    Thanks guys. Yeah the Fiskars mat looks nice and also helped balance out the colors so I don't really need to do any post-processing on any pics except for very minor tweaks.

    They might all say April 2020 because that's the "new" release date. Addendum: I say that because AE didn't have a second release order like Big in Japan, so it'll be a crap shoot if you gets yours in December or April from AE. Luckily I ordered one set from the first wave at BiJ so I should get that one for my 1S. The other three at AE I can wait till April since those valks don't even exist yet!     Switch is the first real Nintendo console I've owned since the SNES (and not counting handhelds like the awful backlight-less Game Boy Advance where you couldn't see anything). Only took Nintendo 20-something years to finally lure me back! Seriously, not including a backlight in the original GBA is one of the most epically boneheaded decisions made by Nintendo in their history of boneheaded decisions.

    HLJ very briefly reopened orders for the mark 85 when it was released on their site. Now it's discontinued.

    I can afford it, but as I thought about it, I concluded that I would be buying a $1000 statue (or paperweight, depending on your perspective). A toy this expensive I would barely handle at all, so as not to damage it even a little bit, not even minor wear and tear from just being handled as a toy. And I'm not a big enough Gundam fan to drop that much money for a statue. I'll continue waiting for a Metal Build Nu Gundam...

    Always making more work for me! Not that I mind any tips that help improve the final product. All the landing gear bay doors can be completely removed, which makes masking and painting much easier. Even the one at the very front, but it's in super tight. I had to wrap the door in several layers of masking tape, then use a pair of pliers to yank the door out. That looks so nice. I wish they'd produce the armor in 1/60 scale.

    Picked up Figuarts Iron Man Mk. 85 from HS just now. Sold out right after I finished checking out. So glad I didn't pay the ridiculous mark-ups from NY and other places.

    That's great news! Actually have a spare 1A (possibly two) that I hope to trade if I prove unable to get any future releases in this line. I say "possibly two" as I have no idea if that Japan Exclusive shop is reliable or not (testing the waters). If I end up with two spares I'll sell one to a board member who needs it.

    I used white primer, then sprayed white over it. I've no experience with metal parts, but white paint tends to be on the thin and watery side, so I used primer to help cover and stick better.

    Fully variable? Sounds like a sweet kit. What scale is it? That's one hell of a month you've had there!

    I just masked and painted them in place. The entire gear bay needs to be painted anyway, at least in the legs.

    It's pretty ****ed up if NY really does have a system of ranking customers, so that "steerage" can't even do things like change their address, as if they're trying to punish you for not being loyal enough.

    Think I'll cancel mine. It was an impulse buy and the thought of having to shell out another 15 or 20k yen or more just for the funnels makes it a little too much for me. If it was a complete package that would be another story.

    I emailed HLJ asking if there was any way to apply the coupon since I don't want to risk losing my order by canceling and hoping the preorder reopens and I can resubmit. Probably not, but worth a shot. I'm amazed at how ridiculously fast this sold out, despite the astronomical price tag. HLJ lasted like 4 minutes, but that's probably because it takes forever to check out on their website, even at the best of times.

    Man, now I kinda want one, not because I have any desire to pay close to a grand for any Gundam, but because other people seem to want it so bad.
