  1. I'd have rather the set had come with a second Constitution refit for the original and A versions, rather than the NX-01. Remember, Enterprise did what even Voyager couldn't: it killed the franchise.
  2. The renewals were a significant improvement over, well, all the Macross toys Bandai had ever produced up to that point, though this might be more an indictment of Bandai's near Toynami-levels of piss poor past products. (The still great Yamato 1/60 VF-1 came out the same year as Bandai's first VF-25 toys and wow that just made Bandai's efforts look even worse.) The renewal VF-25 is now kinda dated and isn't as good as the VF-31, but it's still a good toy and the best version of it... for now. Thanks! Frontier is probably the best Macross show to come out since the original series and I remain ever hopeful that Bandai will revisit the VF-25 and give us a new, improved version with all the progress made over the years.
  3. If you ever find a film/coating/spray that can replicate the Yamato rainbow effect (and doesn't cost an enormous sum) I'd love to know about it!
  4. Wow! You were a lucky kid. Owning toys like that was a pipe dream when I was a kid. Also, I always thought you were some kind of outer space potato man.
  5. So the reason that the MB Evas are so hard to get is because of all the users over at the EvaWorld forums?
  6. The rot starts at the top, and that's Bandai.
  7. Hmmm is there a thinner version? For something as small as a VF-1 canopy, I imagine it will be super hard to get it to conform to the curvature. Even Yamato had a hard time getting their film to stay on properly.
  8. I totally would've sprung for the old Yamato weathering versions if they looked like those customs!
  9. This is why I hate selling things on ebay. Too many of what I call "b**** buyers" on there like the one you''re currently dealing with.
  10. Some more playing around with photos and the VF-25F.
  11. Already $335 at NinNin and I don't think they even opened POs yet, like they're holding their supply until it sells out everywhere else so they can gouge. https://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/preorders/32668-evangelion-evangelion-eva-02-metal-build--4573102570536.html
  12. Tried, didn't get one. Oh well. *shrug* If I was actually an Eva fan, I'd be pissed at how hard Bandai makes it to buy any of their stuff. But it's exactly what's going to happen during the next DX VF-1 preorder. Getting tired of and too old for this crap. Rapidly approaching the "F U BANDAI" level where I simply get out of this hobby and be happy with my already large VF collection.
  13. The lengths I go to for a rainbow canopy...
  14. Oh, it absolutely will. Really makes the details visible. In the process of dusting off the shelves, so taking a few pics while I have some of my valks off their Yetis.
  15. I thought Evangelion was terrible and one of the most overrated shows ever with not even one likable character. But I kinda want that MB Eva 02 now because it does look pretty sweet and because a bunch of other people want it. Hurray for mob mentality!
  16. Yours is the Yamato version, which used a more beige color; Arcadia used white for the VF-0S. Yours looks to be in great condition too! The Yamato 0S was one of my earliest valks and is still a pretty good toy even with the improvements to valk toys over the years; I still have mine! The only major problem with Yamato's is the plastic in the upper arms had a tendency to, er, disintegrate randomly.
  17. Don't worry about it. After a few transformations you get a feel for just how much force you need to move the shoulders and stop worrying about breaking them. I was nervous about this or that breaking when I first starting buying Yamato 1/48s way back when. I only worry about the early variants with the cracked shoulder problem. I have a quite a few of those since I went out of my way seeking out VF-1s with the rainbow canopy. No worries if it's the Arcadia version.
  18. Nice review. Being able to kinda sorta close the wings with the missiles attached is a pretty stupid "benefit" of having ugly stumpy pylons compared to just having the wings open.
  19. Whoops! Yeah it sometimes comes loose when fiddling around. Can't wait to pair her up with the new Sv-51!
  20. I'm in for this extended version of Endgame simply because I view Avatar being the number 1 grossing movie of all time as being an indictment of humanity in general and reason enough for aliens to come along and demolish the Earth to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Short version: Avatar was a goddamn terrible movie.
