  1. Er if you mean did I do it properly, then yes I usually put a coat of gloss (Testor's Glosscoat) then apply the decals using a setting solution so they conform to model's surface better, let them dry for at least 24hrs than apply either a gloss or matt (Testor's Dulcote) coat over the the entire model as required. You can eliminate the gloss coat part by painting the model in gloss paint to begin with then applying a matt finish if required after completion. I always apply a finishing coat as I weather my models using pastels and they will rub off or smudge if not protected.
  2. No problem it's supposed to be like that. Why does it have to be "brilliant white" when you'll be painting it anyway
  3. I've got 20+ year old models with still perfect decals. Guess I haven't waited long enough Decals are thinner and conform to the surface better giving a painted on look if done properly. They require a lot more effort that stickers but are worth it if you don't want the toy with stickers look.
  4. I have the current 07 Hasegawa catalogue and it has a seperate Macross insert. There are no new models listed on the insert.
  5. My kit didn't come with decals.
  6. That's pretty much a colour version of the instructions that come with the figure.
  7. Just got my copy today. Certainly covered Mospeada quite well but if you sneeze you'll miss the Southern Cross parts .
  8. Be adventurous It's not rocket science. I transformed mine in around 5 minutes. The only confusing part for me was how to unlock the hips but with a bit of brute force and ignorance all was well. Must admit it's a bit disappointing So small. It marvellous what good photography can make something look like
  9. I live in Australia and I've got a copy coming and I reckon I'm bit further away from their location than you are
  10. Just received an email from HLJ saying that they have cancelled my back order for the Max colour as they cannot get any and have been told by Yamato that they will not be making anymore any time soon.
  11. You'll have to lock the display cabinet to make sure it doesn't start hanging out in public toilets
  12. True some areas of the ship were "giant sized" but why would you design your premium front line state of the art fighter based on the size of a couple of doors in an alien ship that you had no idea where it came from on the off chance that the doors were for beings and not some sort of vehicle? In answer to the original question, it was probably done so fluff freaks on sites like this could speculate the topic to death
  13. How did UN Spacy design the Valk to fight an enemy they didn't know existed until they come knocking on the front door in the first episode
  14. I'll definately be interested in one of each
  15. Very nice. Thanks for the effort
  16. The heads are definately different.
  17. Hmmm, Fish on a Stick, Camp Stove, can we expect Hikaru's other "accessory" Misa
  18. You're joking, right
  19. Nothing like keeping it in the family
  20. Just curious to know what attracts you to Macross if you don't like love triangles and music Macross is love triangles and music
  21. Either way I'm sure you'll make it look good, but for my 2 bobs worth the original is the way to go. You were inspired by the original so why not stick to those colours.
  22. What about Project A-Ko
  23. I'd be up for a SDF-1 but would prefer the TV version.
