yeah, i think i was the one who created a topic like this 4mths ago, except w/o the polls... i wanted to find out why so many more people are talking about the valks than the story....

For me is the romance, followed by songs, followed by valks, followed by the retro theme, too bad I only voted for romance....

but they still could have got married, heck, max and milia got married after ONE date, and she tried to kill him on that date....at least claudia could have been a 'proper widow', or perhaps roy thought that since he'll die anyday, best not to leave a widow, but he should have known that claudia would act like one after he died since they were so close anyway..... anyway...wow....most of you seen RT/Mac TV even before i was born....my generation only goes for eye-candy and ignore the shows with real substance...like macross or sakura wars....

what made you attracted to macross in the first place? i've just watched the show abt a mth ago, and the graphics were quite hard to swallow...but it was still great, heck, i even bought the 1/48 yamato VF-1S....only anime that i'll ever invest anything into, other than sakura wars...heck, these were the only two anime that i like...out of watching 40+ animes....(actually, not really fair to say that, cos i only watched segments of many animes, liked galaxy angels though, but dislike love hina, which is grossly overrated IMO) so, what made you 'fall in love' with macross? for me, it was the relationships, the love triangle to be specific, i think it was well done, unique yet belivable and realistic, i like misa too...of course, it could be that i was still floating in the air after my recent breakup....but, i still think that it's great... only after watching DYRL? that i did begin to appreciate the mecha....and subsequently went to buy the 1/48.... strangely, all isee in this forum is questions abt the mecha and very little abt the characters....they shld split the forum imo...into TV tech. specs. and story.... ah, and only after did i watch DYRL? that i begin to appreciate minmay, especially when she sung 'ai wa oboete imasuka', only in DYRL did i sympathise with her... she seems a little 'insane' in the TV series.... roy focker and claudia seems to have a very strange relationship though, not married, continuing in their carrers, yet, they seem like a loving, long married couple, claudia even had a 'widow' feel to her after roy died, esp. in the episode where misa brought the 'rare tea' around...

i own a VF-1S 1/48 yamato, not going to bash any other brands, just going to give a review.... the details are SUPERB, its as detailed as those airfix models, its more of model quality than that of a toy its quite durable IMO, but there are some lose parts....like the flap on the front landing gear...whatever you call that, but its super-minor.... its SUPER-ARTICULATE, yes, really, just twist the limbs however you want it(not too much though...) even if u twist the legs to an A-shape, the thing still can stand firm, cos the feet of the robot can be angled to a certain extent too, i think there's a photo of this on this website, anyone care to post? so the 1/48 is 1)beautiful 2)'playable' 3)posable i've SEEN the MPC before, it has some 'cool' features, like lighting up of eyes, and looks good on its own.....at least in battledroid mode, the one i saw it in... no real experience of it, but according to the users here, i won't take chances of buying it....it looks good on its own though.... but IMHO, which might be wrong, which is open to debate, which is relative and which is not absolute, the MPC looks pathetic as compared to the yamato, as shown in the pic someone posted here, and even the battledorid looks like.....a toy(MPC) next to a very accurate model(yamato) once u compare the MPC and the yamato(maybe the lighting was better for the yamato...or maybe i'm biased, so don't flame me) IMHO, i think if ur getting the MPC, either place it on its own, or don't get it at all, the 1/60's yamato look better too...IMHO.....

can't we all get along w/o flaming each other? different people have different PERSPECTIVES, so no two of us see the same situation in the same manner, its only natural that opinions differ, can't we all just post our two cents and make constructive reviews? no one is right, neither is anyone wrong, its all a matter of perspective, we don't have to say that someone's review sucks, or that a particular review is '133t' or 'pwns', let us all approach this with an open mind so that we can benefit whoever is reading these posts, instead of hearing rants of how 133t someone's review is or how someone review sux....

cut off the damaged part and make a new hole using the ring, i haven't done it before, so don't try it unless u have thought thru all the possible problems.... the strap is kinda useless IMO though....u need to take it off while transforming in2 fighter mode... no, my gunstrap was seperate too, u can bend those metal rings quite easily.... so dun worry, bend it to a degree where u can easily hook in the straps.... and look out for the infamous backpack flap....the piece that holds the backpack to the robot, don't force that part.....

ok....i own a VF-1S, its my first(and only) valkyrie purchase ever, hope u all can answer some of my questions.... 1)do any of you actually use the stickers???? id did, certain ones don't fit, so i had to cut the edges to make way for other stickers, plus, the stickers seem like really easy to come off around the edges, so i cut away all the edges.... will the plane lose MUCH of its value after i stuck on everythink(nicely)...i intended to display it in my room, so i didn't want a 'plain' valkyrie...esp. since it looks so much better after having stickers....imo.... 2)actually, no second question...lol here's a review of some problems about the VF-1S 1st edition(which i have...) 1)the nose cone drops of EASILY, when transforming vlaks, place the nose cone in a safe place before u transform it, its BOUND to fall off.... 2)the wing flaps move around during transformation, but it doesn't come off that easily 3)contary to the instructions, you can't fit two of the cockpit stickers into a single cockpit w/o cutting away the transparent edges first.....or is it a standard porcedure to cut away the transparent bits first? 4)this is the part that comes off super easily, the flap at the front wheel, its not really a flap, its the thing sticking out from the front wheel, that piece comes off nearly all the time..... 5)turning the head around during transformation is quite hard no other problems, very satisfied with my purchase, got it for SGD$220(singapore dollars) which is US$130.30....very expensive IMO, NOT going to buy any more valks EVER

just seen DYRL, noticed tons and tons of differences btwn DYRL and macross which is the 'true' version? both are equally good, IMO, but macross seems much less realistic.....i mean, like hiding the exsistence of macross for a short time after it returned to earth, not really sure, but DYRL has a more realistic feel... and the head honcho badguy has been remodeled into some huge living organism that controls an entire base, and whose head is already gigantic, plus then zentradi looks pretty mutated too, like their lack of hair, and throbbing brains, the females seem to be fighting the males as the meltradi, and their head honcho seems to be a mutated thingy, although not as mutated as that evil head thingy.... one question, what are the evil head thingy, or even the masked general talking about when they mentioned that they have gone through something like 100 cycles? i think the mutated thing said he gone thru 500k cycles, not really sure.... misa and hikaru seems much closer in DYRL, but i still prefer macross though... minmay seems much better, i actually like her quite a lot in DYRL, whereas in macross, she seems annoying... everything seems much cooler than in macross, art seems to have improved at least 10 times hikaru and minmay seem much more distant... hikaru is much more of a man this time round, although still irresponsible and rash, at least he's decisive...then again, he had not much of a bond with minmay to begin with, and is much closer to misa this time round.... i also seen the first ep. of macross 7, hated it absolutely, sorry to all fans of the series............ does it get better? any other macross as good as DYRL or macross TV?

okay...then what about the massive amount of valkaries that were destroyed? is flashback 2012 included in DYRL? DVD? so it is ASSUMED that they were married, so the actual wedding was not shown, right? and what's the age gap btwn. hikaru and misa?
