Still loved him in Apocalypse Now. He really sold that character. He’s been in so many projects over the years from action to drama and everything in between, another great that will be greatly missed

not gonna lie, I thought he died forever and a decade ago. Theh last movie Ic an even th ink of seeing him in was The 6th Day.

We're losing so many of our 70s and 80s film icons. They're only mortals like the rest of us but given the breadth and profundity of their impact on culture, it always seems harder to see these folks pass on. Godspeed, Mr. Duvall, and thanks for all the memorable performances.

There haven’t been as many memorable characters or movies recently and I think that’s why the older actors tend to stand out. Unfortunately no one is immortal yet, so the greats are immortalized by their works

Sadly that is a sign of our own age and coming date with eternal slumber.  My mother's generation it was Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable and James Cagney.  For the generation after us these actors are our equivalent of Leigh, Gable, and Cagney.

I did not know that was Duvall playing the character in Apocalypse Now.  Indeed he did make a great impression.
