  1. I think HLJ has the HIkaru vf-1s listed as a future release. So maybe sometime after christmas. Don't quote me though.
  2. Is the trailer online yet? Nevermind Just saw it. Ton of other mutant characters. Sabes looks disappointing though. He should look more feral.
  3. I've been reading Final Crisis and several of its tie ins. Also Green Lantern, JSA, JL and Green Lantern Corps. I gave up on Marvels Skrull invasion after book 5.
  4. The US dollar is one big sh@$ sandwich and were all gonna have to take bite if we want our Japanese toys. But the good thing(law of unintentional consequences) about it, is that it has forced me to really asses what toys/models I really think are worth my hard earned cash.
  5. The nose/ fuselage are plenty long enough to accomodate longer landing gear. Look at the sv-51 for an example. If it wasn't they could've made the landing gears collapseable as an alternative. Thanks for the pic Dave. That illustrates what is probably 70 % of what is wrong with the Bandai version IMO. The bandai shoulders make the toy look like movie starscream, which is not good. I'm not saying transformable toys shouldn't be durable. They should. What I am saying is that with increased complexity you are going to have toys that aren't as rugged as a toy aimed at young Western children. I think alot of us forget this fact.
  6. I LOVE how some of us assume that this toy will be durable as a 1/55. It hasn't been released yet. Lets wait till it has before we proclaim its superior durablilty. The SPEC eva 01 is a prime example that even Bandai can F#@^ up from time to time. Mine didn't have the hip problems that others encountered, so I didn't throw Bandai under the Bus at the time. The hip area on the vf-25 doesn't explain the lack of a neck on the OZUMA version, nor the truncated landing gear, or the overly wide shoulders and arms. The visual aesthetic is most important to me with collectible toys. Durability is for 13 yr old children. I don't collect my toys to play with them every night. Most of My valks stay in either battroid or fighter mode for months or yrs on end. If I want durability I'll start playing with legos. Complex transforming collectible toys aimed at adults are not going to be a durable as a $13 transfomer on sale at Wal Mart.
  7. Probably not. Bandai had all the time in the world to get this thing right and you see what they decided to put out. I bet future iterations of the vf-25 will have minor fixes or improvements over the initial release toys that are coming out later this month.
  8. The vf-1J has a white instrument panel.
  9. The last 2 days I,ve seen or bought a ton of Joes. I bought: Airborne Cobra Flint Cobra Eel Zartan Pilot Scarlett Cobra Trooper (Resolute) I passed on Cobra Commander(Resolute) Dreadnok Torch Duke (Resolute) Firefly Cobra Officer (Python) Matt Trakker M.A.S.K. Several vehicle sets
  10. My OG 1/60 Hikaru vf-1a has undergone the same thing. Thats why I have real concerns about Bandai's upcoming alto vf-25s. I hope it is painted a lite grey. My 1/48 angel birds seem to be okay though, but the might need a few more yrs to start to yellow.
  11. Awesome collections fellas. Thanks for sharing. Do most of you hold onto the boxes that your toys come packaged in?
  12. I currently own well over 60 yamato toys and these are the few issues Iv'e had over the years: I still own every macross toy that they have put out with the exception of the original 1/72 yf-19 and Max Quadelaun Rau. 1) paint scrapping on the 1/72 game edition Y-19 2) yellowing on the v1. 1/60 Hikaru vf-1a 3) stress marks on the legs of the 1/72 vf-11 non fast pack edition 4) cracked shoulder on the 1/60 vf-0s Fokker (replaced the arms--now its all tight) 5) Looseness on various v1 1/60 dyrl valks (landing gear, legs, etc) 6) Missing sticker sheet in the Max v1 1/60 vf-1A Iv'e yet to have anything flat out break on me that was a manufactures defect. I've broken several pieces, BP-8 notably, because I've dropped them or was carless. So I think they have done a very good job with most of the toys they've made. I think there is still room for improvement, but I believe they have gotten appreciably better over the years. I even own several Yamato non Macross Models and toys and they are in pristine condition.
  13. Good Purchase. There are several transformation vid's floating around for the yf-19 that I highly recommend. They all can be found on youtube. Watch them and you should have no problems with the 19. The two video's that Graham did are the best IMO. Now you gotta get the yf-21 to go with your 19. BTW Bleach is a cool anime, I'm currently playing Heat the Soul 4 on my PSP. It occupies all of my video game time until I get Macross Ace Frontier.
  14. I live in an apt.with my brother and have a massive toy collection as well as comics and dvds. I'm somewhat of a hoarder and keep all of my toy boxes. I simply bought a storage unit and keep 90% of my toy boxes, as well as toys that aren't displayed in there. I plan to go through it and either sell older toys I no longer want(1/55's) or trash the boxes of toys I don't care too much for( 1/72 mac plus toys, ver 1 1/60 yamato's). Unfortunately, its the newer Yamato 1/60's and 1/48 boxes I plan to keep which take up the most space. I'm considering getting a house once my lease expires, so I have some time to weigh what I plan on keeping and what I no longer want. You could keep the boxes, flatten them, and leave the toys in the plastic trays. You could also buy large storage bins ( I have several of these) and store your toys in those. The bins would be perfect if you plan on ditching the boxes. If you aren't too strapped for cash I'd suggest purchasing a small storage unit and storing alot of your things there. That way, you wouldn't be too pressured to part with anything, and you would have time to go through what you want and what you plan on getting rid of. I hope this helps. I love these type of questions, because it is one we collectors all have to face at some point.
  15. They're preparing my order. I may have to order Ikki Tousen for my psp as well. Is there any macross themed music during gameplay?
  16. I recieved mine today as well, awesome toy so far. You get a full sheet of stickers with this destroid which will allow you to personalize it in many different ways. The instruction manual is very brief, but it does detail the sticker markings. The knees are very tight. I can't wait for the other destroids that will be released. The price tag is a little high for these toys, but the details on the Tomahawk are great.
  17. If the hips weren't attached to the crotch in the wrong place, then the battroid would have a leaner, taller look. The more comparison pics I see, the more upset I get at how Bandai did such a lackluster job with this toy.
  18. Thanks for posting the comparison pics. I seriously doubt that they will fix the landing gears. It seems that they have fixed nothing else on this toy, so to expect them to fix the landing gears is somewhat unrealistic expectations. The crotch and the legs in fighter mode may be the killer for me. They are so obviously off it isn't funny.
  19. Hopefully they improved the landing gears as well. If they did, I'll keep my preorder.
  20. At this late stage in the game, the only fixes I see Bandai implementing will be the removal of the seams and gaps. All of the other complaints that we have (which are many) would probably require new sculpting at this point which ain't gonna happen with a 2 month release looming. I'm still 50/50 about canceling my preorder. Each successive release of photo's keeps driving home the fact that Bandai has alot to learn about transforming toys. I've yet to see them fix any of the major grips that I've had with the initial pics of the vf-25 prototypes. Which is a shame because I truely love the vf-25's design.
  21. I was able to finally score the Bats. I found 1 at the same wal mart in consecutive days, so I bought them both. I hope to score Flash soon. No sightings on the new vehicles yet.
  22. I'm a fighter mode 1st person as well, but if the battroid looks this off then one has to reason the fighter will also be affected as well. My biggest gripes have been the same complaints that I've had since first seeing photos of the 1/60 version. The shoulder area needs alot of work, and the hip/crotch area looks completely wrong. The crotch sits way too low and, the hips are too high. The shoulders are spaced too far away from the body and the arms seem a little long. The more pics I see of this toy, the more convinced I've become that Bandai wont rectify these issues with the production version.
  23. I don't think the revoltech Haruhi will be any better than the Figma one.
  24. The last few weeks I've bought a ton of Joes. 1)Wave 5 comic packs--(No black headed Destro) 2)Both dvd packs 3)Wave 9-- Hawk, BBQ, Bazooka, Snow serpent 4) vehicles-Vamp, Trouble bubble set I've yet to see the Bats in the stores.
  25. I preordered this figure as well. Kanu is my favorite character from Ikki Tousen. This will be my sixth Kanu figure. I hope Figma makes other figures from the series. I'd love to see Ryofu, Shimei, and Choun Shiryu. I highly recommend the Figma line to those who are unaware of it. They're better figures than the revoltech's.
