I do kinda remember the long pegs at the shoulders being a bit weak and may end up needing a fix down the road if you’re not too careful. Can’t wait to see it finished Just need to add the black paint layers, decals, and some small hand painted touch ups. I modified the way the legs attach behind the intakes by building up a severe angle”wedge” of pla to give it more of a wide angled stance. Hope it works out. Quote

The situation has improved, as we had to get legal help involved. I did manage to finally find the acrylic spheres I needed. Note to anyone building the 22 inch cutaway: 30mm will be a near precise fit for the nacelles; you just need to give a swipe or two around the inside of the opening on the front of the warp nacelles with an xacto knife. My big problem now is decals for this one; Round 2 is out, and I don't have the money for them anyways. I designed up a set in Photoshop to fit this model; I just need to ask a couple of folks here by PM if they could print it for me (11" x 8.5" ). If they can't, I'll have to check back in. Meantime, I tossed the trillions of pieces that remained of my shuttle. My heart just hurts right now....😭 Quote
Thom Posted Friday at 11:00 PM Posted Friday at 11:00 PM @pengbuzz Understand the hurt. But, also glad to hear you found the right size spheres for the 22 incher! Huzzah! Quote

I fell like out of the old school kits that that one may be one of the most challenging due to all the seams and the fit issues. Also to try and keep the lines even between the two halves may require some scribing skills. Quote

WiseGuyVic Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago @Papa Rat You did such an incredible job on that kit! I've been apprehensive about giving one of those Arii Gerwalk kits a try but I think I might now! Quote

I’m new to model building and figure these older, affordable kits will be the best route to bust my chops and learn. Nothing to it but to do it. 😊 *Just noticed your handle. Are you one of the WiseGuyHobbies, guys? I only bring it up since I bought that Super and many other kits from WGH off of EBAY. Always a good resource for these old kits. For a newbie, you'd rock at some of the local shows here in the upper East Coast! Indeed I am! I left some new comments on the GTC Legacy Thread. I have updates I'll be divulging and I'm trying to do more community outreach. Thanks for choosing us! Quote
Papa Rat Posted 5 minutes ago Posted 5 minutes ago (edited) While the search continues for the right ball joints for my Monster build I did a quick test fit on this Seapig. The Wave, Ma.k. kit went together very well. It’s going to need lots of seam removal but the fit is very precise. When it’s time to come back and work on this, the plan is doing the whole brush painted lacquer thing. Excited to try something new. Edited 3 minutes ago by Papa Rat Quote
