Well, a person can dream... Let me sit on this cloud a wee bit longer...

That looks really cool. The more Space Marines that are released for this line, the more I hope that we eventually get to see some Xenos from Bandai.

Well, not all shows that last multiple seasons are good. Look at all of the police procedurals and reality shows that have taken over network television for years. They all follow a template. But you're right, even so they are probably making someone money somehow. I think the Discovery template is benefiting from the streaming model. If it had to compete on network television, we would have most likely seen a different outcome for the show. I think the people who are complaining have valid takes. I mean, it is frustrating to watch. Anyway, taking a step back, I find it amusing how much dreck actually does appear on the major streaming networks. I guess it's easier to take risks with an on-line audience? Honestly, though, I appreciate the value of my streaming subscriptions when I get to see more gems.

Sweet! It looks like you can't go wrong with either NewAge or Magic Square for Shockwave. I think I prefer how NewAge shaped the legs, though. Oof. Will I be double dipping on Shockwave like I did with Optimus and Megatron? And is that H-13EX I spy in the background? Toy Starscream is looking good too.- 9316 replies

So I watched all of season one on UK Netflix. The whole idea of taking a pinch of Rick and Morty and a pinch of Star Trek and then mixing it into a blender didn't gel for me as a concept, but then the show got easier to watch after the third episode. I mean, everything is so extreme. Each character has an extreme personality. The starship is a ridiculous super-deformed caricature of other more familiar ships. This show even introduces its own extreme class system for the individual members of Starfleet. I do like that Beckett Mariner is not written as an animated Michael Burnham clone. Beckett's actions do have consequences, even though she's become apt at avoiding them by sticking with the lower deck crew. I thought the show did a good job of illustrating how Mariner's irreverence has quite the negative effect on those around her, especially in the later episode where she had to face her duplicate--the version of herself who actually did care. Anyway, I'm going to give season two a go. I'm curious to see how well Boimler does out on his own too.

In Mulgrew's interview, I got the impression that this version of Janeway is a hologram. So she'll be something like what the Doctor was in Voyager?

I was really turned off by how the writers had Michael turn on Saru last season to make that power grab for Discovery’s Captain’s chair. The plot with the child was already strained, but that tangent on who should lead put an even bigger damper on everything for me. It reminded me of the reckless characterizations from season one. Anyway, I think this Trek story lost me. I don’t want to find out what happens next.

Seriously. I've ordered Skywarp at The Chosen Prime but I'm really excited to see Starscream in hand when he's released in June/July. I'll be sticking to the three main seekers at MP scale, so I'm also hoping that Takara hits it out of the park in the quality department.- 17269 replies

Magic Square's Perceptor is looking good to me. Their Bee and Cliffjumper...not so much. I'll stick with NA for those two. I'm already in for NA Prime. That prototype is looking good too, and I'm really looking forward to pairing the white version with their Magnus armor.- 9316 replies

Seeing the blocky Siege core bot reused for Kingdom magnus is disappointing, especially after reading that the designers had plans to use ER Prime as the core bot. If that's true, then Hasbro really missed an opportunity there. Yeah, I'm surprised they aren't utilizing the ER Prime mould more than they already have. We have Prime himself and two repaints? Why not do more with that design? On a similar note, I'm also surprised that we haven't seen more repaints of Seekers that aren't coneheads.- 17269 replies

Same here. The whole point is that the setup is ridiculous and slapstick. -
It took a while for me to get my order confirmation last night too @Dobber. It showed up in my history first and then some minutes later the email hit my inbox. Sadly, my luck with scoring any GWP on these popular LEGO sets remains unchanged. I had the gifts in my original order but when it finally went through they were gone. Curiously, the site did add me to a queue at one point last night and I noticed over 1000 other people were waiting for the page to load. I’m going to assume that we’ll be seeing plenty of the bonus GWP sets popping up on ebay and the like.

It is a bummer. This is the second logistics SNAFU with a LEGO set since the new year. The first was the Creator Expert Porsche 911. The US missed out on the limited bonus add-ins for that set, even though other regions were able to get them. I hope this doesn't turn out to be the same type of shenanigans. Edit: The site was getting hammered for a good half hour there. I think I was able to get my order in. At least, I see it listed in my recent history. I've yet to receive an email confirmation for it but sometimes that comes later when there's lots of traffic.

Wheeljack has a few clever transformation sequences, albeit some parts can be finicky. The partsforming hands, for instance, finish the side of the car in alt mode but only one set of hands really fits well for this (the gun holding hands) and even those hands will show gaps if the legs aren't sitting right. Speaking of the legs, they have a nice sliding mechanism that folds up but the first couple of times I transformed my copy the movement was stiff and I would accidentally pop a leg off the ball joint. Limbs popping off is a small nitpick for me since they pop right back on. I like that we get two different heads (one with the blue 'ears') and the smaller sidearm can stow away. Articulation in bot mode is excellent. In alt mode my copy of Wheeljack rolls nicely on all four tires. The paint apps are nice too. No smudging. I do have one random spot of green on mine but it's on the back of the leg and isn't obvious. All said, I can recommend it. I'll post some pictures tomorrow if things aren't too busy here. Otherwise, I'll get them up over the weekend. Hound/Optics Hunter is on its way from The Chosen Prime so I'm still waiting for that one to arrive. Hopefully, it'll be here next week.- 9316 replies

I'm one of the few who passed on FT Phoenix so I'm looking forward to what Takara is planning for the official MP. Hasbro did an okay job with WFC Jetfire, but it is a chunky bit of kit and I thought it was a bit unwieldy for posing with the stiff ratchet joints. I would be interested to see if an MP Skyfire improves on that so-so articulation in any way. If Takara comes through with some clever design choices, then the price will become the tough sell for me. I mean, FT Phoenix wasn't cheap, but Takara is aiming closer to Premium Arcadia prices. For now, I'm in a holding pattern. Skids looks fantastic, as does his mould partner. I wonder if the two releases are going to be spread out at all?.- 17269 replies

I have Iron Factory's all-in-one Ultra Magnus. That's the figure that got me started with these Legends scale Transformers. Since Magnus, I've picked up their version of Cliffjumper, Wheeljack, Hound, and Exhaust. I am keen on the way they lean into IDW. It reminds me of MMC's Reformatted line at times (also a favorite). I was thinking that one of the recently announced Legends Devastators would go well face-to-face with IF Magnus. Anyway, I'm just getting started with a G1 Legends collection from Magic Square and NewAge. So far I have Optimus and Megatron from both companies, a couple NA seekers, and NA Ironhide and Ratchet. Going by the out-of-the box experience, I do think that MS has a slight edge with fewer visible gaps in bot mode. That said, NA releases have nifty add-on parts, similar to the Hasbro mainline WFC figures, which solve the nitpicks that I have with them. I'm waiting on a number of preorders, including G1 Magnus from NA and MS. That will be a fun comparison.- 9316 replies

I'm with you on this one, @M'Kyuun. I love the look of NA Bee and Cliffy. The bot-mode chests don't bother me one bit since these guys are going to be tiny in hand. I'm just amazed by the clever engineering at this scale—articulation that mimics Bee 2.0.- 9316 replies

You're welcome! Speaking of VIP points. There is word that LEGO is running a VIP promotion (1800 points) for another satellite to go along with this Shuttle set. As usual, it'll be a limited run only. I haven't had any luck getting these promotional sets, but I figured I would share in case anyone else wants to try. https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/lego-nasa-discovery-space-shuttle-and-hubble-telescope-official-details/

Yes. LEGO allows you to add multiple vouchers. The only limitation is that your discount cannot be higher than your subtotal. That is, they won't pay you for buying a LEGO set : https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/help/online-help/lego-vip/where-to-add-vip-codes-promotional-codes-and-discount-codes-at-checkout-408100000017545
