  1. 1) Patlabour 1 2 Bio-Booster Armour Guyver (first series, though the new one isn't so bad) 3) Detonator Orgun (curse you for beating me to it, Rachet! ) 4) AD Police Files (the three-volume OVA, not the craptacular series) 5) Robotech
  2. My top two "must have at all cost" toys will never happen: Captian America's massive Alpha Fighter And a Captain America VFH-10 AJAX fighter from Southern Cross The first is dead by CoD order, and the seocnd never got enough support
  3. At least I'm not the only one who has trouble with those batteries Where on the box can you see which chipset it was made with? I want to know if the new sets have reached my stores yet.
  4. Maybe that's why the companies are going to the smaller size, then
  5. Speaking as a player and lover of the old-style Robotech RPG (which I prefer over the show itself, go figure) I have to say that I'm not too impressed by most of that podcast. The new artwork and such is and always will be a great thing, but that whole "manga--sized" deal is just a turn-off for me. I was buoyed by the fact that there'll be a "special edition" that's their regular size with some extra goodies tossed in. As for the rules, I always thought that their system (clunky as it may be) struck a good balance between being anime-accurate and being playable. I mean, if you went with the anime as a bible, the VF-1D would be a death trap and the Cyclones wouldn't be able to do anything. With that in mind, and healthy imagination, their version of Robotech is a great breath of fresh air. I especially enjoyed their take on the Reconstruction Era, set between to the first two generations and dealing with the leftover Zentradi, a fractured world government that was rapidly losing any real power, the up-and-coming Armies of the Southern Cross (I always enjoy playing ASC prototype mecha side-by-side with VTs and Destroids). That's an era that the series skipped a great deal of and it's a pity. Some of their later non-canon stuff is also great, such as the idea that a pocket of Robotech Masters survived into the Invid-occupied Earth of the third generation, and now have enough Flowers of Life to rebuild their armada if they ever escaped Earth. In that story, you could have mecha and characcters from all three generations battling with and against each other. Basically, RT the RPG works if you look at it as being more about getting the general atmosphere of the anime right and not as a literal interpretaion thereof.
  6. The thought of all that Misato fan-service with said character as a guy is just so, so wrong.
  7. How do I get into the North American site? I could only access the European ones.
  8. Oh... Em... Gee...
  9. The biggest problem with making a Robotech movie is that it's an 85-episode seralized show, where one episode directly affects the next. Skipping through to any part of the story without telling the bits before will just gut it and gouge out chunks of character and plot development, and we all know that the characters are the real highlight of the show.
  10. MTV.com has an interview with the directors and some sneak-peaks at spoilery material right here
  11. You mean... there are games other than Halo 3 coming out?
  12. I suspect we'll be hearing a great deal more of that as this project (hopefully) moves forward
  13. B-but... the media would never lie to us! It's just unthinkable.
  14. Actually, I have to disagree with you. Having seen both Robotech's First Generation and the original Macross how, I firmly believe that Robotech did a better job with the plot and characters, especially towards the end of the show.
  15. Which is good, because if you did than that last comment would've made you into a liar
  16. Over-marketting is more like it. I dislike what they're doing now because there was simply no need for it beyond creating new and profitable marketing opportunities. Actually, I rather like Evangelion. I own the series on DVD, have several of the model kits, toys, manga issues (translated and non).
  17. Is it wrong for me to openly admit that I like RIFTS?
  18. Just accept that this entire series is going to be one long product placement ad. It's a simple money-grab and nothing but.
  19. Don't forget about Mass Effect, which is due out on November 20th.
  20. Colonial Marines only need ONE prop: the motion tracker. Imagine using that to track a Predator, only to have the blip disappear right in front of you. You move on to the next room, never knowing that you were standing in front of a stealthed alien. Do recall that not every Predator is going to stick slavishly to their hunting code. Some of them are insane enough to even break it, as was seen in Batman vs Predator.
  21. But it's true. Whenever I go shopping for a dining room table, I always consider the "gaming factor". If it's not spacious enough for four gamers (complete with charsheets and associated world books), dice, and a GM screen area, then I'm not interested and pass on it.
  22. And that's assuming that the new reprinted cards haven't had some rules tweak that changes them from their orrginal incarnations. Also, the expansion sets are used in blocks of three. So as soon as the new product comes out, the last one is no longer legal which means that all the players have to ditch those cards and buy the new ones... It's like paper crack, it really is. I watch these people drop (literally) hundreds of dollars a week on this hobby and I just have to shake my head.
  23. Do you know why they want to lock out China? To deal with the piracy issues?
  24. Nah, that "dirty little smuggler" would just trade that new strung-out Princess for his freedom. He already gave her to his mob boss to settle a debt, so why wouldn't he do it to save his own skin from a blaster? That glitterstim stuff destroys lives, I say.
