Last year its all about Mac F, & UG Gundams marathon for me. Early this year .... well, I pulled a K-ON .... & suddenly its all Nodame Cantabille stuffs .... I dunno, slice of lice genre anime been hitting me like tons of bricks this year. Owhh, for the past two months, I got all Hojo Tsukasa's fever. Only previously watched Angel Heart on a marathon, then going all City Hunter madness ..... and yes, now hooked up on Cat's Eyes. Safe to say, it costs me a lotta money on this latest craze.

New project eh? Didn't I quipped a coupla months back on the previous same thread (already in the archive) that the only things vaiable to spur RT franchise would still be a MOSPEADA II project. And as I from time to time like to egg on TPTB at RT.com / RTX regarding Mospeada Love Live Alive to be re-edited into post RTSC follow-ups. I've been promoting both ideas at RT.com atleast since 2-3 years back. It would not be a surprise that HG might get wind of it, since RTSR on 'hiatus' & RT: LAM in development hell.

On the other hand ... I'm trying to get into Gundam UC era since the last 2 years, but cannot stomach all the Char vs Amurro deal. Although I'm quite pleased with latest incarnation of One-Year War OAVs, most notably MS Igloo 1 & MS Igloo 2. But personally, 08th MS Team & MS Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket are my favorites for UC Gundam. As for alternate eras, I totally hated Seed. Thank goodness I has discovered Gundam X, & been thinking to add Gundam Turn A to the deal. Wing is meh, but I dig the Movie version. Someone had been recommending me the 00 series, new-Wingesque with darker stories ... I might be checking on that one.

All that amount of pirated stuffs .... well, my Mac F DVDs are of Malaysian origins. Which mostly are copies from their counterparts in HK & Taiwan. Nowadays, the Hong Kong pirates just leeched the fan-sub Mac F torrents, re-packaged 'em as DVDs & exported 'em to Malaysia, Singapore & Philippines via legit means where the anime-goers relied on English-subs animes. Can't blamed 'em though .... demands had been skyrocketing thanks to Mac F. To wait for official Mac F DVD release with English subs certainly a pain in the neck. BW couldn't give rat's ass to cater to foreign market demands ... apart from toys, that is.

I support reboot .... with Macross the First reanimated - classic SDFM storyline with DYRL aesthetics.

Are we still on RT here? I mean, the only things nowadays that get me revved up on RT is just the newly re-released PTTSC tome. That's all ... apart from usual RT marathon-watching the series that I had once a year & itty bitty fanfic I can conjure up (even that is far & between). Truth be told, I'm more gear up towards Macross F: False Diva DVD release. RT, been there, done that. But Macross, HELL, there's a sequel to Macross F the Movie everyone been waiting! RT: LAM, it its ever get made (ever :: as in subjective 'ever':: ), nahhh, Voltron LAM get the axed ... so I won't put much stock over RT LAM development. Might as well better waiting for the retconned SDF: Macross just in case Kawamori revisited that old gem .... & decided to reboot the classic series ala SDF Macross shorts on the Macross pachinko games .... SDF: Macross in line with new updated animation, retcons & ofcourse, Ai Oboetemas! Gonna be a blast! I don't think HG had the guts ... unless they've been making sweet deals with BW (fat chance in hell) & actually release a token version of Ultimate Robotech (ouch!) with only the SDF: Macross campaigns available.

I don't givva a fart for reviews. I go to watch movies at cinema just for the sake of entertainment ... Prince of Persia is exactly that, entertained the lot of us. Pls remember to switch off the brain while watching the movie, though.

Nahhh, I'm not talking about toys ... its more about adding images of variable fighters from Astro Plan. Those Type Yi Fighters are quite 'meh' but the designs are atleast retained some originality ...

The design from Robotech: Shadow Rising Astro Plan looked promising, despite the so-called rip-off influence from both Macross Frontier & Gundam Seed. The flagship:

Blast from the past, the VF-13 Gamma pre-production art that Tommy Yune had been pimping since 2002 before it got the axe & replaced by Super Alpha fighter (Legioss with Super Pack. Clearly shows why Yune resorted to create more 'original' mecha in RTSC / PTTSC by copying existing Macross / Mospeada / Southern Cross designs - YF-1R (based on animation error of VF-1A), Bioroid Interceptor (based on Invid Fighter Bioroid), Super Shadow Alpha (Legioss with FAST pack) & VR-057 Super Cyclone (based on unused MOSPEADA pre-production art). The only original mecha designed by Yune is VML-9 Silverback .... the design that only available in comic, but not the animation ... Is it me or Yune can't even designed an original, decent transformable mecha?

Ahhh, well, given English is not my mother tongue & I'm not familiar with any Mat Saleh's / gaijin's / gwailoh's / farang's expression, pardon my misunderstanding.

Actually, I'll be that someone. Gonna popped RT: Codename on my DVD for my little nephews & nieces, so that they can learn English from some cool anime-in-Western-animation-clothing like I did in 1990. Then, well, Macross initiation can truly begin. Get 'em pumped up by Macross 7 series. Getting little kids get jiggy with Basara's J-Pop thingies, and then followed by Macross II. I'll not bothered airing Macross Plus / Zero / Frontier just yet, too much for 6-8 years old kiddies.

And actually, did more than fine! Ushiwareta Yume wo Motomete tune (Mospeada OP track) was translated in Malay, some upstart indie band started playing it in gigs all over Malaysia 2 years ago, bloody hell, the Malay version of the song become a hit to youngsters & middle aged crowd in Malaysia for one simple reason, the 1980s gen who grew on Mospeada dub, the late 1990s Gen-Xers who grew on Mospeada dub & early spoilt brats of 2000s who grew on Mospeada dub! Mospeada nostalgia RULEZZZZZZZ! BTW, the said indie band went on the become superstars both in Malaysia / Singapore / Indonesia thanks to directly ... ehhem, Mospeada!

What else apart from the usual politics of fan-wankering, fan-wanking, mod-buffing & mod-blustering in both RT.com & RTX.com nowadays? Why the heck these people can't just play nice with each others, & accept both RT & Mac status quo as per spelled out during BW vs Tats court verdicts years ago. Sigh ... RT fandom bleeding itself dry ..... Ah well, back to be a usual casual fan of RT, I guess. Being a Purist is such a drag, being a hardcore is such a waste, being a McKinniyist tend to be ignored, being a Universalist ain't making any friends ... Now, back to the most important decision of the week in my personal otaku diary .... wasting my hard earned income to splurge on May'n concert ticket in KL, Malaysia next Sunday or saving up for that big honkin' Tread Legioss models on some toystore ... uhhhhh ...

It might become the next RT series, so it is worth to be thrown in the discussion ....

RT: LAM be damned! Macross sequels be darned! We know we wanted a new Robotech series in vain of Macross sequels the likes of Macross 7 & Macross Frontier! I welcomed you to the future of newly animated ROBOTECH: SHADOW RISING! Clicky-clicky! :lol:
