Pat S
Thanks for putting the interview together, and thanks John for sharing! My GF asked what I was listening to, and she sat down to listen. BTW, I actually liked the first Screamers movie. It had some good paranoia atmosphere towards the middle, sort of like John Carpenter's The Thing. Edited November 3, 2013 by Pat S
captain america
BTW, I actually liked the first Screamers movie. It had some good paranoia atmosphere towards the middle, sort of like John Carpenter's The Thing. I'll just pretend I didn't hear that! Actually, I can't really find fault in your statement. I think that my initial expectations coupled with the mediocre special effects are what did the film in for me. Granted, I haven't watched it in well over a decade. Pat S
Haha. I'm definitely NOT saying Screamers is anywhere near as good as The Thing! The Thing is on an entirely different level in every aspect. I just have a soft spot for parts of Screamers for some reason.
wm cheng
What a great thread to follow. Thanks so much Boinger for doing this and I will be listening to the pod casts. boinger
The Moscato Model Retrospective Collection: Pictures & Model Production Diaries is delayed because I slept in and that EXO was able to point me to a couple of MW threads that I missed. So, I will likely have the collection posted on bittorrent for this evening.

boinger
EXO has informed me that I added in a metallic Tachikoma model pictures in the Moscato Model Retrospective Collection were not made by John. So, I'll stop the torrent, delete those pictures and start uploading again soon.

PetarB
Thank you Boinger, great interview, and great resource! All you effort (and John's of course) very much appreciated.
boinger
English literal transcripts of the John Moscato audio interview parts 1 to 3 are now available on Scribd! Part 01 Part 02 Part 03 You can now see why a Spanish translation of this interview would be a little difficult. The dialogue would need to be cleaned up and re-written to avoid colloquialisms and speech quirks that mostly make sense in English, but would not make any sense in Espanol. ********** I have been having a wicked chest cold for the last month when I went to go visit my mom and her dog and cat. So, the final part of the Moscato interview has been delayed.
PetarB
Great to revisit this. Thanks again Boinger for all your effort.
boinger
I posted up an "ebook" of the current forum thread on my Scribd account. http://www.scribd.com/doc/208579442/John-Moscato-November-2013 I am likely to put together an ebook for John's recently completed Inbit resin model and post that ebook on Scribd as well. John and I are going to be finishing up the interview this week. We could just get the audio interview done first and then we can set a date for John to be present on the MW forum to take any questions once some people have actually listened to the latest interview. boinger
Today at approximately 1 pm CST, John Moscato will be interviewed about his latest completed Inbit model. The audio interview will be posted later today "barring any unforeseen circumstances". If you have any questions for John about his models, then send me a message through the forum or post the question on the Macrosshare blog shoutbox, thanks! boinger
1/48 Inbit Gurab Production Model Diary by John Moscato is now available on Scribd ! John and I had a 1 hour 3 minute interview about his latest modelling work, some questions from his fans, his thoughts on the modeling design process and about hobby modeling in general. I will be posting the Mixlr audio broadcast at 3 pm CST in the next half hour, so you can listen to this interview. If you miss the interview broadcast, then that's not a problem because the interview will be recorded onto the Mixlr Macrosshare channel, so you can listen to it at any time that is convenient for you. *************************** I will be posting here with weblinks when I get the Mixlr broadcast software to start recording the interview. boinger
boinger: Oh no! The Macrosshare interview audio file has some sort of weird repetitve feedback loop that messed up the audio?! boinger: I left the Mixlr webpage open and the uploaded interview audio was broadcasting at the same time and recording the audio from both the windows media player and the audio that was broadcast through the Mixlr website radio web app! Let me try again! Technical difficulties!
boinger
The John Moscato interview is now being broadcast and it sounds okay ! boinger
Macrosshare Radio Episode 04 The continuing John Moscato Interview is now online! And you can listen to the previous three interview segments as well. You might need to look at the 1/48 Inbit Gurab and the 1/32 Legioss production model diaries to see what John is talking about in the interview. Comments, questions and suggestions for the interview can be posted here in this thread. Thanks for listening! EXO
Just finished it. Thanks guys. Really interesting perspective. I especially liked it when Cap described and went through his reasoning on how he approached the 1/32 Legioss. There were noticeable differences from the lineart, and having owned and seen a lot of his kits, it's easy to know that he can sculpt things that looked like it jumped out of the reference books. So it's really cool to hear his decision process. What a great addition to the MW experience. Having you guys here is quite a win... thanks again! Gabe Q
I also had a chance to listen to the interview. My favorite part was learning which view of the lineart received priority. You gotta give it to the Cap, he really knows how to take a few pieces of conflicting lineart and create a convincing three dimensional representation. I really enjoyed it, thanks.
