Also remember that Anime Eigo was allowed to release the subbed version as a "license" from HG without interference. With HG putting all their efforts into Shadow Chronicles and the fact that they are trying to sell it in Japan as a sequel to Mospeada, I suspect they are looking at the Macross dub as a "cash cow" to subsidize their new project. She's apparently a Japanese singer of some note, Mari something or other... can't remember the last name for the life of me... The background, colors, and Rick illustration were all added in by Harmony Gold (or Streamline) for the double-disc Robotech Perfect Collection back in 1995. Tip: You need to walk slowly with Bond so you get the drop on enemies and really aim your shots. My favorite tactic is shooting the grenades on the sides of guy's belts.
