  1. Oh, cool! Another Cresta game is a surprise, and this looks really interesting!
  2. Surely they would just use AR to make the table look like it doesn't wobble. Overtech fusion generators can probably get some power outta paper, though!
  3. I'm in the middle of another King Of Braves GaoGaiGar rewatch. The Tokyo siege is starting right now.
  4. My understanding is that Studio Nue had an arrangement with Big West to make the cartoon, and when this turned out to be more work than they could handle, Big West hired Tatsunoko to help. And then when it turned out they couldn't afford Tatsunoko's help, they inked a deal giving Tatsunoko international distribution and merchandising rights. This decision is VERY familiar to us. Big West is the actual owners of the brand, and likely the ones who greenlit the movie. Definitely the ones that decided to do Mac II without Studio Nue.
  5. So... I was at Target for some other crap, and they had two Kingdom Beast Megatrons on the shelves. With everyone else having gotten their's A YEAR AGO, I just assumed I was never going to see him and wasn't really invested enough to actively hunt one, so I completely forgot what the pictures and reviews were like. Was just "This actually looks pretty good, I think I can buy a Barneytron." ... I have never paid so much for such a massive turd. Right now, I'm kind of furious at Hasbro for declaring this acceptable. It's a shame. They got halfway to a great tyrannosaurus, by sacrificing the humanoid robot, but didn't commit to crossing the finish line. None of the rubbery pieces are toleranced right. Not a single one. He's a gappy, unpleasant mess in Barneysaurus mode, which makes the sacrifices to the robot mode galling. And I'm pretty sure the left arm saw a very late rework to reduce costs. The design really seems like the tail was SUPPOSED to come off of it, which would greatly improve the humanoid form. Aside from it being an ugly kludge of an arm, there's no reason whatsoever for the fist to be pinned on rather than molded into the forearm except "well, the fist was supposed to fold away for transformation before we changed it".
  6. The booby trap thing was something noted to be specifically a Supervision Army tactic. It seems doubtful the zentradi would adopt it, particularly as they're winning. The show could've gone either very similar or very different, depending on how amenable the zentradi were to talking, and whether they believed Earth's people had rebuilt a ship that just randomly crashed on their planet(as opposed to being a Supervision Army outpost) .
  7. I'm not too proud to admit that I had to scroll up to see if ths wheels were even there after I read this.
  8. Blaster's not just a red Soundwave! Hooray!
  9. They really don't seem that big without a scale reference. It's one thing to read they're a meter wide, it's another to see them with the same-scale pilot figure next to them.
  10. At 24, I think I had achieved nothing noteworthy, aside from a reputation for writing too many words on the internet.
  11. Yes, on retail VHS tapes that haven't been heavily-used or stored next to a magnet. That was my point: not that the mastering process for VHS used high-quality sources, but that retail VHS tapes from the late 80s onward had very good audio on them.
  12. Actually, "hifi" VHS is VERY good audio, assuming the recording is still in good condition. As in hifi VCRs were used for professional recording for a time.
  13. Probably Harmony Gold. They've been responsible for every other bit of bad news for twenty years, why stop now?
  14. Everyone baggin' on G-Savior, but no one has time to take shots at Gundam 0079: The War For Earth.
  15. If we're still arguing over the right way to make plastic robots, I'm going to say that if it isn't original-toy-accurate, it is wrong. Chrome and smoked plastic and sticker details and bits of car hanging off the robots. Exceptions for Ironhide and Ratchet, because... well, obviously. (Seriously, the toy designs could make for interesting headmasters, but they more than any other Diaclone molds were obviously meant to be piloted robots.)
  16. Understandable. Combiner was was a mess, and Power of the Primes wasn't any better(being basically "Combiner Wars but with worse hands and feet") I was really surprised how different Titans was from the two lines before it. And then they did Top Spin and Twin Twist and I was just "Wait, Hasbro remembers those exist? AWESOME!" That said, you can take my CW Sky Lynx with Primes Dinobots combiner from me when you pry it from my cold dead hands. It is nonsense, but I love it.
