Absolutely fabulous job there Jason. I wish I had the way-too-expensive software to try doing stuff like this. You are correct on both points, Carl. The rear landing gear is a three door arrangement. Going fore to aft, the doors open forward, inboard, and outboard. The verniers (the little round thing with the diagonal slash through it) are all the same size across the plane. The FAST packs, which aren't pictured on this model, have different sized verniers. Also, two other nitpicks: The forward nose gear door should have a landing light, as should the forward doors of the rear landing gear. The forward nose gear door light is round and white/clear. The rear landing gear forward doors are trapezoidal with rounded points and are colored red (port) and blue (starboard). Why blue since real aircraft are green, I don't know. Everything I've ever seen, which isn't much, is blue though. The other is depending on whether or not this is the DYRL? version. IIRC, the DYRL? cockpit according to the line art shows no "gak" on the armrests other than the throttle control (port) and the stick (starboard). They are featureless armrests in some green material (leather/vinyl/naugahyde?). Also from my less-than-perfect memory, the DYRL? cockpit doesn't have the HUD above the instrument panel. I'm leaning toward this being a render of the DYRL because there is not a center stick arrangement, but perhaps you just haven't put one in yet (the view of the cockpit being from the starboard side, thus obscuring the view of the starboard armrest). If I am wrong on any of this, anyone please feel free to correct me.

Good grief. What is the deal here? As Hurin pointed out, rape has more than one meaning. If it makes you all feel better, Lucas "violated my childhood memories." There, are we all happy? This is why I hate Star Wars. Plastic-lightsaber-wielding, Yoda-quoting, Jedi-wannabes who can't get up off the floor from bowing at the altar of Lucas long enough to see that what they are worshipping is so much celluloid poo. They've become worse than the forty-five-year-old, living-in-the-basement-of-his-parent's-house, speaking-fluent-Klingon, dressing-up-as-Captain-Kirk-on-the-weekends Trekkies. Calling people morons because they don't agree with you is pretty lame. If this is what this place has come to then I don't want to be here.

So let me see if I have this straight. Lucas makes episodes I and II suck so badly that Howard the Duck would look like Oscar material next to them. Then he makes episode III, and since the fans are drooling for something even halfway decent to come out, they go ooh and ahh over the over-CG'ed battle sequences, bad scripting, and wooden acting, just because this one is a teensy-wessy bit better than Howard the Duck. Then he collects the big bucks off the theatrical release, before monkeying with the entire series again for the DVD ultimate box set of sixteen discs including the six movies, the makings of the six movies, a special on the cultural significance of Star Wars, a special release of THX-1138, the Ewoks TV movies, and a collectable Darth Vader statue all for $200. I'll just pass on this one. Lucas raped my childhood enough that I'm not going to go running asking, "Please sir, may I have some more?" just because it's the end of the series.

I haven't watched Enterprise since the first season. It's a shame that the writing for this series was so lame, because there was potential. I personally think Trek is not coming back ever, but who knows. Maybe Majel Barrett Roddenberry and her son Rod will take over the franchise in a couple of years and bring it back in the truest vision of the Great Bird of the Galaxy.

Theres already a 1/48 VF-1. Pretty damn good too might I add... There's not a Hasegawa 1/48 VF-1 super/strike with combined weapons,photoetch parts and pilot with optional VF-1D/VT-1 and VE-1 parts. Now that's what I'd vote for.

Actually, it is right side up for Fighter and upside down for Battroid.

It's around $80 US give or take $10. As for me, I will not be getting the GBP armor with or without a Valkyrie. I have one VF-1S Roy, which if I get the armor for it will probably get all scratched up from the armor. And considering that I have seriously re-evaluated my priorities in life, getting a combo GBP - Valkyrie set at around $210 (figuring $130 for the Valkyrie and $80 for the GBP) is just not one of them.

I was digging around through some old floppies and found these pictures that I drew based off a line art drawing I found the the Protoculture Addicts issue on Macross 7 (which had just come out, they are that old.) Anyways here they are. By the way I had converted them to jpeg format so they are a little wierd.

Star Trek has been going down the path to Sucksville ever since Roddenberry died. It's just that with Enterprise, they came to the clearing at the end of the path. I blame Berman for driving the bus and Paramount for providing the gas. But all the Trekkies have been willing passengers. This is coming from a reformed Trekkie.

My discs 1, 3, and 9 are showing cracks at the center and I had the Three Disc sets. And I've watched them once.

Now if we can just get a good Dubbed version based off this, my wife and kids will want to watch it.

Hey Noel or anyone else who is going, ask Yamato if the 1/48's are going to get a fresh re-release with the upcoming GPS armor. I'd hate for this to be it. What will Kensei and Godzilla spend their money on?
