  1. Yeah the price kills me. I am trying to save for a sdf-1, so I cannot get these now. I'll have to wait for a sale of some sort.
  2. Yeah that's b.s. The really stupid thing is someone listed another one for $299 soon after. It's like, really?!? If no one is buying it at $199, how do you possibly expect to get more than that? Whatever. I want one bad, but not THAT badly. I can afford to wait in the hopes Bandai does a reissue. At any rate, I found something better to spend $200 on. Preordered the Ozma custom. They might release a bundled version, but I'm not sure when or if they ever will. But I figure they'll definitely relase the armour as stand alone and I'll just pick that up later.
  3. $300 is ridiculous indeed. Even though there is no official announcement of a reissue, the 30th anniversary is coming up and I am betting there will be reissues for sure. So if you want a premium for it, better off load it soon. Because the reissue will have all the fixes the latest V2.2 have and this version will be out of date. My local Import shop is selling theirs for $180 brand new, so that's probably fair right now. I said fair though. There's only one way to find out for sure: throw it up on ebay and let the bidding determine current market value.
  4. Tell me about it. I am still waiting on a re release of the SD VF-25F Infinity figure. Which, by the way, if anyone has one, I am still in desperate need of one. haha.
  5. It's easy to cancel a preorder. Just go into your account and into Open order details. You should be able to cancel it.
  6. I @%ing hate all of you bastards. Now I have to pick up a whole bunch of valks that I had no intention of doing until I saw how awesome they looked in these pictures, including the 11, 22 and now the 19. I really hate Macross 7, but that 19 looks so badass with the sound boosters. There goes another few hundred dollars. Bah! You guys suck.
  7. Besides, BBTS.com, Anime-export has them still I think (though I think you have to pay up front for preorders).
  8. Apparently it is for some fussy people on here. I have no problems with it. honestly, I never noticed it until someone brought it up one day.
  9. Ozma is the only one I'll get the armor for. He looks fantastic.
  10. Dont know if this was mentioned yet, or if this even matters to you, but if you are picky about the shade of white on your valk, there is a difference. The DYRL? releases are a creamy white, while the TV releases are white-white. The TV relase is closer to the white that jetfire is. I guess on it's own you won't notice it, but side by side, you will.
  11. I know it hasn't been said yet officially, but I would wager on a rerelease for sure during the 30th anniversary, in one form or another. Seriously, Yamato likes money, and I still need so many valks. Yamato needs to take my money.
  12. I'm hoping to snag another, hopefully HLJ will have another one of their Macross sales around then. I already have one, but I want one to open. See how silly this hobby is?
  13. I will get all the hero valks for sure. Maybe not the additional super parts, since I'm not a huge fan of the designs and I think it takes away from the overal look of the planes. Maybe for Ozma I'll get the full armor for him, but that's about it I think. Maybe.
  14. I understand wanting perfection, or close to it, considering the amount of money being dropped on each Valk, with prices steadily rising every time a new one comes out. And maybe comparing Macross to a toy line that is comprised mostly of $10 figures wasn't fair, but sometimes MW is a killjoy. I think some people take collecting too seriously. I like toys. And at the end of the day, I buy toys to enjoy them and I like coming on here to talk shop and all, but sometimes it's like hanging out with my friend who is a film school graduate, where I can't enjoy any movie with him without him cutting a film to pieces, going through every little bit of minutia of the film. It's just tiresome and it drains any enjoyment I could have had. I mean, who cares if the Transformers movie had a crappy plot and no characterization? Sometimes I just want to see giant f****** robots doing bad karate, you know? I don't mean to step on anybody's toes, and maybe it's because I haven't been collecting Macross as some of the others on here, so I don't have the baggage, but I think these V2 toys look really amazing, and I don't really see the flaws people are pointing out. It looks like they really learned a lot from their first go at these.
  15. This is no joke. Probably worse than TF fans and GI Joe fans. I'm surprised people are still talking about the wing thing. And yet, I go posting about it... MW must have some sort of STD that infects you when you log on. I hope one day they find a cure.
  16. Valks never grow old for me also. Since I started collecting Macross, I've grown into and out of several toy lines. The designs, the engineering - never mind the nostalgia factor with Macross / Robotech (sorry, but I first knew it as Robotech like many other N. American kids) being right up there as one of my top shows next to GI Joes and Transformers and Sabre Riders (remember those?) - it never gets old for me. I have the regular VF-1J coming in the mail in a few weeks, but I'll be getting the Gray Goggle version as well. You know: one to pose in fighter, the other to pose in Battroid with the GBP armor. haha.
  17. Quote for Truth. You get one of these, you just can't stop. I have 4 of these VF-1s already with one on the way, and I plan on buying at least 4-6 more. I stopped collecting three other toy lines to have money to pay for my Macross addiction. Next up: gonna get the 1/3000 SDF-1. I resisted, but I can't any more. I just have to wait for my bonus in a month or so.
  18. This is badass. I can't wait for my GBP to arrive. I would have to agree, that the VF-1S is quite iconic, but I attribute it more to Roy than Hikaru. The 1J is definitely Hikaru's though. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you basically just want Jetfire from Transformers, then, the 1S is it.
  19. You guys are hilarious. The release is only a month away, let's see how these turn out, ok? I'm sure it'll be fine.
  20. Woah. Some of those Sheryl statues are amazing. But there is absolutely no way my gf would allow me to have one. She has problems accepting my Figma collection as it is. She'd lecture me until my ears bled if I brought one of these home. Very cool though. I will have to enjoy these vicariously through everyone else's pictures haha.
  21. My VF-1S focker I've transformed 50 times probably. To the point where there is significant paint wear. But the other ones I transform maybe once or twice, opting to leave it in their preferred form.
  22. No kidding. The paranoia is strong. Oh, I have also preordered. Can't wait!
  23. Yeah, you're right. So long as they're touching the bare plastic, it's fine. Don't know how I feel about these now. I liked them when I got them, but I may have to just start springing for those higher priced Yamato stands. At least I can use these on my GI Joe helicopters and such, since there is hardly any paint apps on those to begin with.
  24. Hopefully the armor will be better. The previous stuff would fall off and limit articulation, overall making the toy a paperweight. generally though, I don't care too much for the armor or fast packs, since I think it interferes with the sleakness of the fighter designs. But to pose Ozma in all his armored glory would be sweet. You just know they will make the armor an store exclusive.
