And apparently, 12 different batteries (one for each section). Hope they have an option to connect them all to one master battery box or something..

The should have included it with the sticker sheet from Kaksaki's VF-1, but I don't think think the GBP was announced by then! Oh well next time! π€ You could always get this one and add it!

Why don't we get the sexy lady leg art Bandai?

I. think that this image which was also on the Takatoku box art is more to the original idea of the designers and would say it's cannon! Everything else was an interpretation to sell more models or toys! But honestly I'm Generation X, so as long as it looks great.... I.D.G.A.F! π±

All parts on the Terror Mirage finally primed and ready. Paint for the armor should arrive today. Sooo excited! I primed and painted most of the frame parts but had to wait on others since I ran out of clips. Lol

@ChasThats great! Use it or lose it and making your own recipe sounds awesome! @505thAirborneDamn that sucks! I was always curious about what folks do on lighting in models if they stop working. I imagine implementing a hatch for possible repairs may or may not be possible based on the construction. I guess like you said now itβs just an awesome build without lights.

First pass at a Frontier-style workroid. Both the Frontier and Delta workroids are just the Cheyenne with various amounts of editing, but I was surprised at how much of a Cheyenne they both are. Also surprised at the game modelers, who went ahead and made all the shoulder and back parts even though they're covered by the giant missile launchers and other bits on the actual Cheyenne. They really saved me a lot of time, I just had to delete stuff and make arms for it! Started with the Frontier workroid because it was the least editing, Delta version and textures to come soon (along with the warning lights).

GALACTICA Update, well, two of the LED strips I installed already burned out or broke... defective? Either way, they won't light up anymore and sadly, the plastic feels very brittle at this point. This is the old 1980's release. If I try to open the ship up now (She's all glued and sealed up) I'm going to break it. So at this point, this might just be a really nice static Battlestar with no lights.

Yeah, he mentions that in the main-page disclaimer as coloring provided by fan artists. But they were nice colorings, nevertheless.

i need inverse kite and Coca-Cola on my missiles.

Mr March did the color himself on those and told people to take them with a grain of salt as I recall it.

Yeah, but it's not colored. Does it state there about the roundel's coloring? The interesting discussion is about the roundel's coloring. @grogall mentioned he read somewhere (possibly some mook-source(s)) that the reversed-kite roundel on early box-arts and Bandai's 1/48 GBP is due to some "aerial" classification or something. @tekering stated that official mook-sources are full of extrapolations that sometimes contradict what is canon. I posted the anime canon snapshots above to show which destroids actually were detailed sporting the reversed-kite and the regular non-reversed kite roundels. Fwiw, we usually go to M3 for full-page translated specs and stuff of original line-arts we own, and the respective TV and DYRL Armored-Valk pages on it have these nicely fan-artists colored detailed ones that sports the regular roundel: tv: dyrl: --- Depends on which shop and which shipping methods (ecms, dhl, fedex, etc) you choose. Prolly anywhere between 15% to full 30%, among other additional fees.

I'd assume so. Either that or he's just been given a massive amount of computer memory in order to continue functioning without running out of space like he did in Voyager. IMO, one of the weirder aspects of NuTrek's 31st/32nd Century setting is how the writers lack of respect for continuity has led to Federation technology either not advancing at all in 800 years or actually regressing in many areas for no clear reason.

15% of what you paid plus a handling fee of about $15 plus the jacked up shipping rate the express services are charging now since the local services all tapped out.
-
Anyone have an idea of what the tariff charges would be on one of these? I caved and ordered a Roy VF-1S from AmiAmi. Haven't shopped with them since the tariffs went into effect.

Haven't done any modeling today, but I just perfected a home made thinner that let's me spray my wife's old artist's acrylics (from tubes/jars) through my airbrush. So now I have a huge supply of acrylic paints that I can use (straight from the container, or mixed into custom colours) for my modeling. My wife hasn't done any painting in a few years, but the paints are all in good shape though; I made sure they were stored well. I'm particularly excited about the multiple large jars of white gesso, as I have been using a lot of white lately.

For my tastes, Transformers, and transforming toys in general, appeal from all aspects, not just one in particular, which is why the FT offerings just aren't appealing to me. MMC grabs my attention, as I'm a longtime fan of their products (more of my 3P MP collection are MMC toys than any other) and I'm enamored by their all-in-one engineering, which is the pinnacle of what I desire in a combiner, but also on the merits of the aesthetics of both the bot and vehicle modes. IMHO, they're knocking it out of the park, even if the toon look isn't my particular fancy. It is, however, the trend, alas, and I grudgingly accept it. That said, while it's a close race, I think I'm even more taken by X-Transbots' Constructicons. Every figure that they've released thus far has been beautifully executed. There's a part of me that would love to replace, or accompany my old ToyWorld Devastator, and if I had to choose between XTB and MMC, I'd have a hard time making that choice. I'm very reluctantly passing on these, as I simply don't have space for another MP scaled combiner, but we as fans have some impressive options before us. The only actual bummer is that they're not all designed to work universally with one another, as being able to pick and choose from amongst the three companies' toys based on preferences would be grand. However, we're still spoiled for choice and that's a good thing. Ultimately, I'm an articulation fan, and I'd probably go with MMC just for the cumulative number of boxes they check.- 9468 replies

Regarding Astrotrain, I wouldn't mind a heavy retool that addressed the major i8ssues with his alt modes, namely the entire unfinished upper aft section of his shuttle mode and basically the entirety of his locomotive mode which was just a hot mess from start to finish. His bot mode was the only thing they got right with that figure, and I hope they're able to do him justice with this new release. Mech Fans Toys did it far, far better at legends scale, so one would think Takara could do at least as good with a leader budget. As to Shockwave, his G1 gun mode was far enough removed from reality that I never understood the need to deviate or change it. I hope this new toy does the character justice as well and that he's pretty-darned close to the G1 toy in both modes. Takara's Overgear stuff is mildly interesting thus far. I've no intention of buying either, but the fact that they seem to want to do their own proprietary take on Transformers apart from Hasbro is interesting on its face. I get the sense that Hasbro saddles them with far too many restrictions and a line like this allows them some freedom while remaining on-brand. I'm curious to see what they do with it over time. I wonder how they'd go about realizing Jetfire. Would they attempt to do an SR-71, or, like Blackout, opt for an entirely different sort of airframe (than Bayformers), albeit a large one, say, perhaps, more like the B-!B? Or perhaps something completely fictional "based" on a real aircraft. Time will tell, I suppose, depending on the success of these initial figures.- 18072 replies
