  1. They might, but I figured I wouldn't take any chances with unregistered/untracked options. I hesitate to cancel anything that goes through, but if I can get an AE order before From Japan gives me a quote, I might cancel there.
  2. Just put one in there, they're where I got a Kakizaki with no trouble. Selected EMS shipping in the hopes we'll have that again by the time it's released.
  3. Yeah, the site fooled me with all the listings they host from other services. Knowing how things go, I might wind up with three of them in order to ensure I get at least one, but I don't see that as a bad thing exactly.
  4. Thanks folks, got it. I definitely want a pair of those for display, and have no idea if I'll get a chance to play pre-order roulette tomorrow.
  5. How'd you find an order on From Japan? I realized I hadn't used them before.
  6. I believe their "warehouse" is only applicable as a way to wait until the order is filled before choosing shipping. I don't mind DHL, but I just sent them a message to ask if they can actually delay shipping until after New Years, since I won't be home to receive it. I might be able to change the address, but we'll see what they say, since I'm holding off paying the shipping until I know for sure what my options are. Worst case, I might need a friend to pick it up for me, but I'd rather not bother them.
  7. Small update on TV Super Parts, Okini Land just forwarded me an invoice for DHL shipping, so they're processing orders. Now to cross my fingers and hope I can manage to grab a pair of 1Ds...
  8. Hah, yeah, the OCDness is really what it boils down to. I was actually thinking of just using plastic thin enough that it would bend to fit, or just be thin enough to be a "good enough" fit that you couldn't see the difference. The recessed area gives you a little room to work with, at least. Really though, this is probably a prime project for a Shapeways store item. Please no.. no more detachable limbs.
  9. I do wonder if there is enough room inside the leg to reinforce that joint a bit (doubtful), but as far as I can tell, Bandai made that entire joint out of metal on the DX.
  10. Those blanks should be pretty easy to make, since they're just a flat disc with a couple pegs. Whether a printer could make them is up for grabs though, and it might actually just be simpler to cut them from sheet plastic, and glue on the pegs.
  11. Oh, wow... so AE just sent me an in-stock notice for my second set of TV super packs, the ones ordered from the spring release. I wonder if they had a bunch of payments fail to go through on the first batch, so they're spreading out their excess to the next round? Not that I mind, since Okini Land hasn't sent me anything about my backup order with them, but I wonder how much the shipping is going to be for the AE box I get once I have them ship in January.. since it's now going to hold two super packs, a Roy, and a YF-29 re-issue. Edit: Actually, now that I checked the order numbers, I think they goofed, and sent me a notice about the second order first, then followed up with the correct December release. Checking my account page, the later release is still waiting for stock, with no option to ship yet.
  12. There have been a few releases with some updates compared with the original ROTJ release, but they were years back at this point. I made a point to pick up one some time ago, and it wasn't cheap, but I was glad to get one of the releases in the original markings. I'd had one of the Dagger squad Toys R Us exclusives for years. It's not the most accurate mold, but it's really good for its size, especially compared with the ultra-distorted Y-Wing.
  13. Don't care so much about Slave I, but I wish they'd get around to re-releasing some of the other fighters. I'd love to see an updated/upgraded version of Vader's Tie, or better yet a good revision of the large scale X-Wing.. one without the stumpy nose, and sagging wings. The whole mold needs a do-over to fix that lousy mechanism.
  14. Ok, I might have to get that Flanker. Have to see the jet mode, but if they can pull off something even as good as the Maverick F-14, I call that a win.
  15. It's possible they haven't gotten to your order yet, I only received my notification from them yesterday.
  16. Frankly, I'm not sure anything "normal" exists at this point. Prices are crazy across the board, and I can't find any two vendors with similar shipping costs.
  17. Ugh.. that reminds me, I need to make some pylon extensions for Bandai's missile sets.
  18. That might just be an order mix-up on their part, since I believe the second release isn't timed until April, or somewhere near there.
  19. Same actually, that's my second source for a backup set, so I hope to hear from them soon.
  20. Just got an email from AE that TV Parts are in stock for delivery. Will be holding those until after New Years a bit, but will be jazzed to get that set.
  21. That's a whole lot more than just face parts, I think that's an entire second torso with different clothing (more skin )
  22. How's the angle of the gunpod with the TV packs? I was wondering if they have a different angle that'll push it down a little. I did discover something that holds the gunpod almost level with the DYRL packs though... there's enough slop in the locking tabs on the legs that you can bend the shoulders down, and angle the elbows upwards to get the gunpod level... the end result is that the arms just hang completely from the leg tabs, without even touching the vertical pegs under the backplate.
  23. I feel like they could have averted this by actually planning out the entire 7-year story arc better, but I'm thinking planning that far ahead wasn't going to happen with the writing shenaniganry they had to deal with.
  24. I think I'd want that a lot more if I could stomach the aesthetics of any of Bandai's stand mounts. I'd probably be more likely to use that stand to hold up a Hasegawa kit. Besides the giant chunks of plastic holding the things up, I still have no real words for how disappointed I was that they just continued to pop out their boring-as-hell default hexagon stands for these.
  25. So, given the choice of the two, you also have to consider whether you want the TV reaction missiles, because if you weren't able to procure a full missile set, this is also an option. All things considered though, I would go for the DYRL version. Ignoring the differences in the arm packs, I think it is easier to make a "TV" set out of DYRL packs than it is to make the TV packs look passable as a DYRL version. In my mind, it's better to have the strike cannon and not use it all the time, than to not have it at all. The DYRL set also comes with swappable Skull logos that you can use to match any of the DYRL valks, and it would be relatively simple to repaint/decal/sticker over one of those with the UN kite logo for a TV-style marking, if you don't plan on ever using one of the colors. Of course, this all may be purely rhetorical if you can't find a set of DYRL packs at this point. Market being what it is, the TV packs may be all you can get at what you consider a reasonable price.
