Bobby
Years back there was that release by Mayhem Mekanics - The Unrustables Otomo Exclusive, that did an Akira Homage that sorta fulfills this ... it came with an "Akira-themed" sticker sheet and is about the same size as the Yaiba CT-3X from Cyberpunk. tekering
And of course, there's always this gem: More of an homage, rather than a legitimate transformation scheme. 4 hours ago, Bobby said: Years back there was that release by Mayhem Mekanics - The Unrustables Otomo Exclusive That takes me back to the early days of the third-party Transformers scene. Was just digging out Kaneda bike and Otomo to take pictures of this.
wm cheng
Yay! I finally got my 80's Anime red bikes collection together as I had wanted!!! Special thanks to @MKT for helping me track down the Metallic Motoslave, it's fantastically beautiful in the painted metallic scheme. When I first saw the toy back in 2008 in bare red plastic, I wasn't interested at all, then missed the Metallic re-paint, but this version makes all the difference. I just did a quick black wash to pick out the details and it just really pops. It's so much fun to play around with, its incredibly fiddly like a swiss watch, but you can get it into all the great poses. Does anyone have the instructions manual scanned that I could have, mine is still sealed in its bag and the CollectionDX transformation video was incredibly helpful, but I'd like a PDF of the instructions to keep on the computer. MKT
Congrats @wm cheng, & seeing the 3 bikes together on the shelf is really nice. But more than that, your pics are great, love the poses & the subtle wash really levels up the toy bringing out the details in just the right amounts. I really wished Yamato would have proceeded for metallic finish on the other 3 Motoslaves, even though I’m at least thankful Priss’s got that treatment. M'Kyuun
Really wish Arcadia would revisit these with an eye towards making the Knight Saber figs more robust. Linna is the only Yamato fig I own and her arms, especially her left, barely stay on, as the pegs are tiny and shallow and there's nearly no friction there to hold them on. I love the Moto-Slave design and I'd love to see improved toys of both it and the girls. I wouldn't mind seeing Sentinel's take, either, although I'd hope they'd go no smaller than 1/15 scale, and hopefully a tad larger.
