Well - first off - obviously we're just giving you our impressions/opinions. You should get the figures you think are cool for whatever reasons. I personally don't like Blurr cause he doesn't have big "boots" like G1 stupid and silly, I know...but there it is... On the other hand - I love Swindle - but mainly just because I love the character, and this one is the first decent attempt at making him LOOK like the G1 version we saw in the cartoon/comics. But... here's my list of "don't go there:" 1) Ummm...hmm... 2) Think...think... 3) Ah! Soundwave. Yeah - Soundwave. Why? Well - he's squat and he turns into a truck/SUV thing. The guitar turning into Laserbeak is a nice touch, and yeah - he does have a major G1 vibe in robot mode. But the vibe is alo toooo much in synch with his character presentation in Animated which, sadly, veer COMPLETELY away from his G1 persona. He's no longe the dark, mysterious second in command who spies on everyone - instead he's just essentially a radio gone crazy and intent on killing all non-machine life. I know it's kind of lame to be down on a toy because of how its' character is portrayed - but that's just how I am. I "see/feel" the character in the toy - and in Soundwave's animated variation I don't see and feel the Soundwave I love. 4) Repaints Things like "dipped in Tar Bumblebee" (AKA Elite Gaurd BBB), or Gay Friendly Lugnut (AKA Atomic BallBreaker) 5) Umm...ummm.....oh...Oilslick?....because...he's...um...a marginal character...umm... Sorry - but it's really hard. The cast is small and most of them ARE worth getting... Get Wasp(inator) too He's cool. I'm not being helpful here - I know Pete

I don't remember that... if they wear panty-hose - then it's usually clear/skin color isn't it? I don't remember Cathy's legs having dark/black panty-hose?... I know they're technically better looking on Alto - but does anybody have any pictures of Ozma's VF-25S 1/72 with Sheryl Nome decals? I've looked through the attachments (well - still am) - but it's a loooong sweep and often the picture titles are not clear... Pete

Sure there are plenty of them. Deluxe Bumblebee is by far one of the best TFs ever made. Deluxe Prowl has one of the most ingenuitive transformation for a motorcycle and is worth getting just for that. Deluxe Ratchet is fun Sorry - but the Animated line is full of fun figures It would be easier to list the "do not buy" figures - there are a couple which, IMO, do not warrant purchase or aren't that great. If you're going to get just one Decepticon, make it Black Arachnia. By far one of the best figures in the line, a great incarnation of the original Beast Wars figure, a femme fatale and a generally good piece to have. Pete

Well, that is a big plus When I was 23, my ex-girlfriend told me I had the body "of a 45 year old"... now I'm 30...and I don't even wanna think about what kind of body I have now... As to TV vs DYRL Macross: I too would prefer TV version, but I guess what's most important to me is that such a big figure has lots of internal detail; mainly the city and the like being shown. But this thread is fast becoming like...oh...can't remember...which thread was it where....ah yes! This thread is becoming like the DX thread - oh my...actually - it's going to TOP the DX thread because we KNOW we have a year to wait for this guy. The DX thread (well - threads because - weren't there three?) at least was speculation that lasted maybe a month or two (at least that's how I remember it...)... Guys - please stop making personal attacks and insinuations on one another. And others should please refrain from "taking sides." It really is sad that so many folks are holding grudges against one another for stuff from the past. Macross - whether you like the toys or not and independent of what you think of the prices - is supposed to be a fun hobby that we all enjoy. The forums serve to express our opinions. We MUST get along with one another and learn to forgive eachother for past slights. I haven't seen anything written by ANYBODY - DND, Hurin or anybody else - that warrants personal attacks from ANY SIDE, let alone warrants the emotions. EVEN if somebody used poor judgment in the past - let bygones be bygones. I for one would prefer it if - no matter how stepped on your egos might feel - you just let go and moved on. It is possible to express the views and opinions you guys are expressing without getting into nasty personal attacks and opening old wounds. It really is sad (as in bo hoo sad and not as in pitiful) when people on the boards fight like this. Macross should bring us together. If I were Master of the Universe - I' make all of you guys wear assless chaps and sing fire bomber songs. Not my biggest question. I will happily get both if: a) The Quarter's final appearance looks like what it seeeems to suggest: a good figure, with good design and no design flaws (aesthetic flaws) like the Dx, which IMO had numerous aesthetic compromises. b) The SDF-1 takes advantage of the 1/2000 scale to give us opening panels on the legs revealing city mode and numerous other features rather than just being a two foot long brick. Because I was wondering about how they were armed with the Mauler RÖV-20 anti-aircraft laser, and yet the Boquomouxy Quel-Quallie has 2 x double-barrelled long-range electron particle beam guns (mounted forward on main fuselage). I imagine that if the two went up against one another, we would have a beam gun verses a laser cannon - what is the per minute rate of discharge for the Quel-Quallie vs. that of the Orguss Valkyrie and what is the main difference between "beams" and "lasers" - and if they are different, then are "laser beams" a combination of both? Who would win? Shoji Kawamorii: I...you...I think the Orguss...because it is geared towards combat and has a tank mode in addition to the standard fighter/gerwalk/battroid modes... Mr. March: Well, this would be a logical presumption, but then you have the Quel-Quallie confronting the VF-1J with GBP-1S, where we conveniently ALSO find it armed with...2 x Fixed Mauler RÖV-20 anti-aircraft laser cannons, firing 6,000 pulses per minute each! Now I found that particularly fascinating! And thus my inquiry about the Mauler. You see, Hikaru Ichijo was not really able to defeated the Boquomouxy Quel-Quallie despite these armaments - so I wondered whether the distinction between beams and lasers had any bearing here? Shoji Kawamorii: I...well..the...um...Orguss has a tank mode so... Mr. March: Surely a tank mode wouldn't do it much good in space? Shoji Kawamorii: Hey...that Sheryl - she's cute isn't she? Mr. March: Moving on, I wanted to inuqire about 1 x triple barreled fixed rear rapid-fire laser gun placement (mounted starboard side rear fuselage in Fighter/GERWALK modes, starboard side front torso in Battroid mode on the General Galaxy/Messer-Varauta Fz-109F Elgerzorene. Now - given how this armament changes placement depending on what mode the fighter is in - could it be fired in a 360 circle while the fighter is transforming? You know - a kind of "super transformation rapid fire attack?" Shoji Kawamorii: That is an interesting question. I think it would be dangerous for a valkyrie to fire any weapon mid-transformation... Mr. March: Potentially, yes, but given the special hard point stations for external SAP on standard VF-2SS Valkyrie II, they were capable of firing missiles mid-transformation, so... Shoji Kawamorii: But Macross II isn't canonn...so... Mr. March: Well, alternative universe. Speaking of which, given Vajra fold technology, would it be possible to reach alternative universes using such technology? Could the Proto-Devilin have come from such an alternative universe? Shoji Kawamorii: It...is possible...however...very difficult to theorize such things... Mr. March: Right. One last question before you go. Who was behind the development of the 2.4 GGV class Flemenmik thermonuclear converter ? DnD - nobody was hating on you dude. I personally didn't take any offence at your griping about the price and whether or not it's worth it. But don't be surprised that on a Macrossworld Board there will be "crazy fans" who love this stuff and think it totaly is worth it.
