To true... Those massive wings. Badass!

Well, they're giving the main Predator (main character as he's referred to in the featurettes) the biggest shoulder cannon to ever grace the screen. He's probably compensating for something sorry couldn't resist.

Children's entertainment... Yesterday and Today
GobotFool replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ahhh yes, the internet. You'd think that such a powerful information tool would actually make the next generation smarter. Nah, not blaming the internet, just my weak willed addiction to it. Anyway that aside, this little article was sent to my mother through the E-mail. I thought the old farts here might appreciate it. Good Old Days According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 30's, 40's, 50's, or even maybe the early 60's probably shouldn't have survived. Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors, or cabinetes, and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.) As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors! We ate cupcakes, bread, and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing. We shared one soft drink with four friends. from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the breaks. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. No cell phones. Unthinkable! We did not have playstations, nintendo 64, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or internet chat rooms. We had friends! We went outside and found them. We played dodge ball, and sometimes the ball would really hurt. We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us. Remember the accidents? We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside of us forever. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them. Little league had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors! Tests were not adjusted to any reason. Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovative and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. I have no idea who wrote that. All I know is I wish I had. -
Only one I own is the Danny C, I may get the Zambot, and perhaps a Combattler V, but beyond that Super robots toys that have no variable ablilities usually don't do it for me. Though if they made an sleak 80's version of Tetsujin I'd nab that in a heartbeat. Also if they made a Getter Robo set that actually could break down and transform into all its individual parts, like the SHE, I'd nabe that as well. http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?SHE030

A Shockwave would be so easy to make toon accurate. Hell the original Shockwave toy looked pretty darn close to the toon. Or should it be the other way around, the toon shockwave was an accurate representation of the toy it was based on. Sans the unfortunantly placed trigger

The sales for masterpiece prime were, from what I have heard, astounding. I'd be suprised if we don't see another MP transformer in the future.
-
Don't forget that bad ass Shockwave!!!!! He rules them all! Hell in the comics he handed Megatron, and all the Autobot their butts!

I'd really love to get that Roy fig to pose next to my roy 1S 1/48.

No, you must buy it! If no one buys it, Yamato will feel no one is interested and not make us a larger one!!! J/k This is one I am going to wait to hear a review on before deciding to nab it.

peace is good, but to cite one of the toon examples here, look at Prime. He was a dude who prefered peace over war, but he wasn't about to stand by and let injustice take place. The only really muddy problem with that attitude is 'who dictates what is just and what is not' as from person to person, religion to religion, political system to political system and culture to culture the definition of justice can vary greatly. Some powerful dictators thought they were on the side of right and justic and look what they did to the world. -
So jet fighter is more a shooter than a sim you'd say Shin?

No, it was just another Bishop android. If you look carefully after "85" bashes him with the wrench, you'll see that half of his head - especially around the ear - is sorta hanging off. It was just another company trick to try to get Ripley to turn over the queen. What was up with the red blood then?

I agree. While alot of people disagree on what is right and just, ones intended final goal ought to be justice. Also justice doesn't have to be achieved only through physical means (by physical I mean only though fists). The most important thing for a strong person is to stand up for what they beleive and then do something about it, methods in achieving this range from the ones used by the agressive fantasy hero's like Superman, Batman ect... to extrordinary men of peace like Gandi. -

Hey, how can Holm's compete? I mean Batman has an awesome uniform, fighting moves, great car, chicks dig the car *ducks from all the tomatoes thrown at him for using a Batman Forever reference*, and he has awesome equipment! Whats does Holms have? His lil hat, a pip, and Watson Has anyone mentioned what villins are being used in this movie? -
huh... I smell sequel material here.... first they show Weyland in the first AVP, then comes AVP2 a few years later with Yutani... nah.... can't imagine an "Ash" figure being influential in the formation of Weyland-Yutani... Then again... Ash came waaaaaay after Bishop.. maybe by then android design was rethought and they went with mutiple varities of skins? After all, Ash was a next-gen android in the movie... Got that backwards, Bishop was the next gen droid.

Official Transformers Alternators and more thread.

What Sunstreaker? I know people (myself included) think this was originally meant to be Sunstreaker (because of the molded autobot symbol on the chest of the prototype). But instead, details were changed and it was announced as the first Binaltech decepticon "Dead End" instead. So it really isn't a repaint as it is the first Binaltech/Alternator TF based off the Viper Competition Coupe mold. Although I hope they *do* repaint it and give us a yellow Sunstreaker eventually. Melissa Takara and Hasbro love their repaints, so chances of seeing a Sunstreaker are good. -

Those're cool. I wonder if they have any Blakes 7 stuff. I'd nab Rimmers light bee if it wasn't so damn expensive. -
With alien vs predator now adressed I wonder if we'll ever see, stuff like Robocop vs Terminator, Superman vs Alien (yes this was real), Terminator vs Superman (yes this was also a real comic)
