  1. If you had kept quiet, you would have never found out you owned a DX and not a 1/72 Hey it's your avatar Yay Anyways - I admit that in your pics, I'm checking out the 1/72 more than the chick Pete
  2. That's his HOBBY? :/ Pete
  3. Thanks. Well - that's good to know, because the outfit is hideous (color wise) - but now I guess we can't blame it on the cosplayer... As for Adella - I dunno... I dunno. Her hair's too pink... Of course, if either of these fine ladies were actually next to me in any context or setting - I really wouldn't be complaining this much Pete
  4. April. Feb. Meaning March... I think we have a VF-1D thread...don't we? Or don't we yet? Pete
  5. I would really rather Yamato gave us a 1/60 Regult with a proper poseable fighter figure. Or...ooooooooooooooooo...here's something: how about GNU Zendradi soldiers and pilots who can then FIT into the 1/60 Regults and Glags? THAT would be the greatest Pete
  6. My bet is that the left pinky finger on the VF-11B will be systematically brittle and explode when putting the gun pod on It's always something asanine like that with Yamato Pete
  7. I'm confused. When in the series did Sheryl wear clothes like that? I seriously don't remember ... Nice girl - but she doesn't scream "Sheryl!" to me... although - I would of course let her scream whatever she wanted to me Pete
  8. I'm not in favor of the "include two heads" or "include three heads" idea. It actually makes no sense. I want to have a 1A Hikaru and a 1S Hikaru. And I want to be able to put them side by side - not have one body and be forced t always had a head lying around in storage. As for cannon fodder - again - I would like to have several of these - so what's the point of multiple heads? If they included multiple heads then someone (me) would start pestering Yamato to sell hedless Valkyrie for my multiple heads. That's ridiculous. So - what they are doing here is just fine Pete
  9. Don't scare people like me That is NOT the 1/72 Pete
  10. I might eventually warm to him - but I don't like his legs. Blurr's characteristic boot-legs are missing on his skinny peggies Pete
  11. What gives it away for me are the leaner legs... Pete
  12. Re: New Animated Dai Atlas & Alpha Trion Yes! Transformers: Animated does it again! It is - I believe - one of the greatest ironies imaginable, that Hasbro's "kiddie" line is the one most appealing to a 30 year old adult collector like myself, while its' "realistic" movie line has absolutely no appeal to me. But, this is not only because of "homages" (had those in Energon/Superlink), or name recognition (had those in just about every line), but because of near PERFECT homages in the sense of DESIGN. These characters are not even really "upgrades" or "reimaginings" - they ARE the G1 line; albeit given a more "cartoonish" look that makes them a tad more dynamic and playful. But essentially, they are the G1 line. There are perhaps two or three Animated figures I feel are off the mark (Shockwave, Blurr and Sludge/Snarl) - but just about all the rest of them have been pure win. And Dai Atlas is no exception. Truly an outstanding piece. Hopefully he will be a Voyager class. Oh - and a bit of Gurren Lagann Full Drillizing going on there...? Pete
  13. So... I was wondering whether to post Yoko's boobies as being bigger than Nanase's even and make a remark about Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann... but I decided I ought to ask sensible questions once in a while in between the T&A... Can anyone guesstimate what the original "giant" crew of the Macross was? How many Supervising Army dudes would man that kind of ship? And do you think the lay out had to be drastically refurbished to get humans in there? Pete
  14. That's the 1/72? Right? ... Pete

    yamato's next move

Actually - that's not a bad idea. They already have the VF-OS made. It would be good to make reactive armor and sell it as a set. I'd get it. Pete
  16. Well - I will grant you that the robots in Transformers do all look very generic - and Devastator in particular certainly does too. But, then again, so did G1 - it's just that their "generic" look was boxy/chunky, while here we have more fluid, alien looks. I can't be as down on the movie as you are, because I understand that the design aesthetic they went for was "alien robots" and particularly making the Decepticons as minimally anthropomorphic as possible in order to highlight their "evil" by making them so very different from humans. This does, of course, somewhat go against the grain since "evil" should have nothing to do with someone looking different. But... I dunno. I liked the first movie. Yeah - sure - I conceed all the plot holes people have pointed out. But guess what? More than Meets the Eye had its' share of plot holes too (Spike being knocked off an oil rig and surviving - his dad jumping in after him to save him..and surviving?) as did the Marvel comics. Transformers were always supposed to be somewhat fun. I can't be too harsh on them - and I keep reminding myself Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime which is really a big plus. I think - on the whole - the movie franchise could have come out A LOT worse. Seriously. I think the first movie was really in the spirit of G1 - which is what I dreamed of - and it delivered big time; with great special effects to boot. I'm expecting the sequal to be even better. I'm happy the Constructicons are in it; I'm happy they form Devastator. I'm happy Megatron is a tank. I'm curious to see whether they give the Transformers more character development this time around (I hope so) and focus it on their character arcs (hope so). I seriously think this franchise could have been a much MUCH bigger train wreck or it could have financially tanked and doomed Transformers. The only thing I'm unhappy with is the lack of collector's quality toys - since the movie toys don't really cut it for me from the pics I've seen... Pete
  17. Actually, I suspect that the sequal won't be as bad. In this one, as with any "first" installment of a movie - they pretend that it is the most amazing and important film that has ever come out and that if you don't go see it, you will be cursing your lost opportunity to your grave. By the time the sequel rolls along they'll just be marketing it as "hey, time to watch this crap again." Of course - I dunno - I could be proven wrong. I admit I haven't seen the trailers yet, just some screen caps. And you know what? At LEAST Michael Bay got Megan Fox on Transformers - she is utter hotness - she at least knows how to MOVE and WALK in an appealing way and she delivered her lines with ok acting skills - sometimes she even came off as funny (like in the scene where she appears when Sam's parents are yelling at him for maybe masturbating)... But - as I look at the chicks in GI joe...oh boy... The Baroness: NOT HOT. She looks like she should be doing Head&Shoulders shampoo commercials. No - sorry - she look like she IS doing shampoo commercials. It's like they took her off the set of a Dove shower cream commercial and put that outfit on her - but she still can only make ONE facial expression: "Ahhhh creammmy Dove shower...mmmm..." And it's not attractive because she's not naked and in the shower. Scarlett? She just looks all wrong. Fat - it's the uniform that makes her look fat - with all those paddings... I dunno... Stormshadow is the only character who LOOKS good. Snake Eyes looks ok. Oh yeah - I BET SNAKE EYES WILL TALK. Yep - I bet he will be spewing lines left and right and taking his mask off to kiss scarlet. Pete (ever the optimist...)
  18. GET THESE MUTHA F@CKIN' POLITICS OUTTA THIS MUTHA F@CKIN THREAD!!!!!!! .... That said: Anime528k: Your Star Wars post was pure genius Where did you get that? Did you write that? If so - hat tip As for the size of the Macross - it actually isn't all that big, given that chart - which is good - since it shouldn't be "thaaat" big... But this kindo f makes me wonder - there are some scenes in SDFM TV where Global flies pretty low over a city - and the Macross dwarfs the buildings. Lots of cities with small buildings in them - true (I live in one...Warsaw...where all the buildings are relatively small compared to other metropolises) ... but still - in that episode, the Macross looked waaaaaaaaay too huge... Pete
  19. First you have to get the backpack proper (big part) bent 90 degrees OFF OF THE LITTLE HINGE. THEN and only then bend the hinge itself another 90 degrees. In both instances you will feel a bit of pressure. If you still have major trouble, I can throw some pics up tomorrow. Pete
  20. If I were his mother, I'd be alarmed that he hasn't been eating right, and tell him he needs to beefen up a bit... Pete
  21. Aesthetically it reminds me of Bionical... Also - you can just so clearly see that part of the reason Devastator's head looks like that is so the toy could light up But...oh well... I'm curious to see how the toys come out. Pete
  22. Well - what did we expect? Look - I'll give these film designs one thing: they are aesthetically consistant. I mean - what did you expect Devastator to look like? This is actually ok. I'm fine with it. Pete
  23. Well, obviously I'm not voting because I don't own any. But, since I'm talkative and always have something to say... But the reason I'm not voting is because to me - these are "broken in box" - in the sense that all of the Ozmas have twisted antenas. And I do mean ALL OF THEM. Not "one out of two" or "the first production batch" but all of them. I haven't seen any non-twisted antenna Ozma's - other than people who used a blow drier on him... It doesn't help either that the under-wing panel lining is non-existent and that the whole thing looks to have a cheap plastic finish to it. All of these factors make it "broken" in my eyes - a broken opportunity. But I'm not mad at Bandai. I should finally have my 1/72 Ozma quite soon and hopefully will be able to show it the love and attention that the DXs were not shown. Pete
  24. I always liked to think that it was somewhere between those two dates - meaning Feb. 14th - meaning my birthday. Everything important, you see, always happens on my birthday. Valentines day, for example Pete
  25. No kidding I thought for a second someone got something confused and put up a picture of a cat litter box... Pete
