Maybe I'll convince the wife to let me buy my second 1/48 Yamato VF-1. Hopefully I can find the one I want on eBay (VF-1S Hikaru).

I love Hasegawa macross kits. Too bad my modeling skills just about suck. I'm fine until I do one of two things: airbrush or decal. Just once I'd like to build a WCG (wm cheng grade) kit. It's the step beyond perfect grade.

AH... Don't worry about it. I'm big in Europe. Like David Hasselhoff? Agent One (25 600 000) Versus David Hasslehoff (15 800) So yes only much bigger

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
phoenix01 replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The Chronicles of Narnia is an overt allegory of the Bible. C.S. Lewis was a Christian apologist also famous for such books as Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. Aslan is the name of Christ in Narnia and the second book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a retelling of the gospel message as a children's adventure. Of course, since Disney is involved with this project and Disney has been patently anti-Christian since Michael Eisner took over the company, you can rest assured that the religious overtones will be utterly annihilated. Edit: And yes there are seven books in all, now being published in chronological order as follows: 1. The Magician's Nephew (originally book 6) 2. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (originally book 1) 3. The Horse and His Boy (originally book 5) 4. Prince Caspian (originally book 2) 5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (originally book 3) 6. The Silver Chair (originally book 4) 7. The Last Battle (originally book 7) -
I second that. Yamato, give us a second issue 1S Hikaru, pretty please!

I want one, but the wife would kill me if I spent a hundred dollars on yet another Macross model kit let alone $279. I guess I'm stuck with 1/72 Hasegawas.

You still have to be dependent free and you have to be under 25 to attand one of the academies. You only partially correct about ROTC (including both NROTC and AFROTC) some guys do get 4 and 2 year scholarships, alot of us don't (like me ) we pay our way through school and get a $100 stipend, I know alot of future officers that are delivering pizzas to make ends meet. Sorry, it's been a few years since I was in and I was only a poor working enlisted stiff.

Anyone know where I can find vinyl stickers (like those offered by VF-1x long ago)? I have the skull squadron shield type stickers on my car, but I am looking to get some more (my car won't last forever). I'd also like to get the UN Spacy lettering and logo as a vinyl sticker too.

Mustangs can make Admiral too, it's just a little harder than the Academy boys have it. Unless they have recently changed the rules (since I was in back nearly five years ago) you had to be dependent free to get into one of the academies (Naval Academy, West Point, Air Force, and Coast Guard). In the Navy, they had a program called Seaman to Admiral which was for those who didn't have a 4-year Bachelor's Degree. It originally was to allow you to put on butterbars right away, do a four year tour as an ensign, then go to four years of college. Now it's been combined with some other programs to create the STA-21 program which involves going to college with $10000 per year maximum for tuition only while being paid at your current enlisted paygrade with available promotions. After graduation you put on ensign with a four year tour. This differs from NROTC where you don't get paid more than $100 a month but you get a full ride (tuition, books, room and board) for two through four years depending on your scolarship length.

Hey, at least it isn't the Red Comet Pink Valkyrie special.

None of them. Not at those prices for 420 stainless crap. I'd rather sink my money into swords from this guy: Christian Fletcher He does custom work on Albion and Angus Trim swords.

The Starbird was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid. It was a starship that made cool sounds and could come apart and be reconfigured in different modes (such as a shuttle). The litttle gray things on the end of its wings are fighters. I really wish I still had it. It got played with quite a bit and eventually ended up getting thrown away after a few years of abuse from me. I still got mine, minus the interceptors and the little gun on the escape pod. I also have the Starbird Starbase.

Yang, she is wrong to ask this of you. You need to ask her what is more important to her: her image at work or you. Compromise if need be, but remember you are the leader in the family. If she has a problem dealing with that, perhaps couple's counseling is in order. Maybe a "disinterested" third party might make her see the light.

Yeah, everyone was at the Sharon Apple concert.

Sword takes on 50cal bmg rounds
phoenix01 replied to Shake n Bake's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
And as an added bonus, we'll send you these Ginzu II steak knifes. You can cut these .50 calibur rounds in half, then cut this tomato ...no problem. -
Hear us Yamato and Hasegawa. If you make them, we will buy.

Spleeen decline. I like the Japanese version of Voices better.

Motorola allow you to "write" your own ringtones. That's what I did. I'll see if I can borrow my wife's cell and copy it down later.
-
I programmed Runner into my wife's Motorola cellphone (since it use to be my cellphone before I gave it to her to use.) Since she doesn't lnow how to reprogram it, I get to hear Runner every time it rings.

Heh. Yes, racist, sexist and homophobic views, so deeply entrenched in today's frightened hate-filled society that they pop up in everyday conversation without any thought is just pointless semantics. Gypped out of any deals lately? "Gypped" was a term propigated by the fun-loving Nazi party, in reference to Gypsies, who nobody (except other Gypsies it seems) liked. Nobody cares about them now (moslty because they were all killed) and use the term "Gypped"widely without any thought whatsoever. The term used to be "Jewed" until people starting thinking that was wrong. Why not bring back "Jewed" and "Niggered" and "Chinked"? Semantics. As for the Scopedog, won't it have to have a tonne of modifications if it is to be any other version? I thought the Brutish Dog, my fave (cuz it's pink ) had different feet. Ideas? Actually, the term "gay" means "happy, bright, lively, cheerful, or light-heartedly excited." It is also the name of three towns (Gay, GA; Gay, MI; and Gay, WV) as well as a now rarely used girl's name. The homosexual community, in order to make themselves more "acceptable" to the mainstream majority, chose to refer to themselves as "gay" to erase the negative stereotype associated with their lifestyle choice. Prior to the 1970's, the use of the word "gay" had no connotation with the homosexual community. Considering that words only mean what we want them to mean, changing the word "gay" to mean "stupid" is no more offensive than changing it from "happy, bright, lively, cheerful, or light-heartedly excited" to mean "a (male) homosexual." Unless all the happy, bright, lively, cheerful, or light-heartedly excited people in the world are offended by the word "gay" now meaing "a (male) homosexual." The homosexual community does not have the exclusive use of the word. That must be some kind of a record for the most quotation marks used in a post.

I just want a VF-1S Hikaru, but unfortunately I missed it the first and maybe the only time around. I wanted to have it to bookend my VF-1S Roy. Ah well, maybe for the 25th anniversary of DYRL... I wouldn't mind having a VF-11 from Hasagawa either...

Is anyone in the know on what Yamato and Hasegawa plan to use to bleed our wallets dry after the Yamato 1/100 VB-6 Koenig Monster and 1/100 VF-0S and the Hasegawa VF-0D? Any chance of new releases or re-releases of 1/48 Yamato VF-1's, Zentraedi pods from either company, a Hasegawa VF-11; the long awaited Yamato YF-19FP; or any Hasegawa Macross Plus Battroid modes? Any news at all?
