  1. Prices more or less doubled over the past 3 years. To be honest, I think their prices are more realistic now compared to when they started out. Unfortunately, the current prices are getting into Arcadia VF-1 and Bandai DX price range. The weak Yen isn't helping them.
  2. I did want one of these about 7 years ago. But many were starting to yellow then and I felt uneasy about getting a used one. So I eventually got the recent WWM release (post-release) just to have one. It the Yen stays relatively week, I may get this one and be done with it... And get some Kiki...
  3. So first off, as with anything, the owner of the item can do whatever they want to it despite anyone's opinion. It is theirs after all. The following is strictly my opinion... While I prefer my collectables to be in the "fresh off the factory floor" state, this is a special case... As Shawn said the discoloring is probably from the display lights. As I don't know where this storefront is, it may also be from sun exposure. In this particular case, along with the magazine photos, the discoloring helps prove that the item is legitimate. I think removing the yellowing will devalue it and potentially bring its legitimacy into question. So probably best not to touch it. While it my not be the exact same plastic as the store bought DX VF-1, It does bring up concern of how easily the DX VF-1 could yellow....
  4. You know Lolicon... When he gets his hands on a new toy to play with, it oftens ends up in pieces.
  5. So what if there is a D4 or D5 set?
  6. Hard to tell, but I think that this is D2 in fighter mode. It doesn't look quite like a 3 to me, but I can only zoom so much before all I see are artifacts.
  7. Off center bridges can aid in things such as navigating tight passages and in docking operations. As the SDF-1's bridge isn't off center enough, I'm guessing that there is no real functional reason. So it's the rule of cool!
  8. Legs could have been swapped with the other unit. Check the other one for the paint blemish?
  9. Awesome score! That unit my be essentially priceless!
  10. So I decided to look into KiKi today to see what it is currently going for. On ebay I found the following: KiKi for under $2 with free shipping out of China? The bottle was clearly different. Is this a KO product? Because it totally screams KO...
  11. My VF-25 came in 3 days ago. I finally had the time to take it out to inspect it. Paint is fine, hips are both fine, left ankle is looser than the right, but it doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment. Everything locks together nicely. It indeed has a lot of sharp bits that can scratch paint. I like it, but I probably won't be transforming it often.
  12. Perhaps you all haven't sat in your Regults lately... But I don't recall there being enough room in there to remove your helmet and put on your ear muffs. Unless you plan on opening up the hatch...
  13. Because you gotta pay the bills first?
  14. Since they started out as a KO outfit, it wouldn't surprise me if they only have one injection mold machine. It would explain the low production numbers. While I'm not a fan of this sculpt, as I don't care for the chunky intakes, I do like to keep tabs on what they are doing. They may very well be producing the best Robotech VF-1 ever.
  15. Thanks for sharing the info. I was on the fence about this for a long, long time. I finally decided to roll the dice and go for it. "Free domestic shipping on orders over $150" is a lie by the way. At least for me it was ($12). This will be my first VF-25 and with my luck I'll probably get Bandai'd with 2 floppy hips.
  16. Dude, sorry to hear of your loss. It was always a treat to see you scratch build your projects. Thank you for always sharing their progress. My limited understanding of apartment insurance is that the insurance of "he who leaks", pays for the damages to the affected properties. Hopefully they have a policy for that. Your scratch builds are the big unknown as the are unique. Extremely difficult to place a value on those. If you have an association they may be able help or give guidance on the repairs. Hopefully they're not the unaccommodating type.
  17. There is the option of waiting until release day and trying to get one from either Jungle or Mandarake. Hard part is trying to remember to try to buy it on release day.
  18. While it is a toy, the question is "what age group is this toy for?" Unlike the Chunky Monkey, it doesn't appear that it is intended for 10 year olds. So they add a bunch of details and add a bunch of gimmicks and call it a collectable. Then limit the production run and change a premium for it. Chunky Monkeys weren't that cheap back in the day either. Not sure if it would be $260 adjusted for inflation though.
  19. Closed. Might have been a canceled order so it went back up until it sold again.
  20. At least they were kind enough to set some aside for foreign purchases. It's not like they have to
  21. You would think that Bandai would figure out that they could sell a bit more for a bit more profit.
  22. My credit card screwed me with Hobby Genki last night. They declined my purchase. Suspected fraudulent charge they said.
  23. AmiAmi is up! https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-144233
