  1. I hope the stand doens't yellow as fast as the YF-21's, mined yellowed very quickly.
  2. My DYRL Roy is one of the initial v2 release with old crotch, tinted canopy and extra brittle shoulder hinges, eventhought I got the shapeway replacements I was feeling the need for a new Roy. I was eyeing a 30th anniversary w/option parts on mandarake for around 150 but now I'll just wait for Arcadia release. Preordered from HLJ. Hoping Max & Miria get released soon. May the selling frenzy of Yamato DYRL Roy begin everywhere.
  3. I guess Arcadia estimated that its stocks will eventually go on sale as shelf warmers and they are compensating it in the price? I hope the box doesn't become thicker with the stand. watersile decals... THANK YOU ARCADIA!! OH YEAH!
  4. Someone ask Mr K about that picture and he said it was an old Yamato Roy of his own that he was swooshing around and at the moment he wasn't aware of a reissue or something; well, that's what I interpreted from google translate.
  5. ummm...I'll wait confirmation from Arcadia before I comment.
  6. No...just not....what the hell does "Metal Siren" means anyways?
  7. We still don't know if the Macross line of PT toys was the cause of Yamato's demise. I expect the YF-19 to be priced similar to the VF-4G and VF-17D w/Super Packs for around 300-350. It's coming with FP, a lot of missile accessories, improve transformation ala VF-19 series and to add more, additional anime accurate gimmicks. They are just not slapping parts from the VF-19 and slightly modifying YF-19 parts to fit, they are doing this the right way and I'm happy about it. I sometime seriously think they read this forums because almost every thing we start discussing they then have a good answer for. The only doubt left is if they'll improve the ball joint ankle.
  8. Arcadia already working on City 7 here's a teaser of the prototype
  9. To add to modern fighters speed, the F-22, it's also about better efficiency. In the 80, supersonic speed was only possible for a few minutes before severely compromising fuel and range, modern fighters like the F-22 can achieve supersonic cruise, giving better fuel efficiency at high speeds and range. I'm not sure if the EF-2000, F-35, Rafale are capable if this, I think they are. The F-14A had a lot of troubles from the beginning, most infamously the engine compressor stall on high maneuverability that I think was finally fixed on F-14D Supertomcat. The tomcat was originally designed for long range interception of Russian bombers with the AIM-54 Phoenix missile, each one of those puppies went for 1 million dollars and the tomcat could carry 6 of them. Although the Phoenix was never successfully used in combat, I think it was used once and missed (not sure). The AIM-7 sparrow was the medium range missile but a constant lock was needed, with the later AIM-120 AMRAAM that is fire and forget and longer range (than the sparrow), made the use of the Phoenix even less necessary. With the Cold War ending the F-14 initial ability was not needed anymore, which is why later iteration, as in F-14B, were fitted for air to ground and reconnaissance despite the F-14 being primarily an interceptor. Like it was mentioned before, the Tomcat was old and too expensive to continue using, the Tomcat was replaced by the F/A-18D Superhornet which is awesome! I like the F-22 design, the ATF, program was great to follow. Now, the F-35, that thing can't be any uglier or bland looking. On topic: I want YF-19 assembly kits!!
  10. Fighter and Gerwalk look better than the ugly YF-29, funny, only after I saw the Isamu custom YF-29 is that I realize how the VF-27/29 are somwhat similar to the YF-19. This just confirms how close they match. nice find, thanks for sharing.
  11. i respect your opinion sketchley, yes, hardcore modellers are offended by it because there are many many options that are aesthetically better, but I say, if I were a Gunpla builder that has waited an eternity for a nice Macross gunpla, seeing all the great options out there, I'd be offended because everyone agrees, the kit is faulty in many many areas. I say they rushed it because from the comments I read of bad fitting and no locking mechanism, it sounds incomplete, I say Bandai shoved it down everyone throat, knowing how the kit is and the initial backlash of disproportion they started advertising it so heavily showing deceptive CGI with better proportion, forgiving photo angles and continuing with the Fokker announcement that doesn't suggest any improvement at all. If some people like the kit, good for them, but I say Bandai can do much better, they went above and beyond to make an anime accurate leg transformation and then screw the rest all up, they can do better and it's offensive to have to buy a "beta" kit until Bandai decides to release a better version and buy it again. It took them months and months of development, well, then someone in Bandai is not doing their job right. With due respect to Kawamori approval, he could have aproved the CGI, or the transformation mechanism and a BS excuse of Bandai of why the disproportion, as long as he gets payed and the Bandai exec selling it is a very good seller Kawamori will agree and from what I've heard, Kawamoris input is very expensive and his input and approval could have been in the initial stages only and not the final one unless I'm mistaken.
  12. The trash can. Kidding, this kit was obviously cater for a certain group of people, I am not a Gunpla builder, but I think if I were, I would be offended by this crappy reiteration of the VF-1 considering what is possible to do now and previous Gunpla that I've seen are awesome. Everything was wrong from the beginning, Bandai rushed this and forced it down everyone's throat. We all know Bandai can do something much much better, they had a great opportunity but decided to half ass this thing. I hope the sales of this are as crappy as the kit!
  13. we'll finally be able to set up this shot: :D :D
  14. LOL!! your build sounds great!
  15. F*CK YEAH ARCADIA!!! that's how its done!!
  16. thank you! Still don't like any of the frontier designs so I'll pass on this. My curiosity has been picked about macross universe story advancement, guess I'll have to get the game and play it.
  17. Someone should shapeway a VF-2SS!
  18. I don't like it. Hope everyone who likes it can get it despite being a webshop exclusive. Good luck, Bandai piggybacking Arcadia's thunder! Is this design canon? as in, was it in the Macross 30th game and flown by Isamu?
  19. the stuff in here always inspires me. My next project, looks like a fun little kit. Love the boxart.
  20. Wow, really wish i could get one and have space for it! massive scale! There's the overpriced Yammie 1/60!
  21. I think it's the flightpose team that should issue the warning. This collectibles were not designed to be posed on those stands, like Yammies, some have their own stand that prevent this from happening.
