  1. RM++ Project: Character: M Citizen 03B: The People In The Macross: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#SDFM - the RM's are a bit light, but underlining the humans-with-giants living together post war is decidedly Macross. Worldguide 26A: Idols: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php - some interesting stuff. Especially on the idols that got bumped to the sides with the appearance of the "super idols" in Macross. The RM on the abilities of Sara Nome is eye opening. Complete: Mechanic: M Zentraadi 09B: Zentraadi Pods: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM - some changes between the two editions. Though, the translated needed (and got!) a major overhaul.
  2. RM++ Project: Character: F SMS 01B: Saotome Aruto: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#MF - one of the RM's is a godsend - it clarifies not only the root cause of Aruto's actions, but also highlights at least one of the reasons why he ended up with who he ends up with. Complete: Mechanic: 7 UN 10B: Macross 7 Fleet Aircraft: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#M7 - no major changes in the translation, but isn't it interesting that the editors decided to move the sheet has been moved from the UN section to the Civilian section?
  3. Complete! Gallery Zero: Macross Zero #57: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRgallery/MCRgallery.php#M0 - interesting. Another picture not in the original. Glossary 17A: Nuujaderu Gaa - Vajra: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRglossary/MCRglossary.php - revised, edited and retranslated some parts that were... yucky. Should I mention that some parts were changed between the two editions?
  4. RM++ Project: Episode: M25A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 25 "Virgin Road": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - some very interesting points are raised, not to mention the marital status of the three bridge bunnies as of 2045. Episode: 7 37A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 37 "The Riddle Of The Space Ruins?": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - one question remains: is it that easy to decipher the writing of the Protoculture? Or does that "vast insight" imply that one has a background in the Zentraadi language and Over Technology in general?
  5. RM++ Project: Glossary Sheets: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRglossary/MCRglossary.php Glossary 15A: Tachiwani Shouhei - Unification War - hard to find any one item to highlight in particular. Wish I had the time to do the characters, too. Glossary 16A: Touma Shun - Carrots Love You Yeah! - one thing I like about these sheets is that it gives the non-animated series equal space to shine. I'm especially digging the stuff on my favourite Macross game: VF-X2! (I'm sure some would say the same, but for the MII related content. )
  6. The VF-4 is based off of the SR-71. Didn't you guys read my translation of an article about this? http://nomansland.site.nfoservers.com/MRG-Active-Archive/forums/index.php?topic=2385.msg35718#msg35718 From Pg 092.
  7. RM++ Project: Timeline 43A: The Night Before The Decisive Battle (7): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - a bit more on what Emilia Jiinasu was doing (which may or may not have been conveyed in the fan subs), and (if memory serves) the sole mention of the battle with the Kurore Fleet in the timeline pages.
  8. RM++ Project: History M 10A: The Omni-Directional Barrier Runaway: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - personifying inanimate objects in Japanese is quite unusual... I wonder why they decided to do that with the VF-1S?
  9. I agree that the first one was awesome sauce (haven't gotten around to watching the second), but one thing I didn't like about it is that the writers killed off some of the major supporting characters that play important roles in the 3rd and 4th manga volumes. Hopefully this reboot will not only refrain from killing off those characters, but also develop their characters!
  10. I think there might have been a chance of that when he was still a manga artist... ... which he stopped being around the time he finished GiTS 2 .
  11. Shorthand for 'Related Matter'. When I headline my posts with "RM++ Project", I'm using it in the sense of 'the Related Matter +headlines +other things that grab my attention translation project' (with a nod to the VF-1X Double Plus from MtR ). And so far, aside from the Goods sheets, I've been managing to keep on top of them as they appear. Alas, I'm slipping further and further behind on the Glossary sheets...
  12. Just tried it, and yes, same text over text as in the OP post. Using Firefox 17 on J Vista. Also, and this may or may not be related When following the link to the main page article in this post: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=39176&p=1101123 , I get: .
  13. The book on the VF-1 makes a lot more sense. As much as I would prefer a book on the VF-22, it just isn't mainstream enough. After all, the Macross version of 'sex sell' is 'VF-1 sells'...
  14. Complete: Gallery Sheet: TF: Theatrical Macross F #56: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRgallery/MCRgallery.php#TMF
  15. RM++ Project: Episode: 7 36A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 36 "The Heated Songs Of Men": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - some interesting behind the scenes stuff, and highlighting of the story structure. Episode: F17A & B: Macross F Eps. 17 "Goodbye Sister": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#MF - one of the RM's highlights just how far the homages in MF go (though, with the example they give I'm tempted to say "inspired by" rather than an outright "homage"). Nevertheless, more interesting behind the scenes stuff. Especially Kawamori's later opinion!
  16. The one on the first movie raises some very good points. Though, it lost me when it started to talk about the internet. The internet, at least in the form that it exists now with the capabilities we generally associate with it, didn't exist when the movie was released. No way to future proof a movie, eh? On the flip side, that part of Reese's exposition (all records were lost) could be construed as a flaw: do we, the audience, assume that Reese knows everything about that, including what records Skynet holds? Is it only his opinion? The movie doesn't dwell on it or let the audience mull it over - so in that regards (the writers assuming that the audience takes his dialogue as fact), it's a flaw. Nevermind the internet part.
  17. Complete! Mechanic: Other 10A: Vanquish Race Related Aircraft: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#Other - I have the sinking feeling that this will be the only page that we get on MtR. That said, it provides a decent synopsis of the races, racers and VFs, as well as the story itself.
  18. RM++ Project: Timeline 42A: The Collapse Of Rax (7): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - for some reason, the Protoculture messenger bakes my noodle every time it pops up. There's just something tragically odd about it. Mechanic: Other 02A: VF-3000 Crusader: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#Other - the stuff on the VF-3000B Bomber Valkyrie seemed awfully familiar. Turns out its exactly the same as in the original "Advanced Valkyrie" article (courtesy Macross Compendium) and the description in "Shouji Kawamori's Macross Design Works"...
  19. RM++ Project: History M 05A: The Battle Of Mars Sara Base: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - some interesting stuff - especially on Gamlin's brow!
  20. RM++ Project: Worldguide 19C: Macross Frontier Fleet: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php - all you wanted to know about the Macross self-propelled vending machines and personal electronics. Technology 16B: Spacesuits: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php - some interesting stuff on the dedicated helmet for YF-21/22.
  21. RM++ Project: Mechanic: F Etc 02A: Macross Galaxy: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#MF Character: II UN 01B: Sylvie Geena: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#MII - not a fan of MII, but I'm finding the idea of using idols and VF pilots for propaganda is intriguing. Dare I say that not taking them apart is sacrilege?
  22. That would be the mini-shuttle.
  23. For those of us who haven't seen the movie and have only seen advertising materials for the movie, it's a big revelation.
  24. RM++ Project: Episode: TF00A: Theatrical Macross F Production Data: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#TMF - just a basic summary Episode: FB700A: Macross FB7 Listen To My Song! Production Data: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#FB7 - again, a basic summary. Though, most interesting is the confirmation of who the "Ominous Bird" is.
  25. RM++ Project: Episode: 7 35A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 35 "The Night Of Only The Couple": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - some interesting points raised about relationships: Mylene with Gamlin and the song "But Baby!!" with the series.
