I thought the rails are where you place the lengthwise-folded dollar bills. Allegedly. Or so I’m told. Speaking of rails, “Toy”rise hasn’t added a railgun version yet?

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie - April 2026
kanedaestes replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just saw the film. I enjoyed it, just a rollercoaster of a film. If you are expecting much from it you will be disappointed. However I will say after seeing it, I need a Star Fox movie- 17 replies

Having this be a VF-25 instead of a VF-1 makes perfect sense from an aesthetic approach; after all, the Messiah is the closest Macross air/spaceframe in overall look to the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. Got to say, I'm highly tempted to get a copy because it looks great and, like Yamato's 1/48 VF-1A Low Vis (to this day, one of my all-time favorites), "grounded" in realism.

Flawless launch. Congratulations to everyone involved and Godspeed to ARTEMIS II for a successful mission. Next 10 days are going to be interesting and inspiring. -
Yes, the dog is a big part, but it is not the whole movie. It's one of the motivators, but it is not the only one.

Safe SRB separation!! -
That’s like saying the dog is only a small part in the John Wick franchise, even though we know that’s what it’s all about or that the cat is only a small part of the Keanu movie even though we know the cat was really the star
-
Nah that’s only one part of the athletic abilities of the ladies of the night. There’s also the Streetwalker marathon that’s usually started when the red and blue lights start to flash, the stripper pole climb and spin, the wallet wrestling competition and a few other notable sports activities all done while wearing high heels

The dog is just the main focus of this trailer, and is only a small part of the whole movie, The previous trailer went into the deeper story line.

Fair solar winds and calm space, Artemis!! -
I thought the essential skill for a stripper is the ability to spin around and slide down a pole. . . . . At least that’s what “not-so-close friends” and “distant associates” always say.

I don’t know about most used by a company, but one of the oldest that comes to mind that get reused are the old Aurora monster models from the 60’s. I don’t know how much work goes into their preservation, but they seem to bring them back every couple years and I’ve never met anyone that actually owns them.

It was kinda odd finding that one, because I had to remember that it was called a Flash Clapper and other images popped up for it, just have to make sure to search Southern Cross Flash Clapper otherwise results end up somewhere totally different

Newer alloys will help with staving off corrosion/wear. Proper hardening/heat-treating will also help keep wear-and-tear down. Proper storage conditions for when they're in-between runs of that kit is critical for longevity, but eventually they will degrade over thousands of injection cycles. Some careful/highly skilled welding/refinishing processes can be employed if a mold develops wear or damage... but eventually they'll just have to be retired and hopefully you got your investment back from them well before that happens. I think the oldest/most reissued kits in my stash are Hasegawa's Macross Zero boxings of the Mig-29 [scalemates says it was tooled in 1987] & F-14 [scalemates says it was tooled in 1977], and they've got a bunch of flashing [the Mig is worse than the Tomcat], which is usually the biggest sign of an aging mold. They also have some mold-alignment/seamline issues, and one of Tomcat's wings is slightly warped [not sure it that was an assembly error on my part, or if it was the kit tbh]. The Tomcat is also all raised panel lines [argh!!], as opposed to the Mig which is engraved panel lines. Other than that, the fitment on both was still pretty good, no huge gaps or parts that wouldn't fit or anything like that... nothing some minor putty-work and/or sanding couldn't take care of so far. Molds are not cheap. Complex, high-production steel molds range from $30,000 to well over $100,000. I'm curious as to what Bandai's enormous PG Nu Gundam's molds cost. I've never heard a model company actually describe these costs to their customers, but I'd be very interested to find out real numbers.
