Dune Extended Version DVD in May
Knight26 replied to Otaku-Smeghead's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Eh, I never cared for the David Lynch version, give me the books or the sci-fi channel rendition any day. -
We've discussed this before, long long ago, it is a made up fighter, I basically just a MiG-29C (I think do a search) with the SV-51 canards tacked on.

I am debating getting because I am saving up to buy a house, but if they do make the VF-0D I will be all over that one.

War Of The Worlds Trailer is OUT! Summer 2005!
Knight26 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
On the one hand, it deserves some kudos for staying much closer to H.G. Wells novel than any other version. Yet, due to the fact that the acting, special effects, camera work, lighting... pretty much everything looks like it could have been a college project for a theater major, the movie pretty much sucks like C-SPAN coverage of a debate on farm subsidies. 361755 Might be worth picking up as a rental then, as for the Speilberg/Cruise POS I will avoid that, heck if my buddy JP says a movie is bad I stay away from it like a cracked nuclear warhead. -

You would have got ripped off if you did. I got it at Wal-Mart for $5.44. 361552 How is the Pendragon version? -
Aircraft VS super thread!
Knight26 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
You can see the same sort of thing in early F-15 concepts, i.e. the eventual F-22 configuration is remarkably similar to that of a rejected F-15 concept, just not stealthy. -
Temporary depression is also a sideeffect of O2 Deprevation, that combined with all the other factors already listed would likely account for his depression. As for detecting the blackbird, "jumping" probably produces a lot of energy and starbuck was coming in hot, burning her engines, not a stealth profile. So Dradis was more then likely homing in on the initial energy signature and subsequent engine exhaust and then interpolating the course based on that.

The navy is almost an all hornet navy as it is, which is bad, you need diversity in an airwing. -
THE UN-OFFICIAL COLOR SCHEME THREAD

You only find it to be in bad taste becuase modern society refuses to let go of the Swastika as a Nazi symbol. Hilter did after all steal the swastika, it has been a symbol in human history for thousands of years, and depending on the culture using it can represent, life, the sun, health, etc... Infact I remember not too long ago a Navajo private school in New Mexico was sued by a Jewish group because the schools flag featured the Navajo swastika (which is reversed). Because the school didn't have the money to fight the suit in court they conceded and removed what was not a nazi symbol but a far more ancient symbol of their own culture. -
Ha Ha, but I was serious he shares the same last name as my mom's maiden name, and it is not that common a name. I was not trying to brag or anything, I didn't do the work nor have I ever met the guy, I just said it because I thought it was interesting.

YOu are talking the remake right? The original is funny, car chasing and crashing campy gold. I used to watch the original all the time with my dad, though what they do that poor Shelby mustang is a crime. Funny thing is that car still runs.

Nah, I found this was one of the few Kubrick films I could actually enjoy (for the first bit). Yes it seemed slow as hell, 15 minutes just for a docking shot, and like 30 minutes or so of apes running around prior to. I liked it up to the point where I think one of the astronauts gets back onto the Oydessy or whatever that ship is called to take out Hal. WHAT ARE YOU DOING! DON'T TOUCH MA MOTHER...board....let me sing you a song...lalalalalaal. After that I found it just ...egh. 357842 The biggest problem with the movie 2001 was that Kubrick and Asimov were both writing the movie and book versions seperately. The first half of the movie is almost straight off the book and the short stories from which it was originally derived. The big split comes towards the end, I used to have a web page bookmarked that showed the various differences and explained them.

How about navalized, Typhoons and Tornadoes. *ducks flying fruit* Seriously though i could see the brits going for the F-35C, look at the diagram and it clearly shows the F-35C on deck, not the F-35B. Hmm, maybe I should submit the Razor paper to the RN and see if they are interested, of course I could never produce it at this point, lol. -
I had no idea that Knight's Tale was chick flick when I first saw it. My Dad and I actually saw it because it looked like fun, and I admit that I still enjoy it. True its not historically accurate, but it was fun and it looks like they had fun making it.

BLASPHEMER!!!! I was raised on Python and love it all, though some parts of MoL were dumb I admit. Man as an engineer you practically have to be able to quote half of Holy Grail to graduate, especially the witch/duck speach. 357702 Actually, you just named another big reason I hate this film. People who insist on quoting it ad nauseam. 357737 I agree with that, movie quoting in general has its time and place, but I hardly fault the movie for that problem, more society in general, lol

ROFLMAO!!!!

Cool, and I am related, distantly to that guy, on my mom's side.

Assuming I am not flying over the northe pole at the time, for work, I will be attending.
