MAXXxxx Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 W00000000000t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now I sooo need that book and only a character design works is needed to complete the cycle (not planned afaik)
EXO Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 must get.... I love Miyatake's designs. Aside from the VF-1, I like enjoy his more than Kawamori's.
yellowlightman Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Awesome, but, er, why'd this get moved to the Toys section?
Graham Posted January 18, 2005 Author Posted January 18, 2005 Awesome, but, er, why'd this get moved to the Toys section? Err....because I wasn't really sure whether to post it in the anime or toys forum. I mean it's a book, so it's not an anime, but then again neither is it a toy!?????? . So I thought, post it first in the Macross anime section so people who mostly visit that section will see the news and then move it to the Macross toy forum as I guess (in my mind at least) a book is closer to a toy than an anime . Graham
Radd Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Most excellent. I look forward to this even more than I did the VB-6.
hellohikaru Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 What are exactly Miyataka's designs in macross ?
Myersjessee Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 This is great news! Anyone have any idea if HLJ will carry it? If not perhaps one of our members (Monkey Nugget, Seiichi, etc) would be able to get us a bunch?
Final Vegeta Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 What are exactly Miyataka's designs in macross ? Mostly non-variable mecha (i.e. destroids and ghosts) and spaceships, but also many other things like YF-19's and YF-21's cockpit, protodevilns, bird people, he even refined some of Kawamori's design. In Macross there are more Miyatake's designs than Kawamori's. FV
Mr March Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Sounds interesting. I'd like to look at it first before buying, because I'm really a fan of the Variable mecha of Kawamori's and the SDF Macross ship design more than any other mechanical designs in the original Macross.
Myersjessee Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Finally. Hopefully Kevin will get these in. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!
BoBe-Patt Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I'll be buying this and the bootleg version when it comes out!!!
Boxer Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Does it just cover Macross or does it cover Orguss and the like also?
obakesan Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 This is great news! Anyone have any idea if HLJ will carry it? Not sure about HLJ but Amazon Japan has it for pre-order? Searched by ISBN: Amazon Japan Preorder Might order a copy for myself...
Graham Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 Does it just cover Macross or does it cover Orguss and the like also? Given that the title is 'Macross & Orguss Design Works', I think it's a pretty safe bet that it covers Orguss as well Graham
promethuem5 Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Hmmm..what's that In US dollars... i think i would defenetaly be interested in getting one if a MW member got a bunch for us US peoples... sounds awesome. I <3 Destroids...
Renato Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 ABOOUT BLOODY TIME!! If I don't see some content worth a four-year delay though, I'll be majorly pissed off.
obakesan Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Hmmm..what's that In US dollars... i think i would defenetaly Using XE.com to convert 3,150 JPY at the time of this message it works out to about 30.75 USD plus you will have shipping ontop of that.
Inwards Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 What are exactly Miyataka's designs in macross ? Here's a list of most of his designs: http://www.zincpanic.com/view_character_de...ort=Date&page=1
Gerwalker Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Awesome, but, er, why'd this get moved to the Toys section? Graham Maybe you should move this to Movies and TV Series forum where books are discussed? Movies and TV Series Discussions on the Macross series and Movies Characters, themes, and books
Boxer Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Does it just cover Macross or does it cover Orguss and the like also? Given that the title is 'Macross & Orguss Design Works', I think it's a pretty safe bet that it covers Orguss as well Graham *rams head on wall repeatedly* And I call myself an Orguss fan... Strange, Miyatake is credited with the Regult (At least that's what Zinc says) and yet it's also in Kawamori's design works. Did Kawamori do polishing and Miyatake the design?
EXO Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 (edited) if you notice they're both creditted with the VF-1s also... Edited January 20, 2005 by >EXO<
Bub Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Better save up for this book. I try to acquire this in Kinokuniya.
Re-issue_Liu Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wait for a long long long long long times.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must to get one less!!!!!!
Aurel Tristen Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 *phew* Its about freaking time..... talk about being worried. THE COVER!!!
promethuem5 Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 so who from Japan is gonna buy a bunch for us US people to buy from?
Boxer Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 I don't know weather this should be on my Christmas list for next year or if I should make the effort to get it as soon as it comes out. I don't think out of print will be an issue though...Kawamori's Macross design works is still available at Animebooks.com (though is this a bootleg? Can't tell...) So I'm guessing (and hoping) the Miyatake book will also be available here. (From the same site if possible...)
aaajin Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Looks kewl so far! Any news whether they will cover Mac Zero on this one? I have a friend in Japan who's willing to pre-order the book for 10 orders..I have posted a thread in the For Sale section HERE Anyway, if we couldnt get enough orders, I'll still gonna buy from him
Gui Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Would be über-great if Kevin could put his hands on some of them Awesome, but, er, why'd this get moved to the Toys section? Movies and TV Series Discussions on the Macross series and Movies Characters, themes, and books 100% agreed: I've been 'lucky' to find this thread...
Bub Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 *phew* Its about freaking time..... talk about being worried.THE COVER!!! Oh boy oh boy!
Boxer Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Rar. Tell me where I can get it from here and I will persue this book until it is mine. For it will be one of the few Orguss books I can get without resorting to E-bay (Unless that's the only place it's available...along with the rest of whatever Orguss stuff lingers out there ) Even though the title says Mac + Orguss, is this a complete summary of all Miyatake's works or is it just those two? (not that I'm complaing. Being the rabid mech fan I am, the more space for Orguss and Macross, the better...but then it is a mech book, so why am I ranting?)
