  1. Perhaps for AvP 3. In the meantime, this looks like it'll be great fun.
  2. Now you know how Magic players feel. They've been hosed for years by WotC and their incessent rereleases.
  3. Prime Directives was decently passable. It takes place as a sequel to the first film and totally ignores the other two. Some ideas were great and well-founded, other plot points... weren't. But the big killer is the actor they got to play Alex Murphy. He did a fine job acting, make no mistake, but he just didn't wear the RoboCop suit well. Peter Weller worked with a mime artist to get the motions and movements to work, and this new guy didn't. He comes across as looking like he's got a rod crammed up in places that sun doesn't shine. That one flaw is big enough to keep me from really enjoying the series, which is a shame since they have so many other good moments and homages to the film that do work.
  4. You think that's bad, just look at the drug dealer himself. Not only does he lie, cheat, steal, and peddle drugs, but look at how thouroughly he debased that princess. Started out all nice and sweet, just stringing her along until he could get the addiction started, and from then on... does he ever let her leave the Falcon? On a slightly different topic, if you think this thread is interesting, just try reading/watcing Dune and drawing comparisons with modern-day events.
  5. That's the first time I've ever seen a "This Preview is for RESTRICTED audiences". It's always been the green background and "raited for all audiences". Still, this looks to be oh so awesome. And I *liked* AvP1...
  6. Yes, it's a terrible movie. Just utterly atrocious.
  7. There are only three options for the 360. "Dolby Stereo" "Dolby Digital 5.1" and "Dolby Digital 5.1 with WMA". I had it on the middle one, the 5.1 option.
  8. I can only disable the internal speakers, but that still doesn't change the way only two of the speakers were in use. But it's a moot point, since I figured out a work-around and just hooked my 360's audio up to the system and bypassed the TV sound altogether.
  9. There's a switch for the audio cables? I only see the HDTV and TV switch.
  10. No Bay for TF2? I'm crushed by this. No, really I am.
  11. I just finished playing email tag with Yamaha Canada's techincal help people and they told me about the optical cable. I didn't even know the 360 HAD an optical port. I hooked that up to a digital in port on my receiver and it worked like a charm. It's just that the system wasn't outputting 5.1 information through the standard 360 coax cables. Odd, but the problem is resolved.
  12. I need help from all you really smart people. I can't get the Xbox360 to recognize my surround sound system. I have the two audio cables going into my reciever and the HD cables going into my TV, and yet the Episode III THX test only puts sound through the left and right speakers. The reciever test signals cycle through the speakers just fine, but I can't get the DVD to output to them. What gives? EDIT I've narrowed the problem down to my AV receiver. It won't switch from 2 channel output to 5 channel output, no matter how many times I run through the setup menu. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
  13. Thank God I'm not alone!
  14. I'm quite happy with my 360 HD-DVD drive, but I may have to look into getting a Blu-Ray player/drive if only because Stargate Atlantis is due out on that format. Other than that, I'm quite happy with my HD-DVDness. the fact that TF is coming out for that only makes me happier
  15. I just bought an optical cable to hook my big-screen TV up to my home theather system, and yet the sound still only plays through the TVs speakers and not the surround system as I'd like. What gives and how can I force it to do my bidding? This is a Sony XBR2 LCD, by the way. EDIT I just hooked it up using coax cables and that seems to have worked, but I'm wondering why it didn't work with the optical cable and is there any way that I can make it work? Double Edit It would appear that I AM getting sound out of only two speakers and they're the reverse of what they should be. I get sound out of my two front speakers, but the LEFT sound plays in the RIGHT speaker and vice versa. Anyway I can fix this and enable the rest of them? I've already tried going into Windows Vista's sound configure and changing it in there, but that's a bust.
  16. Sorry, but you needed a little editing. There's nothing about this that seems new or different to me. It'd be like someone going out and making new Lord of the Rings movies.
  17. The only decent comic relief character is HK-47, and that's because he's a bloodthirsty and sociopathic droid who truely loathes the Meatbags he's forced to associate with
  18. Unfortunatly, no. The yellowing you see is a chemical reaction to the UV radiation in sunlight and oxygen in the air. All you can do is cover it up with new paint.
  19. I had trouble enough with the opening video. I felt like such a dirty old man with that and I'm not even thirty!
  20. I've found that the video calibration on Star Wars Episode III to be very good at getting rid of the vile factory settings. There are other "professional" set-up discs, but I'm unwillling to pay money for them because I'm happy with how the Ep III disc did the job .
  21. Yeah, what is it about Jabba that brings out all the cute slaves?
  22. That'd be good. I'm just not a fan of ruffles, no matter how much fanservice they conceal
  23. Don't like this newer version as much. I prefer the shirt you had on your prototype.
  24. You all speaketh the trueth. MGS lost me as a fan the second Liquid Snake reappeared through a surgically reattached arm and was able to possess Revolver Ocelot. That, plus the looooooooong sequences of watching two faces babble at each other just killed MGS for me. As others have said, leave me with Splinter Cell for any stealth actionI may desire. Boo! Hiss!
