The big reason so many people are doing this is because they're still hung up on the G1/whatever continuity they're holding on to. Transformers canon is such a horrible mess that it's impossible to try to link it all together. I do agree that there are some plot holes that could be filled, but none of the giant gaping sink holes that people are suggesting exist.

He does have a point, though. The fighter mode does look like crap.

It's easiest to reconcile how these robots look by completely divorcing them from any G1 roots they may have had. It's like trying to enjoy Energon or Robots in Disguise. Even though they have the same character names, I find them physically sickening to watch and place them in a different universe from G1 (which isn't that great, now that I've tried watching it again). I've been looking forward to this film since it was announced, and have enjoyed the trailers and movie designs right from day 1.

Come one, come all? I was always pleased with the Descent/Freespace games. Quick to learn and lots of fun, especially considering the main competition was Doom II at the time.

I would prefer if Unicron were referenced, but never explictly shown. Giving him form and image takes away from the awe and mystery that a godlike Chaos-Bringer is supposed to have.

Which is an offical mecha in Robotech. Yeah, that's splitting the hair mighty fine, but it's a far cry from Yamato's incessent rereleasing of repaint after repaint. As you can tell, I'm not that fond of that marketing ploy.

Because hooking up (even temporarily) the male and female leads of the show is one of the most boring and over-used plot devices that Hollyweird has, and it irritates me to no end. As soon as it was announced that Starbuck was going to be a woman, I knew that she and Apollo would get it on. Same thing with Adama Sr. and the President. Saw both of those coming from a mile away and the show didn't disappoint in delivering it. Now, BSG is hardly the only transgressor in this matter. Stargate SG-1 is by far the worst for that in recent sci-fi shows, and I even like that show! It got so bad that I refuse to buy Season 8 on DVD, even if it means having an incomplete collection. I hope and pray that Stargate Atlantis (my other favourite show) doesn't follow that same well-trod path.

Depends on how you define it. To me, it jumped the shark as soon as Apollo and Starbuck hooked up.

I'm reasonably certain it's the TV, as I don't recall that hum being there before I bought it. The hum is there whenever I turn the speakers on, regardless of the TV itself being on or off. EDIT: Though upon further inspection, it appears to be the speaker itself since the hum changes volume as the main system volume is changed, be it up or down.

Money, to be honest. The price of most plastics has shot through the roof in the last few years and headed up to heights unknown. To make something that big would cost major bucks to the producer, which would in turn inspire them to pass those costs (plus mark-up) onto the customer.

Ever since I got my XBR2, the centre speaker of my sound system has a persitant, low-level hum that's just loud enough to be irritating. Moving the speaker away from the TV doesn't seem to do any good, nor does moving the wires around in the back. Any thoughts?

What? You mean they actually look like the 14 year-olds they're supposed to be? That's not allowed for Asuka/Rei figures.

I don't care what the box says, that's not Starscream. Thundercracker, maybe. Skywarp, sure. But not Starscream. Totally different colours for him.
