It is a ballistic parachute mounted on a tri-pod on the aft part of the shield. Guess it is only for first fighter mode flights since spins could be recovered in Gerwalk or Battroid mode after the flight characteristics have been verified in those regime. Edit: Can fly, not spell!

That will require a very durable paint scheme to cover the plastic tan with white. I wish I had the money to order two and the time to do it. Have a feeling one will pop up just after the New Year.

Wow! Super jealous of the trip… Macross reports from the field are always great. Moving sucks.. doing the same… my 19 was out long enough for a quick look in fighter mode and then packed away. Thankfully there are no QC issues that require attention. Looking forward to the pictures and the anime chicks.

My VF-0A had the broken fin spike problem. HLJ just asked for digital photos and sent new fins via EMS. My VF-0S has the same problem from TMP Anime and Tam gave me a discount since he could not get new fins. The only place that I have had a problem was TIS99 on Ebay. UPS crushed my LV2 VF-1A and it was a big fight with Ebay, Paypal, and TIS99 but I got my money back. Then there is Toy's and Joy??!! It may be luck but I have great service from HLJ.

The White Skull and "VF-0" are tampo printed on the VF-0S heat shield and there is also the same on the sticker sheet.

Arkham thanks for the news picks that comfirms what was suspected from Valk1J's photo two pages back. While the camo Ghost may be more accurate than the Shin "Fast Packed" Ghost I still do think it will not increase in popularity. But, I do see one being purchased and the sensor pod on top recast and sold on the side if the Shin Ghost comes with out. Since it takes photo captures to verify colors, what does Roy's Ghost look like? I always assumed it was the same as Shin's and never thought the camo was real. That what I get for assumptions but then I have always been an --- Edit: When looking at the larger pictures of the ghost how many times do you click on the wrong X?

It is not just a function of anime correct but of market forces at work. The artwork on the Hasegawa boxes is an amazing guide of what things should look like. That and the great paint guide contained in the instructions. If this information was incorrect all the modelers would be in arms just like the toy collectors. Plus they would not buy the models that were unpopular or inaccurate. Yamato might paint itself into a corner if the customer is unhappy with flawed inaccurate products. America is not a direct market and Macross is a small share but a company should not disregard what the public has to say... unless they want to end up like toynami, new coke, pepsi clear,..etc

Congrats on Bela. Yes, the list below is what is completely required for the redesign. My broad leap of logic highlighted the two parts that Yamato could not copy from the Captain's kit since the glue verse screw manufacturing would transfer to mass production well. I did not use the kit trapezoid but modified the origional Yamato so I would not need to match the tan. So the antenna configuation is different and I do not have the Strike part hold down. I hope that your 1D with heatshield is finished since it was your production photos that helped with mine.
