Between all the variants of the YF/VF-19, think its a pretty tough call.... but I think at least in Japan, 1 whole generation of kids grew up in the mid 90s watching Macross 7. And if all spin-offs were testament to Macross 7's popularity, it should be pretty darn popular, judging by the amount of spinn-off material. Thus it might be entirely possible that within Japan, the Kai is more popular than than the other variants of the 19, even the YF-19/VF-19A

Itwould be nice, but if having these gimmicks means higher costs, I would rather not have them.... because they simply add to the cost while not having good functionality (Speakers NEED to be bigger to sound better). Speaking of which.... MSRP better be more consumer friendly since the 19 is probably a more popular walk (at least where mainstream/casual fans and not hardcore fans are concerned) than the 21/22 and has more variants to milk from.

Cool.... earlier than I expected. Same date as the release of the Bandai Vf-27 Lucifer
-
Well, to be more specific, the YF-19 and the VF-19F/S/Kai/P look different. The YF-19 and the VF-19A looks exactly the same, save for the colors.

Wow... that is quite a lot of hinges! Looking forward to mine!

If the prices are reasonable, I will get it. My TV Hikaru needs a TV Britai to fight with.

Website says Feb, no exact date. However, realistically, if it was not released end of lst month, we shouldn't count on it being released this month, but rather in Mar, unless they are done with production and packaging since Jan. But if everything was done last month it should have been released by now, so Mar is most likely (because of CNY holidays in China).... though, unless otherwise stated, it is always the end of the month, so it should be in our hands in April, late April esp if you preordered it at your "favourite" shop. ;p

Did you happen to render this in 3d previously and made it transform? I still have the video...

The biggest fix for this problem is a change in mindset. You have to deem the Yamato "toys" as pre-painted and completed model kits. That way, the perception will change: You are not really suppossed to "play" with it like a 5 year old, but rather admire it displayed, and occasionally transforming it to change the mode in display. But of course, thats just me. Your mileage will vary.

1. Yes, and the reason for doing that was that Yamato did not hear of any reports saying that the Hikaru 1Js had any ssuch issues after they were released, thus they assumed that things were going to be ok. 2. As far as Hikaru's VF-1J is concerned, none. The Max and Millia 1Js (released very recently) are suppossed to be fixed. 3. They are in fighter, like all the V2 VF-1s released so far. That means people have to actually transform the valk in order to put on the armor, and many people discovered at that point the ungly truth about the shoulders, with the G-man being the 1st, or one of the very 1st.

I am also a fan of the vF-17(1) design, and it is indeed a great pity that neither Yamato nor Bandai has annoucned plans for either of the 2 versions. However, judging by this comment, I think the chances of the new VF mould by Yamato being the VF-17 to be very low, but of course, I hope to be wrong in this case.

Great work as usual Kurt! The amazing result of The amazing conversion kit from Cap'n America, the equally amazing decals from Anasazi, and the amazing skills of Kurt in combining the 2 together!

Bought your panel-lined VF-0S previously (KJ). Yeah, long time no see you here. Kinda a pity to put up the VT-1 for sale, since it is probably one of the 2 unique valks in the 1/60 line, the other being the VE-1. The canopy problem is the second most talked about problem, other than the shoulder issue (though I imagine you have not encountered it since I did not hear you talk about it here or sgcollect). Next time you have Yamato valks (1/60 esp)for sale at a good price (sorry the rest @ the shop are just.....ok), let me know! I like imperfect valks at a very marked down price!
-
Your 1J is not the only one with the problems you mentioned. In fact, Yamato will not be using the rainbow tint anymore for future releases... due to the failure rate. As for the yellowing.... sigh.... it is most obvious with the 1J.... because it is pure white. if it was grey.... like the DYRL ones. probably not so bad. Anyway, your 1J is now in my hands, (so I am now the carrot head... ). I knew full well the problems before plonking the money. For me, I rather have an imperfect valk (at a way lower cost), so that i would not have any hesitation in handling because I know it is flawed in the 1st place, as opposed to handling a pristine valk. BTW, why are you putting your VT-1 for sale???

Hi Graham, Unfortunately it won't be before Chinese New Year, only out on Feb 20th. Credit to gits_sac from sgcollect -
I think it will come eventually, just no choice, have to wait a little longer. But I agree that they should have been more proactive in contacting customers if their goods have been delayed for whatever reason
-
Not anytime soon. Not til very late Feb or early March.

Thanks!Would you remember which one was it? (Ozma, Alto... etc?) -
Thanks Graham, for the review! Someone really needs to put this (and a couple of others like the VF-1 V2 review by the Graham as well) into the review section of the mainsit, which I think has seen quite abit of rolling weeds.... erm, roll by. Looking at the pics, it seems like a nice piece, but I think I would wait for a 1/60 version by either Yamato/ Bandai, if it ever comes out, as I like my valks in a consistent scale.

I don't know whether it happens to all the VF-25s, but the after a couple of locks and unlocks of the crotch lock during transformation or otherwise, the crotchs of both my 2 VF-25s (Ozma and Micheal, both with FPs) will become so loose that I can't keep the crotch locked in battroid mode, without wedging a piece of paper in between). That explains my sig. So far I have not found any permanent fix yet, and I would be most appreciative if anyone has a good solution that requires minimal surgery. -
hah... thats pretty alright with me... never was a fan of those FPs, especially in battroid mode...

Evolution of the Armor/ GBP Packs? No matter what, we are still missing the (ret-conned) proto-GBP/ Armor: The Reactive Armor from macross Zero! Yamato, where is our 1/60 macross Reactive Armor?!?!
