  1. Yeah man. Technically it's not their fault. At any rate, I just got my Nora in the mail today. Everything is perfectly fine on it except for the right wing being a bit floppy. It holds up just fine in Gerwalk, but in Fighter mode, if you turn it upside down, it flops all over the place. Ah well. No barrel rolls for me. I'm lucky I got a pretty good one. Everything else is super tight.
  2. I just got my 0S today, and it's great. No QC problems whatsoever. The only thing I can see is part of the front still sags just a little bit, but that's it. Transformation is easy, and the only problems I had were with the shoulders. They were so tight, and I was paranoid I might break them, so I took a screwdriver and loosened up the screws and now there are no worries. Looking forward to picking up a Ghost soon.
  3. Those are nice stands. Gotta get me some of those.
  4. Well, at least they would give you a new one if Yamato didn't have the parts. Would be nice if they just replaced it outright for you (even if you did have to send the broken one back), then they could repair it themselves and throw it up on the site as a refurbished one at a discount or something. I'm sure someone would pick it up. That way you'd only wait a couple of weeks. In the past, places like BBTS or Smalljoes have just replaced busted figures for me or sent me the missing parts whenever the toy was missing something. But I guess it's a different story when it's more than just a $10 toy and potentially overseas.
  5. I definitely think a month is ample enough time for HLJ to at least have the part on the way from Yamato to them, and then maybe another couple weeks for them to get it to you. Sucks that collectors have to worry about stuff like this. I know stuff happens beyond one's control, and I know collectors can sometimes be an impatient and annoying bunch, but it still blows having spent hard earned money only to get a lemon, and then having to wait weeks for said lemon to be repaired. Would have been nice if HLJ just sent you a new one, but considering the cost of the figure, I guess it's not really an option.
  6. So did you get your replacement part, and did you manage to fix it? I'm anxious because my Nora is on the way from HLJ and I'm wondering what would happen should I get the same thing you got.
  7. Is there any chance of a Figma or Revoltech version of Ranka and Sheryl?
  8. Finally got a shipping notice for my 27.
  9. Ordered myself one of these badboys four days ago. Still haven't got any confirmation regarding shipping. Hopefully tomorrow.
  10. I posted this on the other thread. If you're looking for a VF-1, then this is the one to get. I have this one. No flap. It's perfectly safe. Smooth shoulder pins. Plus you get a geeky pen light. There's a red and black box that is for Hikaro. If you're going to get one off Ebay, be very careful. I inquired a few times with various sellers, and they were all cryptic about which version it was. In the end, I paid a bit more at my local comic shop because I wanted to be 100% sure. They even let me open the box to inspect it. I also just ordered a VF-0S off HLJ after confirming with people on MW and the folks at HLJ that the one they were selling was in fact the second version. If you're paranoid like I am, just deal with reputable online sellers, and get confirmation by email. Places like HLJ will shoot straight with you.
  11. Nice review. I think it's too small to warrant the high price, so I'll pass on it. It's cute though, which is what I guess they were going for.
  12. The pictures of the one with the Cheryl stickers did it for me. Definitely wanting to get the Bandai one now. Unfortunately, I blew my last wad on a VF-27, so I'm gonna have to wait a month or so before I can snag it.
  13. This is the VF-1S I got. Smooth pins. I've transformed it a whole bunch of times, with absolutely no problems. I love this thing.
  14. Excellent. This is very helpful. Thank you.
  15. Okay, can someone give me (a noobie) a quick synopsis of Bandai's different divisions and what they focus on? Cause I've heard various phrases, like DX, Chogokin, Robots Damashii, etc. but have no idea what they mean. Forgive my ignorance
  16. Thanks. The Yamato looks more menacing, but overall, the DX looks a bit sharper just due to the paint job and stickers.
  17. What scale are these? (both DX and Yammie)
  18. I ordered mine a few days ago. Definitely looking forward to it. At that price, it's definitely worth it. As for the shiny aspect of the 27, I don't mind shiny. The only thing I'm worried about with that is the paint rubbing off. I'm already pretty careful with my toys, but I might have to be extra anal with that one.
  19. Interesting. Thanks for the pictures. I think I'll probably still get 27, but will wait on the 25s.
  20. Hmm, fair enough. I'm pretty new to these toys so I'm going to have to defer to your judgement on it. That does sound like a more serious issue. Can you expand on what you mean by the part about how the 27 looks more toyish? Are you saying the SV-51 looks more like a detailed model and the VF-27 more like a kid's toy?
  21. This. I think in general, the toy is good. There's just some obvious glaring flaws that need to be fixed; flaws that seem like no brainers and should not have been flaws in the first place. Of course, I don't actually own one, so maybe it's different in person.
  22. I really like the look of the VF-27. It's so... "out there" in terms of what my collection in general looks like. I don't have a lot of Japanese imports, so while it would stick out like a sore thumb, I still want it. With the SV-51 I have coming, I think it would still look pretty nice all together. I've come to realize that a complete redo of the 25's is probably not in the cards, so if Bandai could just make those minor fixes to the existing line and re-release them, I'd probably be all over that.
  23. lol.
