I've always loved good mechanical design and of all the giant anime series out there, I have to say macross has that in spades. True I probably would not love macross as much as I do without the accompanying merchandise, but still I have fond memories of watching this odd 80's toon. Also robotech/battletech/macross is singularly responsible for raising my awareness of anime.

1. 1/48 VF-1: I still can't beleive they made a valk this beutiful that can transform perfectly into all 3 modes. 2. MPC Prime: The greatest TFer charactor finally gets the greatest TFer toy ever. 3. BT Smokescreen: Still the best looking of the lot 4. All the oither BT's 5. Dragon's Kerberos Armor: So detailed! 6. Marmit Boba Fett: The best Boba Fett figure ever! 7. All of the PG gundam kits: Just too detailed. And hell once assembled they are more durable than most toys I have. 8. SOC Dancougar: No clue what the show was about but the toy is just flat out awesome! 9. HGUC Dendrobium: Ummmmmm just huge! 10. Yammato monster: The Dendrobium needs a playmate.

Nah, not for release. Old school marketing ploy reminiscent of the 80s--- Only 20 will be made by Takara and the only way to get one is by collecting 20 points from the packages of the toys shown on that pic and then mailing them in just to put in your entry for the drawing--- so the title "lucky draw golden lagoon" version MPC (gotta love those Japanese kooky tiltles ). Those bastards! Damnit, must resist urge to collect 20 bot points!

They are not super rare, but they are in high demand and people once getting ahold of one often don't want to let go. You'll probably see at least one or 2 in decent condition pop up on ebay once a month.

The Cyclone was made in the early 1980s when real robot design was really taking off. The toy is one of my favorite anime based toys period. Considering when it was made I marvel at the engineering that went into this toy. (Course I also marvel at the fact that even with the over the top design they couldn't get poor stick to sit properly on his hog. D'oh!) To the best of my knowledge there are 2 variants; the original Japanese version with firing missiles and really classy packaging and the robotech version with non-firing missiles and gaudy robotech packaging. They only made stick into a large scale toy. If you want the other two your gonna have to nab the really small, and really really crappy version.

Yes I have seen the 1/48th resin kit, but I can hardly call a valkyrie model that does not transform ultimate. What's the point of a valk that doesn't transform

I was out the other day and saw a black chevy Trailblazer and to me it just screamed, make me into a BT trailbreaker!

Well if your a modelist make a custom one where ya putty up all the seems. Toy or model its probably the best large scale rendition of the VF-1 that will ever hit the market.

I could do that except I don't have a Yammie 1/48, I'm not a Macross toy kinda guy. your seriously missing out. The 1/48 is less of a toy and more of a completed model anyway

His tank mode looks fair. It at least looks like a tank and not a robot tugged and pulled into a painful position.

I am betting Prowl will be a 3rd Subaru Impreza. Considering he smoke,and streak were all 280Z's in the Gen1 line. Just as long as he gets a cool black and white scheme and has police lights I don't care what type of car they make him into.

They were all, in one way or another, discovered by Prime to be useless and most of all stoopid - They all don't deserve to be revived . Take Wheeljack for example... I mean come on, real dinosaurs maybe pea-brained, but robot dinosaurs can be smart with adequate hardware and programming - and yet he made the Dinobots stoopid. Tell me what does an astute leader do with a subordinate like Wheeljack and the comrades who helped him build the Dinobots? But wouldn't Prime being the sentimental sap he is want to bring his old buddy Ironhide back to life

I was kind of disappointed that Prime would hesitate at the very last moment - when he turned all girly manbot and refused to shoot through Hot Rod. Prime should have known robots can be rebuild and 'Rod's memories can be reinstalled. Stoopid Prime! I hope Rodimus or Hot Rod will never get his MPC or Binaltech toy treatment. If I'm Prime, I would have stomped on him like what Grimlock did to the Sharkticons. So if bots can be rebuilt or their memories reinstalled why did prime die
