I was actually surprised at the amount of revision on the front (aside from the part about the latest games). Nevertheless, a good rundown of the games, though the sheet is rather sparse in detail when it comes to the games from the 80's and earlier 90's.

It definitely makes one reevaluate the actions/tactics that one saw on screen.

    A bunch of the stereotypes that Mechapilot77 are highlighting are not limited to this movie, and are endemic to all Hollywood films. For example, the depiction of Asians in "Pirates Of The Caribbean 3" was so terrible, that the film was (initially?) banned in China. So, Mechapilot77, from the ensuing discussion, I hope you can appreciate that the problem isn't so much the film that ended up being made, but the executives who green-lighted the script, and approved the cut for release. [This is more apparent if one remembers that this is the same director who did "Pan's Labyrinth"]

Surprisingly, despite a single sheet being transformed into a fold-out sheet, there is hardly any new content!

    The Japanese people aren't that small minded, you know. Have you seen "Rising Sun"? That movie had a lot of anti-Japanese sentiment, and (if memory serves), Japanese viewers didn't react negatively to it. If an overtly anti-Japanese movie doesn't provoke a response, how could a brainless action movie do it? That said, I'm curious what makes Bariaburu Faita think that it is offensive (I haven't seen the movie).

    Mine was "All" in front of the UN Spacy kite symbol. I'm just wondering why they waited so long to do it. #31 had a fix sticker for a page in the 20's. #51 has the sticker for the VF-14 from the 10's...

Namely the intended meaning of the "Jamming Birds" name (damn wasei eigo!). The first battles of the Macross songstresses is also a good read. There were quite a few in the accompanying issue (obviously rushed out half a week before the usual publication date). On the other hand, it crops up thrice... The printed paper publication is also another good point. Is Macross's devolution from the Star Trek Next Generation -esque PADD in M7 to the easily recognizable print periodical to make the series more viewer accessible? Or is it a deliberate point being made about traditional forms of media? (or am I thinking too much about it?)

    I don't think we should think too much about the realism of the cockpit mock-up. I feel like it was optimized for pre-teens - just big enough for adults to squish in, and small enough for kids to be able to look over the dashboard be photographed sitting in the hot seat. What I remember most about it was the edges of the headrest pushing into my shoulders. Definitely not an adult sized seat (nevermind the legs).
