azrael Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 whoa did they switch producers? I'm not complaining or anything, but it's just surprising. It's called "budgeting your episodes appropriately". Good grief I thought we went over this already...
imode Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 So who's gonna be the hero and upload the raw somewhere for us torrent-challenged folk?
Twoducks Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Awesome looking episode even with the low quality RAW! So many good moments: - Ozma firing his big load Zero stile - The Monster is a monster! - Bobby doing a gerwalk with the MQ = Epic - Destroids!! - Macross Quarter = "I'm Mr bigass Batrroid, wait a moment while I put away my huge shield so I can fire my über laser correctly". A bit "Super robot" but it looked cool anyways Maybe the Macross Quarter was created to fight giagantic sized humanoid enemies face to face - Not even a single cannon fodder VF-171 blowing up or Q-Rau action
vermillion01 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Random Curiosity's page has updated with screen caps.... WIN!
Duke Togo Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Mmmh... Folding back to Galaxy Space? Doesn't make any sense to me, since they were already in Galaxy Space... Also the VF-27 destroyed Luca's Gunpod just when Alto was trying to release his VF-25 from the "tentacles". It used some sort of energy weapon. It seemed it didn't want Alto or Luca to leave the Vajra Carrier... The VF-27 also escaped just when the MQ fired its main weapon at the Vajra ship. To me it seems that the red VF-27 is with the Vajra (as well as the 2 green escorts that appeared at the end). You forget the dead Vajra laying on the ground by Luca that surprised Alto. I think you can assume that it was the VF-27 that killed them. I forgot who posted it, but so far I'd say the VF-27 aren't on anyone's side but their own.
ssfsx17 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Could it be... Bera Sterne is the leader of a band of nature-loving pacifists who are trying to destroy all mechanical weapons? There's always at least one of those guys in every SK-directed series. Edited May 15, 2008 by ssfsx17
Morpheus Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Maybe they make MQ that way so Bandai/Kaiyodo can make a toy from it.

azrael Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 Random Curiosity's page has updated with screen caps.... WIN! Good. There must be a better raw out there then.
orihime Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 It's called "budgeting your episodes appropriately". Good grief I thought we went over this already... whoops my bad hehe... i guess the colors kind of stretched out since the file was so small and made the color and faces all disorientated. But yes i know about this show budgeting its episodes, but because of the size i though that they kind of pushed it making me think that they switched to a different animator, when really it was my computer messing with it the size. Although after checking out the animators of macross i finally realized that NARA animation has been doing the animation for episode 1-7 except for episode 6, it was done by ShangJie Animation. again Sorry.. i really didn't mean to gripe about the animation thing.
l_e_m Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) The new VF-27 control interface reminds me of BDI crossed with a ZERO system. It was refreshing to see that Alto was channeling a bit of Shin Kudo during that episode . Edited May 15, 2008 by l_e_m
Kronnang Dunn Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Its not that simple. There is a UN connection. Well... Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one... Speaking of Mr B, what was with the playing with his ring? Just like Grace O'Connor activates her implants when pulling the gem at her collar. I believe Mr. Bilrer was recording/transmiting the battle (for studying/combat analisys/assessment purposes?)). Maybe Grace was receiving it? Mr. Bilrer seems to be a citizen from Galaxy (due to all those implants)... He seemed very surprised/amused by the Vajra Carrier. Btw... I noticed that Ranka's belly glowed when she started to sing. At the same time Sheryl's earring also glowed when she started singing too & the one in Alto's cockpit shined too (what caused the Vajra Carrier to glow & stopped/slowed the small type Vajra)... Macross 7/Zero connection there? Edited May 15, 2008 by Kronnang Dunn
Morpheus Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 The only complain about this episode is the lack of VF-171, I bet Graham will complain the same thing. Besides that, this episode rocks.
Duke Togo Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Mr. Bilrer seems to be a citizen from Galaxy (due to all those implants) I hadn't thought of that...
Duke Togo Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Good. There must be a better raw out there then. Judging by the pictures he put up, there definitely is.
Bill C. Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) What exactly was Harmonica saying, apparently to Alto, inside the Vajra carrier right before the second hivemind bit with Ranka and Sheryl? Is he plugged into Radio Earring as well (knowing Aimo notwithstanding to some degree) ? Edited May 15, 2008 by Bill C.
Wumzi Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Stupid torrent throttling... Won't be able to see this for another few hours! I guess now we know what that fighter in the opening is. The way they cross each other leads me to believe that Alto and whoever is flying it are bound to be enemies. Epic dogfight for a future episode?
Chronocidal Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Let's hope so, I've been itching for some Mac+ style VF vs VF action for a long while.
Duke Togo Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I dunno, going by Macross history, it wouldn't surprise me if they may be "bad guys" at first, but toward the end they end up helping the "good guys".
Mr March Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I don't understand why you all call the M25 "SMALL". It's got two freakin' aircraft carriers on it!!!!! Hehehe, true, but I'm talking in context of the other Macross ships, which are 3-4 times larger. In comparison, the Macross Quarter is the small fry, but obviously no less lethal
Realist_Classic Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Awesome episode, just wished I had a better quality RAW so that I can better enjoy the details of the battle. Did anyone else notice the thing that protruded from Ranka at around 13:12? Whatever it was, it caused some kind of feedback and resonated with Sheryl's earring. Weird stuff that will probably be explained at some point, but that was rather strange.
MUGETSU Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Anyone have the link to the nico video? I just signed up for the site. Thanks lol hmm missed have missed it. i got the raw from looking at it... thanks Edited May 15, 2008 by MUGETSU
