  1. Hardly. If Japanese really don't give a frak about Macross (to much Gundam-loving there) that much, yet surprised over Western fan-base enthusiastic over all thing Macross, it shouldn't boggle the mind atleast a few of 'em may know a thing or two about Robotech. For all its worth, those minority might think RT is the English version of the original series, & that RTSC might be a GC Mospeada sequel done by Koreans.
  2. Michael Sheen & Bill Nighy are awesome, bringing emotion to their characters which is marred by stifling dialogue. Overall, it kinda like Braveheart, with the Scottish skirty-men replaced with werewolves (err Lycans) & the haughty English as the vampies. No gunfest here, just straight up sword & arrow slaughterfest. Gore & blood definitely. Storyline, mehhh, but proved to be satisfying enuff detailing the earliest long running Lycan-Death Dealer wars that briefly hinted in the early two movies. A popcorn movie, so left your brain out before entering the theatre. Better yet, remember when your wife / girlfriend drag you screaming to watch the lame romantic vamp movie, "Twilight", its time to get a sweet revenge by bringing 'em to the Underworld screening .... there's romance with doomed Romeo Juliet thingie tragic there, with more gore, blood, action, hair, & fangs .... Did I just say ... more hair ...
  3. Uhhh, nanashi, your works has been sorely missed. But, since you've been off & on for the last coupla of years, I sincerely suggest you joined hand with Mr March & co-developed Macross Mecha Manual as well, & he could assists you with MacrossMecha.Info. BTW, nice to see you are back in business after long hibernation.
  4. Frontier opened a big door for it, and watching the live feed of ep 24, when the Macross 11 fleet was shown, I misread it as the Macross II and thought he did. Macross II deserved some love. I'm still sore over the fact it got relegated to alternate Mac-verse, but hearing the Mac II's soundtracks floating in Macross 7 kinda soothe me over the fact. But hey, if DYRL for all its awesomeness is a in-universe movie version of Space War 1 retelling & highly successful in Macross continuity, SK should just shoe-horned Mac II as a movie sequel to DYRL in-universe, mildly successful or mediocre (directed by Kaifun) enough to retain followings of its soundtracks so frequently aired by 2045 onwards. That way, Mac II can become canonised, but still its mecha designs are fictional within Mac-verse as Mac II is a fictional sequel to DYRL in-universe.
  5. Have always prefers SDFM over DYRL. Its nostalgia thingie, since I'd watched original SDF:M in late 1980s before Robotech version 'corrupted' me. Safe to say, getting around watching DYRL re-converted me back as Macross-lover. SDF:M is fuller & richer story, it started the great franchise we loved today. As for DYRL, its a visual fest, makes Minmay a greater star, Hikaru Mikimoto rich refined character designs, & yes, VF-1 STRIKE Valkyrie! Seeing the entire SDF:M, followed by 2 hrs DYRL & a nice goodbye of Flashback 2012, is a nostalgia fest to me. And now, even Hal is back for the serialised Macross the First manga, a mish mash of SDF:M with DYRL! Gotta loved that retcon!
  6. Well, Kawamori should retcon Mac II back into official timeline, heck, get it tossed as in-universe movie sequel to Mac DYRL, but unlike the movie version of Space War 1 retelling, the sequel didn't do too well & forgotten ... viably successful enough that its OSTs still get airtime by Macross 7 launching. I'm game for that ... because Hikaru 'HAL' Mikimoto character designs still screams MACROSS to me, so I've soft spot to Macross II. BTW, Silvie Gena rocks!
  7. Gather the MOBS! Burned the heretic, I say, let 'im burned like 'em witches!
  8. Welcome, to the GREATNESS that is Macross 7, Macross 7 Dynamite! BOMBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! (Feels good to let 'er rip  ) Its all about the FIRE that BOMBER!
  9. March, I loved the updates you made recently on M3. Thanks also for keeping us Macrossies & Robotech fans ( ::cowering:: ) updated even at Palladium RT board. Your works are awesome!
  10. I don't give a crapshoot if the publisher published 'em twice a year ... just seeing the 'updated' Minmay & Misa by Mikimoto bring tears to my eyes! Hot dang Kawamori, after the manga runs its course, with the cash cow that is Mac F been rolling now & the expected Mac F movie, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE return back to SDF: Macross - DYRL style! It could be rebooted series, or OVA for that matter, the new generation of fans are waiting the magic that only MACROSS the First could bring! Minmay, minmay, minmay, minmay! Haruhiko 'Hal' Mikimoto IS BACHHHHH!
  11. Damn you! Damn you! Damn you! Why must you let the cat outta the bag, eh? That makes us, Mis.... uhhh, Orguss fans like pervs!!
  12. Oh yessss, I voted for Gerwalk .... Coz Hikaru Ichijo bagged Misa Hayase in a Gerwalk, once .... & he get that hot Mama!
  13. Ohhhhoooo, so you're busily promoting our MF pirated DVDs of Malaysian copies, eh? Since I already have one (yeah, we Malaysians are cheapskates), ain't gonna blow my pocket on pricey originals since the economy nowadays in the dumps .....
  14. Hey March! When you gonna add the Macross VO's Meltran Draug Battlepod? Its freaking hard to find the sweet looking image of it online, but I do stumbled upon one 5 years back .... so to help you out, here it is: This MacVO Draug pix is from McCain-Ditts, before transformation into M3, the widely & the only available pic online ... Ahh, this one I believed no one has get their hands on, I present to y'all: Draug Heavy Assault Battlepod (better than Chicks battlepod ehhh):
  15. Hell, we'll be lucky enough if Mac F the Movie sells well in Japan (which it probably will). Hopefully, with box-office success & equally successful Mac F toyline, maybe .... just MAYBE ... SK will be tempted to continue with MF, 2nd GIG ... uhhh, 2nd season!
  16. Macross 7 the Movie that reignited my passion for Macross again. It kinda shocking to see a galactic rock superstar riding a kick arse customised Valkyrie, tended to his young fan a world away, & do a love duet with a Zentraedi songstress in a FRIGGIN' Quadlunn-Rau custom! Hell, battling a Godzilla-cosuin that is Protodeviln with a song duet by both Emillia & Basara kinda put a culture shock into me! Sure, Macross 7 series pretty hard to churn in, but after repeated viewing & countless Basara's preaching, the Fire in you will keep on burning! YEAH, BOMBAAAAAAA! Then there's Dynamite, which has a DYNAMITE ENDING! Of all Macross installments, Mac 7 will always has a special place in my heart.
  17. What can I say, ITS BEEN A FREAKING BLAST! A nice end to otherwise thrilling ride for the past 25 weeks. What counts for me, IS THE FRIGGING HEADSHOT! Hell yeah, DYRL goodness!
  18. While others get their 1st taste of Macross via RT, mine was a different story. Being in Malaysia, we're damn lucky to get Malay-dub Japanese anime / sentai / tokusatsu series imports shown on national TV. Back in late 1980s, I get my 1st taste of the original SDF: Macross alongside GC: Mospeada soon after shown on national TV. Hell, I remember bugging my dad to buy me a transformable VF-1S ROY FOCKER & VF-1J HIKARU ICHIJO .... (which I deeply suspect now, Korean bootlegs). Those are the days .... le sigh .... Then there's RT which showned in early 1990s, which at the time I seriously though as an English adaptation of both SDF: Macross & GC: Mospeada. When RT Masters (aka Southern Cross) segment kicked in then I realised this reincarnation are not the original series I watched earlier, but simply heavily re-edited & totally different version of the original anime. Sufficed to say, it satiated my crave for a while until mid 1990s, in high school, I fervently collected imported McKinney's Robotech novel series (hard to come by, only available in major bookstore at the time .... a tad to pricey too). Back in 1997 ... YEAH, the INTERNET BABY! I was in college back then, marveling in the wonder of free information, perusing thru porn ... uh ... Internet wonderland .... until I key in MACROSS .... thanks to Dave Deitrich (of Macross Mecha Design), bcos his site enlightened me on Macross-verse again. Of course, yeah, there's tons on RT info too. Bcos of internet, I search fervently to add my Macross collections. In 1998, I buy a Macross II OAV alongside Macross Plus together with Macross 7 the Movie. Of all those early Macross collection I got, Macross 7 the Movie that actually kickstarted my Macross obsession (& J-POP craze phase) ----- BOMBAAAAAAAA! By early 2001, I stumbled onto Macrossworld, mostly becoming a lurker. I've to admit, MW is the main motivation for me to feed my Macross obsession in actually over the years to complete my Macross collections (original SDFM, Mac 7 series, Mac 7 Dynamite OAVs, Mac 0 OAVs, Mac DYRL & Flashback 2012) & adding on my GC: Mospeada .... strangely though, thanks to a quirky thread on MW years ago regarding Orguss, I hunted that little treasure trove & get myself the quirky & entertaining SDC: Orguss series. Of course, now's there Macross Frontier, thanks to MW & Youtube. Now I'm 29 years of age, my Macross journey has being a thrilling ride! Thanks Shoji Kawamori & Haruhiko Mikimoto for SDFM. Thanks to Dave Deitrich for reigniting the Macross fire in me (BOMBAAAAA!!!!!) & thanks to MW, especially Shawn & Graham whose online forum & informative Macross info driving my passion for all thing MACROSS!
  19. Ahh SDF-3. The Sentinel variant shows it to be some sort of Zentraedi battlecruiser, while RT;Prelude To The Shadow Chronicles shows that pre-refit SDF-3 got heavy hull damage after confrontation with Invid Regent flagship, & later rebuilt into MOSPEADA-ish SDF-3.
  20. There's no SDF-2 in Sentinel novelization, apart from the blurb that it now rested alongside SDF-1 & Khyron's cruiser wreckages in the lakebed of Lake Gloval, & 3 mounds (dredged up from Lake Gloval) that covered the wreckages from 2014 - 2031 that become containment site known as SX Point 83, until Invid Regess occupied that site during Invid Invasion of Earth in 2031 & that site is later known as Reflex Point aka Regess HQ.
  21. You're MOST definitely wrong. Malaysia & the Philippines showed & aired both original GC MOSPEADA & SDF: MACROSS together with ROBOTECH from 1980s - 1990s, Singapore is no exception. To my knowledge, only Taiwan & HK aired GC: Mosp & SDF;M minus RT. The BIGGEST MARKET of 'em all, the BIG, RED China trumps up with ROBOTECH fairly popular over there, from 1990s & re-aired until now. Many China's kids grew up on RT, with RT become (ironically) the BEST ANIMATED WESTERN series in China, garnering several accolades in China broadcast industry. Well, me too. While I've all RT collections, with my precious Macross installments (minus Frontier, obviously) .... my MOSPEADA is still lacking, only with the newest addition of MOSPEADA II OAV (ooppss, RTSC) .... Where's my friggin' MOSPEADA LOVE LIVE ALIVE? Sob ....
  22. Well, I really hope HG with DR Movie & Tatsunoko could release RTSC as MOSPEADA II OAV in Japan, just enough to cash in with the revivalist MOSPEADA toy / model market there. With enough interest, some Japanese TV station like NHK or TV Tokyo might want to commission new mecha series, with Kenji Terada & Shinji Aramaki backing, atleast 26 eps of brand new MOSPEADA II could be a reality, with the actual animation farmed out to DR Movie back in Korea. Sure, MOSPEADA II series will quickly fade out like its cousin, the retcon Bubblegum Crisis 2040, but atleast there's something for fans. HG could easily re-edited MOSPEADA II series into new RT sequel in US market, & be done with it ... that's what HG does best, with any original RT animation actually stunk (like RT II; Sentinel) & mediocre at best (RTSC).
  23. Hah, neighbor down south! In my country, Malaysia, the local TV broadcaster (RTM) aired both SDF:M & GC:Mospeada in late 1980's - dubbed in Malay, of course, minus the nude scenes - & surprise, in early 1990's, another Malaysian TV station (TV3) aired ROBOTECH in its entirety, even aired in the RT II: Sentinel the Movie for the finale. TV3 later re-aired GC Mospeada (Malay-dub) back in 2001. Sufficed to say, I was exposed to both Macross & Mospeada BEFORE I watched RT, unlike most forummers here who by far, watched the RT version 1st, & later followed up with original SDF:M & its installments. I treat ROBOTECH differently from Macross-verse. I enjoyed 'em both immensely. I don't have any of those emo-baggages that most Macross fans have towards ROBOTECH. Besides, both are cartoons, & both HG (plus Tatsunoko) & BW in partnership with either Toynami & Bandai pimped us the lovers of idiot box. Besides, eversince HG went the route of MOSPEADA while effectively killing any Macross references from future RT sequels (if there ever one) like the Zentraedi [goodbye Exedore & Breetai, bitten the dust yer are thanks to Tommy Yune) with little to no screen time to key Macross characters (albeit heavily altered) namely Rick Hunter (Hikaru Ichijo) & Lisa Hayes (Misa Hayase). Truth be told, I watch RTSC just for the sake to watch the Legios (uhh Alphas) & the epic Inbit vs Earth Reclaimation Fleet.
  24. Below are the SDF-2 illustration from the said comic, adaptation from the TV series & the RT novelization. SDF-2 coming into Khyron's range SDF-2 being hit & sinking SDF-2 in the background billowing smoke while SDF-1 blasted Khyron's ship Khyron's warship ramming both SDF-1 & SDF-2. Lo-res SDF-2 Megalord cruiser mode: The dead giveaway that RT's SDF-2 is a direct adaptation of SDF-2 Megalord is the Bridge layout, the shoulder's cannon & obviously ARMD carriers attached as arms in Atttack mode.
  25. Well, just to add in the SDF-2 Megalord aka Megaload lore. The RT adaptation of SDF-2 stems from one dialogue cue from RT: Macross Saga last ep, but unseen in the original animation (there's no SDF-2 as well in SDF:M). Various RT adaptations, mostly Jack McKinney's RT novelization try correcting this by stating SDF-2 is back to back with SDF-1 in Lake Gloval, & suffered the 1st hit from Khyron's (Quamzin) cruiser & sinking. Its nice to know that another RT adaptation of SDF-2, this time by Comico's RT Comic has shown illustration of SDF-2 actually back to back with SDF-1 as per McKinney's assertion from novelization. What's more important, Mike Leeke, the artist responsible for SDF-2 illustration tried his best to adapt the unused SDF:M's SDF-2 Megalord pre-production art as SDF-2 in RT, whipping out the Attack configuration of the said SDF-2 Megalord [available lineart only shown Cruiser mode). The result, pretty impressive:
