I was wondering which toy is the most difficult to transform. I just received my Takara Optimus Prime today and it was fairly difficult (The instruction bookeltte was not detail either).... And this question occured to my mind.

To start off I would like to vote for Yamato Escawflowne. Damn thing took me alsmost 20-30 minuted to transform. :(:(:p:p:o:lol::lol::blink::ph34r::(

"I just love those little yellow smillies"

Thanks,

The big Gakken Ride Armor from mospeada gets my vote.

My rule of thumb is, if I'm too stupid to not be able to transform it without the instructions.

The very first time I tried to transform my Binaltech Smokescreen (from car to robot and then robot to car) it took me about twenty minutes. Even when I was finished the vehicle mode didn't look "properly" transformed. Now that I've had experience with that sucker it's much easier now.

G1 transformations this AIN'T.

my PG Zeta tends to get me to that pissed-off place, especially since I don't TF it very often (since it's a model, and I don't wanna' wear it out by f-ing with it) and as a result forget minor nuances about it's transformation, and end up putting undue stress on it... poetic irony at it's nerdiest

Smokescreen also gets my vote for the hardest transformation. Car to Robot is not that bad. But, the opposite is hell.

Smokescreen was definately a challenge to transform. I had bought one before work and when I got to work, I had about a half-hour before I had to punch in. I figured 30 minutes would be plenty of time. Definately took me the whole 30 minutes to transform and then hap-hazzardly transform it back to car mode. The instructions weren't all to clear either. Also, I'm having trouble with the YF-21, actually, I'm just afraid of breaking something. So I'm just leaving it in fighter mode, which looks coolest anyway. The VF-11B wasn't too bad, but a little tricky.

As far as I know that was a present.... and it came from a girl.

So please DO NOT COMPLAIN B!

TF: Beast Wars Ramhorn. The brown beetle that's the arms of Tripredacus. No matter whether you're 1 step in, or 30 mins in, the only possible thing you can think of is "ok, WTF do I do next?" You have no clue how to proceed, and it's often easier to just undo the last few steps until you can get something that resembles one of the steps in the instruction booklet and re-start at the half-way point.

Yes, I've owned nearly every G1 toy, nearly every RID, most of BW, a good chunk of BM, and a few Armada/Energon, and nobody comes close to that little brown gestalt component for "I think I'll give up now, but I don't know how to get him back to ANY mode from this point". Being a triple-changer doesn't help at all.

After that, Yamato YF-19. At least I know what every step looks like, even if I fear snapping it in half every transformation. Ramhorn's quite sturdy (pop-aprat ball joints) but it's just an utter mess at any step.

My vote goes for the big Gakken ride armor too! Maybe it's because i got it without the manual but it took me like 30 mins to figure it out.

2nd place for the Yamato VF-19... like someone said already it's not that complicated but it's long and difficult to actually do it. If that makes sense...

Ok my vote goes to my PG Zeta just because I have a fear of tearing it to pieces when I attempt to transform it. I even had to pull the transformation manual out just so that I was able to pull out the wings in mobile suit mode.

Second would be the 1/48 valk. Just because I had to try to "fix" a half-assed transformation my friend did to it. <_< Plus the heat shield didn't want to come out.

Another vote for Alternators Smokescreen. It's not so much that it's mechanicaly complex, it's just a rip to get everything lined up right. The only other transforming toy I have that gives me any problems is Energon Starscream's arms. Between the tight fit of the design, and the overly stiff ratcheting, I'm surprised I haven't broken something on it, yet.

Following up: I've never had any probs with Smokescreen at all, though many people have trouble getting all the doors to line up in car mode. Maybe all the times I TF'd X-Brawn helped...

MG Zeta: you know, ONCE I found like a "secret click" spot, and somehow, some way, the thing became rock solid in wave rider mode. Never happened again, but I left it that way for a while, knowing it was a one time thing. I narrowed it down to where the shield attaches via the long polycap-filled strut. Somehow, you can really "lock" that area, and the shield will be pulled very tight to the main body, and you'll have a non-floppy Zeta.

Cybershark and all his incarnations:

I think it's more of a "you don't really know when you're done" problem. Like too many BW etc toys, neither mode has definitive "end" points for a lot of his parts. It's just "make it look like the box art as best you can". Half-done and totally done robot mode look much the same, a lot of it is artistic license in deciding where to put all his parts. Same with shark mode--the belly never really folds up nicely, you just tuck the legs in as best you can. It's "done" when you say "this is as much time as I plan to spend on it" trying to tidy up the shark mode.

Everything listed so far has been a piece of cake...an absolute breeze...compared to the perfect change Studio Half-Eye Getter Robo...

 absolutely in-F'ing-credible!

You own this? PICTURES!!!! Show us some decent pictures of the mechanics!!!

I don't yet own it...but the thread title "Which toy have you own or know as being..." pretty much says it all :p

Toybox DX had a little write up of the older version with some pics...IIRC the transformabtion instructions numbered about 40 pages <_<

2: my bandai vf-1a cf that my brother poored epoxy all over. all the joins was so solid that it takes a hammer to move them.

Dude, that's just wrong... didja' beat his ass?

It WAS a present, which is EXACTLY why I don't wanna' break it... I didn't wanna shell out the fundage to buy it the first time, and I sure as hell don't wanna' pay to replace it!!! How's little Nico?

i've got that thing, i never had a problem with a it, i cant seem to find it at the moment to properly explain the transformation but it's pretty easy

Heh... totally agree on Ramhorn. It doesn't help much that the little bastard doesn't really resemble an arm or a bug or anything.

For old skool - my vote definitely goes to the Mospeada large Ride Armor... but it's complicated because it's genious.

Add a Smokescreen vote for me too. Getting it into robot was fairly easy, but getting it back into car was a pain in the butt to get it lined up right.

I was afraid to death the first couple of times I transformed my VF-11B FP that I would break the shoulders.

MP Prime I had no problem with. Pretty easy actually.

Escaflowne was hard to get used to. The last time I went from Dragon to Guymelef I did it without the instructions though. It's much sturdier than it looks.

May get a second one to leave in dragon.

The Kahen Senshi Zeta I have was an extreme pain to transform too. Once I build my PG Zeta, the KS will go in wave rider next to it.

I gotta say the Big Gakken Mospeada cyclone had to be the most difficult toy to transform for me. Next I say would be the 1/48 yamato valks. I did it the first time without the instructions and it took forever. Also I was being hella careful transforming it as I didn't want to mess it up. :p:D:lol:
