 29.HEIC 30.HEIC 31.HEIC 32.HEIC 33.HEIC 34.HEIC 35.HEIC 36.HEIC
  19. Nice I like it 7.5/10 > The best current MCU after Spidy No way Home and Dp&W.
  20. I know the rebels had some questionable members, but this show makes them seem a certain kind of special. Now whenever I see an X-Wing, dueling banjos will be stuck in my head
