@Big s I had no idea that sharpie had metallic colored markers. The build looks great and thanks for the heads up. Might have to track a couple of the markers down. Did you do a top coat over them?
-
On a note, I hope Bandai doesn't skimp out on this version since the regress seat isn't seen anywhere on the official pictures?

Those sharpie applications look great. And I wholeheartedly agree, the tone is just metal enough and not over bearing. Just perfect. I still use them to this day. My uses for White Out as a paint was due to being poor growing up and using what ever resource possible to paint. Heck I would use it for die-cast car customs. My proudest creation was completely painting over a 911 Porsche with White Out and painting a wide black Sharpie stripe on top and writing “Skunk” on the sides. Sure it wasn’t the proper coloring, but to me it was awesome! 😄 -
@pengbuzz Check this out. Good things I made friends with a 3D printing madman who doesn't mind printing lots of crap for me. I'm gonna get him a model kit to send him in exchange someday. I'm heading to America next week, so I've arranged to have him send this stuff to my dad's place while I stay there. Here is the bridge to the 537 K'Tinga. Too bad I couldn't have gotten to you earlier. This looks fantastic. My K'tinga can beat up your K'Tinga! It also has improved engines, so I can slice the molded ones off and place the improved ones onto the kit instead. It comes with clear inserts too. The only thing I'll have to do is try to make the bulb part look decent somehow, plus scratchbuild the disruptors on the underside of the wings. And I also had him print this Rei from Evangelion. She looks great! Rei.jp

Un-ironically, that was awesome!

So, I grabbed a 25-G Rev. Ver. on a whim yesterday. How should I feel about it?
-
yeah! I went back into my basement to check and yeah, the sides look normal, but the picture looks really blue tinted.
-
And done. It is interesting how these kits can look good without any mayor coloring (speaking:priming, airbrushing and coating). This was all done with tamiya panel line color, permanent markers and liquid chrome (also some sort of permanent marker). I hope Basara and Mylene can attract some Spiritia to fix the strawberry plants in the background. XD

The theory was that Valkyrie Factory decided to offer the Jetfire under another name in case they got hammered by Hasbro/TT over it, while VF could continue as a brand unscathed. What Fugu has shown us, and most especially with v2, is that VF are at least willing to invest in more paint scheme changes, which does raise some hope for more VF-1 variants; maybe even those CFs or ABs which they had previously announced. I seriously wish they watched a thread like this.

Yeah, M&M is a higher tier desire for most, I'd expect.

Best paint for Bandai DX plastic? (adhesion/durability)
pengbuzz replied to David Hingtgen's topic in The Workshop!
That's why I said to carefully wipe it down; 91% alcohol is especially notorious for that. Thanks for mentioning it specifically though, PsYcHoDyNaMiX; I might not have been clear enough. -

Okay; that said, were there interest, I bet it could fund a small government. -

Avoid going over any existing paint/tampo with alcohol, most paints that companies (now a days) use on toys are acrylic base. The alcohol will wear or take the coat/paint off. -

Assuming Sheryl's "VEGA" black card works the same way as its real world equivalents, that wouldn't be a concern. That Sheryl has a black card is a pretty clear indicator that her status as the galaxy's #1 idol has made her fabulously wealthy. That the card issuer, "VEGA", doesn't decline Sheryl's attempt to charge what must have been a literal fortune to her personal card in order to hire an entire PMC is proof that she has absolutely ridiculous amounts of money at her disposal. That she's still stunned rigid by the size of the invoice is a pretty solid argument that hiring a PMC like SMS must be a hugely expensive undertaking in its own right too. 😆 -

Ugh what's the obsession of a lottery. It's not like they going to get a cut of a secondary market prices. just make it store exclusive item like the VF-1J last year.

Wow, white out is something I never got desperate enough to try. I do however still use sharpies on details here and there. The metallic ones do great for mechanical parts since they’re very smooth and don’t really have a flaky look even though they’re a bit duller. Oddly they still look like the dull metal in stuff like engine components even after a little dull coat.all the gold and silver around the eye and the pistons and gun barrel parts were done with metallic sharpies. I kinda like that they aren’t distractingly shiny, but they do still catch the light depending on the lighting.

You gotta do the setup with them all facing the camera in line, like a full transformation scene

I remember using only “White Out” and a “Sharpie” to do all the details on this 1/144 kit. Sir you have unlocked “my childhood.” You deserve a badge of achievement. 🤗 -
