In truth, we know that even Zentraedi are hard pressed against Supervision Army, succeeding simply because of Anima Spiritia contigent supplied by Protoculture assistance in rendering the Protodeviln in stasis. Zentraedii controllable? Look at what they did to their former creators, the Protoculture ... simply by wiping the entire surviving PC post Zentraedi-ProtoDeviln wars. Zentraedi by that time are fairly indepent, each fleet controlled by a big Zent warlord. Even there seems to be schism within Zent fleet, one can expect such schism also existed between Zent fleets that loathed to share resources. Just imagine if Protodeviln manages to brainwashed an entier Zent fleet & go merry happy way of collecting spiritia. Zentraedi at its height only able to destroy civilisations on planetary bombardment basis, while Protodeviln, upon having unlimited & uncontrolled spiritia, can literally suck the entire universe dry through Spiritia Black Hole (nifty trick). No wonder Exsedol nearly wets his robe upon recognising Protodeviln at a glance.

I grew up in Malaysia watching Malay-dubbed SDF: Macross & GC Mospeada back in late 1980s before ROBOTECH ever got an airtime. After watching the original series, it took a private TV station in Malaysia in aerly 1990s to air 85 ROBOTECH series plus RT II: Sentinel Movie in which I basked on Macross & Mospeada nostalgic lovefest. It took me for while until I finally distinguish & appreciate the differences between both franchise, & I have to credit ROBOTECH for re-kickstarting my interest in Macross & egged me to acquire & get Macross DYRL, SDF: Macross, Flashback 2012, Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross 7 (series, Dynamite OAVs, Movie) & Macross Zero. But I still remain loyal to ROBOTECH-verse, which has become equally important next to my beloved Macross franchise, so much so I even have an entire ROBOTECH's McKinney novelizations & finally, the RT: The Shadow Chronicles. Athough, truth to be told. I buy RTSC actually to get a fix to my Mospeada cravings (thanks to previous reruns back in 2001 / 2002). Sure, a lotta you guys feels vindicated by HG, Macek, Yune or ROBOTECH in general ... but for me, its nothing worth revisiting. I enjoy my anime, both ROBOTECH & MACROSS, as those two series actually compels me to even seek out SDC Orguss. For BG vs Tatsunoko vs HG (& perhaps, WB) .... its corporate stuff most anime fans don't give a damn. In an era where we could easily bypassed international borders & downloaded an entire English-subbed Macross series, OAVs & movies for free with no restriction whatsoever coupled with hassle free online anime sites offereing exported Macross anime collections, plus with the ever industrious Hong Kong illegal DVD pirates, it is no longer a luxury to become all exclusive anime otaku when one can become for free. Well, back to topic at hand, Macross 7 TOTALLY ROCKS! SIVIL IS ONE SEXY & HOTTIE BADDIE! BOMBAAAAAA!

Hell, I even heard Pentagon covered up the whole shebang, & managed to dig up from GHOST's wreckage of a certain AI dron system that ultimately being redeveloped over as 'EDI - Extreme Deep Invader" UCAV drone & being tested aboard USS Abraham Lincoln. Seconded! All the Protodeviln would do is to suck entire Zentraedi fleet dry of Spiritia, & then, instant brainwashed brand new Supervision Army. Just imagine, a loose & opportunist protodeviln would do exactly that. What better way to confront a Zentraedi grand fleet with another mind-controlled Zentraedi grand fleet under Protodeviln's control (with addition of powerful Protodevilns at the side too)! Given entire non-cultured Zentraedi fleets didn't even have a single Anima Spiritia that could contained Protodeviln, I'm willing to bet Protodeviln gonna have a field day in amassing limitless spiritia & adding another brainwashed Zentraedi fleets into their burgeoning Supervision Army armada!

Not the story (let face it, RTLAM is another heavily retcon SDF:M, RT-style), only the mecha design. The production team may not want to use SDF:M mecha designs that are under BW rights, but using RT-verse existing mecha designs that looks atleast, nostalgic-wise, like its Macross counterpart.

Mecha Casting Call: VF-1 Replacement As for VF-1 Valkyrie, well, Big West own the lineart, so HG can kiss its arse goodbye if it ever to use the design. At the moment, most fan speculate that F-22 Raptor most likely will inspire the neo-version of VF-1. But I've a sinking feeling that if the big macs over at HG & WB want to milked anything remotely Macross in RTLAM, there's high chance the final retcon VF-1 will resembled like this: Yeah, the retcon VF-1 probably look alotta awful lot like VFE (Valkyrie Experimental Fighter) SW-AX-1 Schneeblume above. The VFE design has 'stealth' features much like contemporaries F-22 Raptor & JSF Lightning, of course, in pseudo neo VF-1 Valkyrie. There's high chance Tommy Yune will redesign that thing & spin it into his 'original' & 'inspired' new VF-1.

Of course, the only way ROBOTECH live action movie to look remotely Macross, if the RTLAM production can hired Kawamori as mecha consultant (a big IF). That way, RTLAM cannot touched any original Macross designs, but still managed to come with pseudo Macross-inspired designs. Wrong. Alto & Ranka stumbled onto the remains of SDF-04 Global (not Megaroad 01), one of the ill-fated 117th Research Fleet vessels. Last check, Megaroad 01 went missing near the center of the galaxy. Little is known of their fate, only listed as MIA (missing in action). Vajra only known attacks are those committed against 117th Research Fleet, Macross Galaxy & Macross Frontier. . SDF-04 Global was missing for nearly 15 years. Since the 117th Research Fleet experimented on Vajra species aboard SDF-04 Global, stands to reason that Vajra choose to spare the ship & breed inside its hull. The green alien pet is a Vajra, no doubt about that. Given Renka own admission she's quarter Zentraedi, hardly news. Halfbreed & fullbreed Zentrans & Meltrans littered the Macross universe. I don't see any Vajra male drones, only Vajra Queen. Vajra wants her because she's definitely part of the experiment conducted alongside Vajra by the 117th Research Fleet. In short, she is perhaps biologically, emotionally & pyschologically connected to Vajra.

I'm rootin' for Sheryl to finally wins Altho-Hime's heart in the end. Now's that a clincher for Mac F, much like how Misa wins the tug of heart between her, Ichijo & that other woman, Minmay. Renka Lee .... she reminds me too much of Minmay & Ishtar. Especially they lose their men to much adult, stronger women like Ichijo to Misa & Hibiki to Sylvie Gena.

It is the same as Gigile, whose human host didn't actually freed itself mentally from Gigile's mental domination. My bet, the man that is Ivano Gunther is no more, much less his conciousness, just an empty shell of a body that inhabited by supreme beings. Besides, Gepernitch true form is terrifying & will dried the entire universe of Spritia into Spritia Blackhole, meaning his own true physical body. Ain't want that TO HAPPEN TWICE. I'm rooting for 30 eps mark! Seriously though, if Macross Frontier proved to be a great (with viral Nyan-Nyan routine dance hitting worldwide) & instant hit like Macross 7 (thanks to successful J-Pop craze back in 1990s), then all bets are off, it'll be 2nd season for Mac F!
