I don 't know how realistic a truck carrying a big ass gatling gun on its roof is, but that helicopter looks pretty damn cool. It looks like it might be flimsy though.

I'd like to see more details on the actual Overgear toys.  I'm not sold on Ironhide (especially with the Overgear trailer giving me more Energon Ironhide vibes than G1/Bayverse).  But if Blackout is, say, no bigger than SS86 Megatron, then I could be tempted to pick him up as a sort of G1-ified, Generations-esque Blackout.

Honestly, I dig this Blackout, in large part because he looks nothing like Blackout.

 

He looks like the Bayformers toy-only character Tomahawk.

TFTM Hound releases in March but someone already received it.  Can't wait to get Hound, Scourge, and Hot Rod.  Kind of whatever in receiving Megatron and Optimus.  They're all coming in at once.

I think that Ironhide would have been much nicer in red not black.

It looks to me like Takara is trying to apply the Diaclone Reboot aesthetic, engineering and design language to the Transformers line.

I have one Versaulter toy to see what the Diaclone toys feel like and they are not for me but I think Transformers fans who like the Diaclone Reboot line will love these.

Takara's Overgear stuff is mildly interesting thus far. I've no intention of buying either, but the fact that they seem to want to do their own proprietary take on Transformers apart from Hasbro is interesting on its face. I get the sense that Hasbro saddles them with far too many restrictions and a line like this allows them some freedom while remaining on-brand. I'm curious to see what they do with it over time.

I wonder how they'd go about realizing Jetfire. Would they attempt to do an SR-71, or, like Blackout, opt for an entirely different sort of airframe (than Bayformers), albeit a large one, say, perhaps, more like the B-!B? Or perhaps something completely fictional "based" on a real aircraft. Time will tell, I suppose, depending on the success of these initial figures.

Curious if Hasbro's going to have a fanstream leading up to NY Toy Fair this weekend? Takara's doing their own this Friday at 3PM PDT, from what I understand.

I know that they're gonna be there showing off some new stuff, and I've heard that there's gonna be some preorders on Tuesday the 17th. Haven't heard anything about a Hasbro stream, though. AFAIK the Takara one is T-Spark, not specifically Transformers. I mean, they're definitely gonna show off some Transformers stuff (I'm thinking Overgear for sure, maybe some Missing Link), along with some Zoids and Diaclone, but I wouldn't expect any Age of the Primes or Studio Series stuff you haven't heard from Hasbro first (unless it's some Takara-exclusive repaint, like that green Lio Convoy).

Well, currently on HP's YT channel, they're doing a Marvel fanstream. However, on Mark Maher's Insta, he posted yesterday that today is Transformers Tuesday. Since there's no stream, I'm assuming that means more preorders? He doesn't specify, and I can't find any clarity either on the TFW boards or on the apropos Instagram accounts. Guess I'll keep an eye on Pulse for POs.

Interesting, and it'd have to be a titan class fig to do it any sort of justice. Thus far, the only titan that's been announced is Bayformers Grimlock. I have the Haslab, and it does the job for me, although, in hindsight, I think I should have gone with the Studio Cell figure instead. It's not as big, but its transformation is far, far more elegant and integrated whereas the Haslab just has huge stacks of panels on his legs and back. If indeed a Studio Series Unicron is coming, I figure it'll be a scaled-down version of the Haslab.

I don't have either and wouldn't mind owning one of them. The Studio Cell figure does look great and I was considering getting one, simply because the Haslab one is way too expensive now. From what I've seen on YouTube, the Studio Cell Unicron isn't easy to transform either though.

Opposite situation: Haslab Unicron arrived as a ball (just like in the movie!) and I turned him into a robot, and thus he has remained. I've never attempted to transform him back and I'm not sure I want to.

I wonder if that's the way they'll go: it was already a $600+ toy years ago when prices were lower; then again, he commands a hefty tag on the secondary, so Hasbro probably sees opportunity there. Guess we'll see. AFAIK, no other titan class figs beyond Bayverse Grimlock have been announced, so if it is indeed a titan class, they kept that from leaking. Kinda glad now that I supported the Haslab, as the figure has appreciated nicely. It has presence, but I hate the laziness of the engineering and all the plates hanging off his legs and back, especially when Studio Cell was able to integrate all that planet kibble into the bot mode rather seamlessly.

That Evangelion crossover is a weird one, but I guess mashing those two highly popular IPs together makes sense from a marketing view. I'm not too plussed by it, and I'm an Evangelion fan, especially for Eva Unit 01. I wish, instead, they'd made a Unit One that can transform into maybe a jet or something. That's the sort of crossover that would interest me. Just like the VF-19, mashing an anime mecha with a version of Optimus Prime, or any established character for that matter, just doesn't really grab me.

The Overgear stuff looks cool. Again, I'm not really persuaded to the buying point, but I'm curious to see what else they do in the line if these initial toys sell well.

I just wish the Macross crossover was done better. Maybe DNA Upgrade can fix it? That upgraded Godzilla Megatron looks really good.

I promise if they do a Studio Series Unicron it'll be smaller and cheaper than the Haslab.
