    I just had an epiphany today concerning sports anime. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 99% of it all essentially the same plot boiled down to this... 1.newbie with special ability beyond compare joins sport/team 2.said sport/team is bad/disgraced/verge of disbanding 3.newbie becomes big baby jesus offering salvation 4.episodes of bonding with a practice event against another school 5.meet arrogant rival for first time, get whooped on. 6.TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN!!! 7.bring in reluctant loner with skill rivaling newbie jesus 8.enter tournament 9.told by authority team/school/sport will disband if you lose 10.beat everyone until final match 11.face overpowered cheap rival of which the following will happen... 11a.team wins at last second on miracle bs play that wouldn't work in real life and big baby jesus newbie celebrates saving the school/sport/team and earns respect of cheap overpowered rivals. 11b.newbie jesus fails to win, everyone is depressed, somehow the powers that be decide to not disband the team/sport/school better luck next year, so you end up wondering why the hell you wasted all the time watching the damn show in the first place when nothing ends up mattering in the end.

    Considering the new Avengers Ultron trailer makes a big deal of the Avengers being unworthy to raise Moljnir besides Thor I'd say Beta Ray is a lock for an upcoming film.

    What you guys have trouble reading is a thread that got hijacked by a couple of idiots on robotech.com, not that we don't have our own problem with an idiot like that here. One guy starts talking about badguys and takes a shot at the Prime Minister of Israel. The other made a vague conspiracy theory rant, and both got the temporary boot and their posts have since been pulled.

    I just realized something rather odd after watching a bit of the Pailsen files. In all of the films, OVAs, and TV series we never actually what a Balarant Union AT pilot looks like do we? We actually never see or hear much from them at all.

    It looks to be about the same level as a master grade gundam kit so assembling wouldn't take too long maybe 2 or 3 days. I could probly do it in a day since I'm on vacation. Keep in mind that's without painting which makes me a little discouraged given my skill level and what I've seen in this thread.

    I got some good old school anime on the way from Rightstuf with Space Adventure Cobra and Cat's Eye. Should be here in a day or two. Until then I'll keep watching Cobra on their offical youtube channel. I guess the best way to describe it is Space James Bond meets Lupin with artwork that would look right at home in Heavy Metal magazine.

    Well that was interesting. Gyanko while a little haughty doesn't seem to be the complete upper class snotty rich b**** everyone was expecting that we usually see in these types of shows.

    I got my first 1/20 Bandai Votoms kit today. Fyana's Brutishdog. I payed a little bit more than the HLJ price for it, but with shipping it would have ended up about the same.

    okay then about FURY... That's only some of the carnage that this film displays and goes out of its way to show the aftermath of. Thematically this film does resemble The Beast in a lot of ways, with the exception of the tank commanders attitude with Pitt's character doing some pretty brutal things to ensure the safety of his crew instead of serving his own interests. There's a definite anti-war stance in this film, but it doesn't beat you over the head with it or turn it into a farce like some films. The best way to describe its is "This is war. War is ugly, brutal, and complete sh*t. We shouldn't have to do it, but it is what it is deal with it because that other guy will kill you instead." All in all I have a feeling people will leave the theater feeling a lot like they did after seeing Saving Private Ryan. As for the technical aspects this film really did go out of its way to portray actual WWII combat with tactics like combined arms street sweeping, and using different types of ammunition in different situations like AP/HE/WP rounds or smoke.

    I just got back from seeing Fury and I need to let somethings sink in before I comment. I will say as far as depictions of warfare go this film is very brutal and this film may have redeemed Shia's acting career.
