Cool. One of the guys I bought spare parts from about a year ago, is converting his 1970 mustang coupe into a competition car. Sounds like a fun experience. -

The Man With the Iron Fists

Damn, I forgot about that episode of the boondocks!! The guillotine from that episode is very similar to the one in the one armed swordsman. The veil would come down over your head before your decapitated. LOL. Yeah I love the boondocks. -

Awesome Pics MYK, thanks for sharing. I need to upload a few pics of my ponies. I'm getting the interior put back together on one, and I recently had some front suspension work done on the other 70. -

You should see True Legend. It has an updated take on venom clans five deadly venoms style. It also tells the origin of druken kung Fu. I hope you are right about the flying guillotine. I've been dying to see a more recent interpretation on it. It was such a badass technique I can't believe no one has used it any of the more recent kung fu films. Two of my favorite guillotine films are Fatal flying guilllotine and the one armed swordsman. There is another one with Chen Kuan tai but the name of the film eludes me at the moment. I also hope we get some cameo's from a few old school legends. RZA's character is partially a homage to GoldenArms from The Kid with the Golden Arm and the evil character from the crippled avengers. I wonder if Russel Crow's character is a homage to Philip Kwoks character in the kid with the Golden Arm. -

I think the captain, would've known if she were an android. But, it's interesting because he did make a point about it. -

Yeah that Yeah, Charlize looked pretty hot in that suite. The best shot was seeing her from behind having a talk with dad. I think what I really didn't like about the film was the inconsistencies with the black goo. In one scene, It was shown to accelerate evolution, and in another destroy life (death and rebirth). The opening prologue scene was unecessary. We know from trailers that the humans are looking for their creators. I also didn't like that there wasn't a real explanation of what killed the inhabitants of the base. It's hinted, and I know that it's irrelevant(were supposed to be left in the dark), but I still would've liked an answer. The big theme I really enjoyed was how dangerous(and often disasterous exploration usually is). There is always a price to be paid for advancement, knowledge etc. Also loved David's line of big things and beginnings. Considering his actions that moment, we are witnessing the birth of the francise. -

Don"t waste your time seeing this film. It was a steaming pile. I think after some time has passed, most people that liked it will come to the conclusion that it was a bad film. Beautifully shot, but terrible. The story makes little sense, and the plot holes are too glaring to ignore. RS should leave the SF alone. He has clearly lost his touch. -

RIP Carroll. You'll be missed. As a soon to be owner of 3 mustangs, No other icon has meant more to the american automotive scene in the past 50 years. I was just reading an article in Mustang Monthly where he finally built his 1000 HP Shelby. -
Yes Mog, That is who you think it is. Which makes for a kickass sequel. My initial fear of a Avengers/justice league movie is that you need a villian or threat that exceeds the capabilities of the combined protagonist. We'll definately have that in the sequel. Omega, the movie that you want is the Watchmen. It has all of the angst that you seem to want. The Darknight also had a very dark tone and ending. One could argue that the Joker did win. Skyline isn't a superhero film, but the ending is very bleak. I think some of your criticsms of the movie are unfounded. They did provide an explanation of why the Hulk seemingly went with the group. It's the same reason that's in the comics which you no longer read. The Hulk saw an even greater threat to himself and Banner and acted in his own interest. Which makes it even cooler. Tony Stark for two films was a self centered, egotistical womanizer. Very flawed. I think he embodied some of the moral trappings you wish of your heroes.

Just got back from seeing the film and it was awesome. If you haven't seen it yet, hang around after the end credits.

The comic industry was nearly ruined in the 90's due to the speculation from wall street. Many people got into the hobby for a short period because they thought they could earn a quick buck. The publishers responded in kind by overproducing titles. The 90's also brought us all of the bad gimmicks. Poly bagged, foil embossed covers, with Holograms. Not to mention the overuse of the mult ititle crossovers. The regular titles merely became the launching pad for the next meaningless crossover. I started collecting comics in the late 80's and still do to this day. If you ask any hardcore collectors their opinions on the industry during the 90's, they'll echo similar sentiments. Looking back most of the Image titles that some of you regularly cite were complete garbage. The Artist that formed the company had no real chops for storytelling or development. Most of it creators are back working for the big 2. I applauded their efforts for more creator control, but they weren't the right cast to champion it. They let way too many people tell them how great and deserving they were. I think the art today is the best that it's been in a long time. There seeems to be more great artist, and not so many of them are trying the replicate the Image style. There is more diversity in style and storytelling from the various pencilers.

I disagree about Lee and Silvestri. Lee is still at the top of his game, while SIlvestri is sketchy at best. Silvestri can't keep up with the demands of a monthly title. Take a look at his current work on the incredible Hulk. Every issue he as pencilled in the series has progressively gotten worse. Liefeld probably knows how to play the corporate game, so that keeps him employed. The 90's were the dark times for american comics, but I think DC is currently putting out some of their best work in years.

Yeah I agree. I recently purchased a Mac 7 boxset and started watching it. I've been suprised by how much I like the series.

Awesome looking toy. I bet there will be a CF version. It wouldn't make any sense to have spent all of the production cost to make one version of a limited toy.

Very good read. I too have been thinking that the crew ends up getting mutated into the Aliens.
